Arc 13The 135th Legion Marches

Velin expanded Qixing Territory, prepared for a demonic threat and war with the Dwarves, then took command of the 135th Legion. After the Dwarf army was defeated, his legion entered Xigas Province and halted when it found the land scorched and deserted.

  • Velin robbed a Dwarf convoy, then won the Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe as vassals and settled them in Long Forest County.
  • Velin surveyed Stone City’s mines and auxiliary army, bought Fisk Dosk’s provincial assets, and reorganized Qixing Territory’s businesses and forces.
  • As Dwarf attacks spread through Cadro Province, Velin formed a mobile force, defeated a band of Dwarf raiders, and learned that a Demonic Calamity was approaching.
  • Velin sent troops to help Ridge Territory, then prepared Qixing Territory for war and arranged to have Anastasia capture a Red Dragon expected to raid his lands.
  • Velin assembled the 135th Legion, trained its 60,000 soldiers, and secured supplies and a Shadow Guard commander while the legion waited as reserve under the 27th Legion.
  • After the Dwarf army was defeated, Burborn ordered the 27th Legion into Xigas Province, and Velin halted the 135th Legion when scouts reported burned villages and farmland near Iron Tower City.
Chapters 301–325 Vol. 4 Read

Ch. 301An Encounter with a Dwarf Transport Convoy

Velin, Kyle, and Aljettah ambushed a Dwarf transport convoy carrying rare minerals and killed its entire force. After the one-sided battle, they began disposing of the bodies and preparing to leave no survivors behind.

  • Velin traveled northwest with Kyle, Aljettah, and twenty-four Guard Team knights, then camped after wiping out a nearby Kobold tribe.
  • Kyle scouted a Dwarf convoy and reported its strength and cargo to Velin, who decided to rob it and ordered Aljettah not to let anyone escape.
  • Aljettah transformed into a silver dragon and flew Velin and Kyle toward the convoy, then crashed into its center and scattered Dwarf soldiers.
  • Kyle killed the Low-Gold Dwarf Warrior Kado, while Velin slaughtered the other Dwarf Warriors and Kyle cut down those who tried to flee.
  • Aljettah burned the Dwarf corpses with Dragon Language Magic after Velin ordered him to handle the bodies.

Ch. 302Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe

After dividing the stolen goods, Velin examined maps of dwarf resource sites before his group found the Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe. Its leader, Gregori, explained that the tribe had fled the Misty Forest after defeat and come seeking a peaceful home on Alp Island.

  • Aljettah carried the loot back to camp, where he and Velin agreed to divide it into thirds.
  • Kyle listed the cargo, and Aljettah took the gold, mithril ore, and mountain copper ore in exchange for dragon scales.
  • Aljettah translated three vague resource maps, then fell asleep from mana exhaustion; Velin stored the supplies and studied the maps.
  • Velin's group encountered the Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe, and Aljettah revealed his dragon form to greet them.
  • Gregori greeted Aljettah and said his tribe had come from the Misty Forest seeking Alp Island after being defeated.

Ch. 303Silver Dragon Aljettah's Fighting Style

Aljettah fought Gregory to decide whether the Crescent Tribe would settle in the area and become vassals. After defeating him with aerial magic, Aljettah secured Gregory’s agreement to follow his will, while explaining that Velin’s group would provide a peaceful home in exchange for some adult tribesmen joining their army.

  • Gregory initially refused Aljettah’s offer to settle the Crescent Tribe in a region surrounded by competing powers, so Aljettah agreed to decide the matter through a duel.
  • Gregory transformed into a Giant Wolf and attacked, but Aljettah stayed airborne and used Frost Breath, Ice Spears, and Magic Barriers to wear him down.
  • Aljettah sealed Gregory in ice, then blocked his surprise attack with sixteen Magic Defense Barriers and left him unable to fight.
  • Gregory admitted defeat and agreed to lead the Crescent Tribe as Aljettah’s vassals.
  • Aljettah explained that Velin’s group would give the tribe a peaceful place to live and ask some adult tribesmen to join its army.

Ch. 304Surveying the Underground World's Resource Production Areas (Part 1)

Velin settled the Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe in Long Forest County and brought forty silver wolves to Star Moon Castle. He then inspected the Underground World’s development in Stone City, where he learned that the Goddess of Life’s faith had spread through the Auxiliary Army by unusual means.

