Background

Shen Leyi was the second son and an heir of the Shen Trade Guild, a commercially focused power whose status rivaled the Tianyuan Divine Sect and Shura Hall. His older brother, Shen Yulong, joined the Tianyuan Divine Sect and sought to eliminate him, driving Shen Leyi into the status of a rebel warrior. He ranked seventh on the sect’s rebel-warrior list and had slain four mission squads sent after him. 68 69 79

Han Fei encountered Shen Leyi in Hai Ping Town while pursuing an A+-level mission. Shen Leyi attacked with a heavy halberd and initially dismissed Han Fei for being below the Wuyuan Realm, but Han Fei decisively defeated him. Shen Leyi acknowledged Han Fei as a genuine genius and accepted his leadership. 68 69

He was subsequently permitted to temporarily follow Han Fei within the Tianyuan Divine Sect’s inner court. Although Shen Leyi had once been unable to enter the inner gate, his progress after joining Han Fei became extraordinary. 71 168

Personality

Shen Leyi is blunt, excitable, and relentlessly curious. He frequently pesters Han Fei with questions—especially about the Seven-Color Fire Phoenix—and is known for talking when Han Fei would prefer silence. 78 89 131 132

He began as a proud and impulsive fighter whose family conflict left him mentally unsettled. His straightforward heavy-weapon style favored force over planning, and he struggled against swift opponents and complex formations. 68 71 85

Despite his bravado, Shen Leyi is deeply loyal to Han Fei. He identifies Han Fei as his closest bond, calls him family, and uses his trial reward to save Mo Zixin rather than seek personal gain. 90 142 159

His elevated position eventually fed a sense of superiority. While garrisoning Mo Town, he forcibly recruited powerful warriors and retired masters into the Han Sect, assaulted Fang Jiayu’s appointed overseer, and triggered a direct confrontation with Han Fei. 290

Abilities & Skills

Heavy-Weapon Mastery

Shen Leyi specializes in oversized weapons, particularly his heavy Jian. His fighting style emphasizes crushing force, broad swings, and direct pressure.

  • Previously wielded a heavy halberd, war hammer, and trident in battle. 68 82 85
  • His heavy Jian can overpower opponents with superior weapon grade and brute force. 180
  • His style is vulnerable to fast, assassin-type combatants when he has exhausted his stamina. 85
  • Han Fei later taught him that a weapon must follow its wielder’s will rather than dictate the wielder’s actions. 106

Blood-Qi Mode

Han Fei taught Shen Leyi a blood-qi mode that increases his physical output.

  • Raises his strength by roughly ten percent. 180
  • Allowed his spiritual power to contend with Yu Ming Zhenren despite a gap in cultivation. 180
  • Produces a crimson aura that can halt incoming weapon strikes. 181

Spirit-Energy Feather Transformation

Shen Leyi learned to manifest spiritual-energy wings, compensating for the speed limitations of his heavy-weapon style.

  • A pair of wind-type rings reduces wind resistance and improves his speed. 87
  • The Spirit-Energy Feather Transformation improves aerial maneuverability and overall movement speed. 87
  • He can manifest four partial spiritual wings to escape gravity fields, halt retreats, and fight in the air. 140 168 181

Wind-Type Techniques

Shen Leyi employs wind-based techniques in conjunction with his spiritual wings and mobility artifacts.

  • Uses wind techniques at full output during aerial combat. 181
  • His wind-enhancing equipment partially offsets the natural slowness of his heavy weapons. 87 131

Command and Battlefield Leadership

Over time, Shen Leyi developed from Han Fei’s boisterous subordinate into a capable military commander.

  • Led experts in evacuating Han Fei’s clan members during the conflict at Taihe Peak. 114
  • Commanded Shura Island forces against Yuhua Mountain and ordered covert troop movements before the assault. 181
  • Became Fang Jiayu’s first divine general and one of the Eastern Region’s three dominant figures. 216
  • Earned recognition as a human general with courage and strategy on the Eastern Front. 256

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Heavy Jian — Shen Leyi’s primary weapon; upgraded by an elder into a top-tier post-natal spirit treasure. 161
  • Wind-type rings — Mid-rank artifacts that reduce wind resistance and increase his speed. 87
  • Spirit-Energy Feather Transformation manual — A technique manual acquired during the Illusory Beast Sect complex expedition. 87
  • High-efficiency healing medicine — Used to recover from poison and battlefield injuries. 89

Relationships

  • Han Fei — Boss, sworn follower, and closest brotherly bond. Han Fei repeatedly protects and trains him, while Shen Leyi swears to follow him to the death. 83 94 142 159
  • Shen Haotian — Father and leader of the Shen Trade Guild; Shen Leyi is visibly fearful and awkward around him. 79
  • Shen Yulong — Older brother and rival within the Tianyuan Divine Sect; Shen Yulong considers Shen Leyi a greater thorn in his side than Han Fei. 69 79
  • Fang Jiayu — Comrade and commanding partner; Shen Leyi later serves as Fang Jiayu’s first divine general. 131 216
  • Mo Zixin — Companion whose life Shen Leyi chooses to save with his granted wish. 139 159
  • Cheng Mengyao / Black Robe — Longtime ally; they fight alongside one another and jointly support Han Fei’s forces. 140 167
  • Shura God — Strategic ally during Shura Hall’s conflict with the independent Yinglong Domain forces. 181