  • Gregory pledged the Crescent Moon Silver Wolf Tribe to Qixing Territory and offered forty tribesmen for Velin’s army.
  • Velin granted the Crescent Tribe two hundred square kilometers in Long Forest County and gave Gregory livestock manuals and promised food aid.
  • Velin brought forty adult silver wolves back to Star Moon Castle, where Kyle took command of them.
  • Velin traveled with Hilda and Sisina to Stone City and asked Cassius to show him the Auxiliary Army Barracks.
  • Velin saw priests preaching to Gray Dwarves and learned from Cassius that one-third of the Auxiliary Army had converted after Student Priests of Lavia repeatedly beat and healed their recruits.
  • Six Auxiliary Army officers of different races arrived to meet Velin.

Ch. 305Surveying Underground World Resource Production Areas (Part 2)

Velin inspected the Underground World's soldiers, mushroom farms, mines, and gold excavation area, learning how O'dor's rules managed workers and production. After surveying eight districts, he left twenty-three undeveloped districts unexplored and confirmed that the gold mine was heavily guarded.

  • Velin questioned the officers and learned the numbers and composition of the soldiers under their command.
  • Velin inspected District One's mushroom farms and learned that overseers faced strict limits on whipping slaves and could be demoted for poor production.
  • Velin visited District 04 and inspected an iron mine, where Rotten Stone explained the competitive system for slaves and overseers.
  • Velin spent a week surveying eight districts and found that the remaining twenty-three were undeveloped and still inhabited by monsters.
  • Velin inspected the gold mine excavation area, where twenty thousand slaves worked under the watch of a stationed Auxiliary Army.

Ch. 306Salary Rules and Thoughts on Kyle's Future Spouse

Velin inspected the gold mine, then met with Kyle to discuss whether his trusted knights’ salaries could support their families and how to provide them with additional income. Velin planned to create a merchant association for Raimondo to manage and decided to find Kyle a suitable wife.

  • Velin inspected the Stone City gold mine and returned to Star Moon Castle before preparing to meet Governor Fisk Dosk about a business deal.
  • Velin returned to Qixing Manor, where Raimondo and Dorisa greeted him and told him they were expecting a child.
  • Velin asked Kyle whether the Guardian Knights’ salaries could support their families, and Kyle said they might be insufficient for raising children.
  • Velin decided to establish a merchant association under Raimondo’s management and distribute half its annual profits among twelve trusted people, including Belder.
  • Velin asked Kyle what he wanted in a wife, and Kyle said he hoped she would be talented and kind-hearted; Velin resolved to find him a woman from his own family.

Ch. 307Full Takeover of Governor Fisk's Assets

Velin met Governor Fisk to purchase all of Fisk’s assets in Cadro Province and Bagamoio, completing the transaction for 2,837,000 Gold Coins. The deal left Fisk’s properties in Velin’s hands as Velin considered the implications of the incoming governor and the kingdom’s preparations for war with the Dwarves.

  • Velin arrived at Fisk’s residence with Kyle and was welcomed by Fisk’s son, Kazak, before meeting the governor.
  • Fisk listed his properties in Cadro Province and Bagamoio, and Velin asked about the incoming governor, Audrey Silvis, a royal relative and former Temple Knight of the Life God Cult.
  • Velin offered to buy all of Fisk’s assets, and Fisk agreed to have Kyle and Kazak coordinate their valuation.
  • Fisk and Velin discussed the Hax Family’s punishment and the loss of most of its territory after its joint trial by the king and the Church of Life.
  • Kyle valued Fisk’s assets at 2,837,000 Gold Coins, and Velin paid the full amount in Gold Notes.
  • Fisk handed Velin the deeds, completing the transfer of all his assets.

Ch. 308The Beginning of Unrest in the Eastern Region of the Sinapsis Subcontinent

Velin strengthened Qixing Territory’s forces and spent time with his griffons as news of wars and shifting alliances threatened to plunge the eastern region of the Sinapsis Subcontinent into chaos. He later joined the crowded Star Prayer Day celebrations in Star Prayer City, where his carriage was held up by the festival traffic.

  • Velin ordered Raimondo to take over acquired properties and consolidate Governor Fisk’s holdings, while Cassius returned to train the Fourth and Fifth Battalions.
  • Multi-Flame Flowers and Glowing Wine helped produce thirty-five Silver Warriors and twelve Silver Knights in Qixing Territory.
  • Velin visited the Mutated Griffon, learned that she had named her clan the Snow Wind Clan, and discovered she would carry him.
  • Velin heard that the Kingdom of Kuber and the Isle Half-elf Kingdom had stopped fighting, while the Axi Magic Kingdom declared war on the Sacred Mountain Dwarf Kingdom and the Moon Elf Kingdom announced Absolute Neutrality.
  • Velin spent time with his pets and later attended the seventh Star Prayer Day in Star Prayer City with Kyle, Hilda, and Sisina, but the crowded road delayed their carriage.

Ch. 309Daily Life on Star Prayer Day

Velin and his companions celebrated Star Prayer Day with a city outing, gifts, and a banquet before he and Kyle visited Anastasia at the Ice Castle. Anastasia explained that her soul injuries had not healed and agreed to honor her promise to help as unrest grew along the border.

  • Velin, Kyle, Hilda, and Sisina toured Star Prayer City's stalls, where Velin bought a wooden Knight carving and made a second one for Kyle.
  • On the way back to Star Moon Fort, Kyle gave Velin, Hilda, and Sisina embroidered pouches, and Velin invited Eunice to a private Star Prayer Day dinner.
  • Velin and his companions played Mutated Chess and shared a banquet, where Hilda and Sisina relaxed while Eunice remained reserved but felt happy.
  • The next morning, Velin gave Hilda and Sisina Gold Coins and the day off to enjoy the city.
  • Velin and Kyle visited Anastasia at the Ice Castle, where she explained that her soul injuries could only heal slowly and promised to help with the growing border unrest.

Ch. 310Mutual Probing—Turmoil Caused by the Dwarves

After Dwarven “bandits” attacked border territories, Velin traveled to Cadro Province’s capital to meet Governor Audrey Silvis and discuss a proposed Defense Force. He and his uncles suspected the Governor’s real aim was to recruit noble armies for probing operations against the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom, and agreed the Ex Family should act together.

  • Kyle informed Velin that Dwarves had attacked Gresley Military Town and denied responsibility, prompting Velin to order patrols along Qixing Territory’s northern border.
  • Dwarven “bandits” attacked three Baron Territories, killing one Baron and severely wounding two others, while Cadro Province fell into panic.
  • Governor Audrey Silvis summoned the province’s nine Viscounts to discuss forming a Defense Force, and Velin traveled to the Provincial Capital.
  • Velin met Olcott and Edgar, who argued that the attackers were likely troops belonging to Dwarven nobles rather than the Dwarf Kingdom Army.
  • Edgar revealed that the Kingdom had ordered Viscount Byron Carden to send troops into the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom to gather intelligence.
  • Velin, Olcott, and Edgar agreed that the Governor’s proposal might conceal a plan to send noble troops on probing operations, and that the Ex Family should advance and retreat together.

Ch. 311Defense Force Meeting: Both Sides Sound Each Other Out

At a meeting in the Governor’s Mansion, Audrey Silvis recruited four Viscounts for a probing operation and organized the province’s Defense Force. Afterward, Viscount Moncas purchased Ice Blue Potions from Velin, leaving Velin to arrange their delivery.

  • Audrey Silvis explained that the military had ordered Kadlo Province to probe Xikas Province, and offered contribution points redeemable for items to attract the Viscounts.
  • Viscount Moncas and three other Viscounts agreed to join the probing operation, while Velin, Uncle Edgar, and Uncle Olcott stayed out of it.
  • Audrey proposed dividing the province into ten Defense Force regions and clarified that northern border troops could assist in emergencies; Velin learned which territories fell under his jurisdiction.
  • Viscount Moncas approached Velin after the meeting and asked to buy three hundred bottles of Ice Blue Potion.
  • Velin settled on a price of ten Gold Coins per bottle, and Moncas paid three Gold Notes worth one thousand Gold Coins each.

Ch. 312Mutual Probing—Formation of the Tenth Army of the Defense Force

Velin organized the Tenth Army of the Defense Force and met with the five barons in its jurisdiction to arrange its troops. The barons agreed to provide forces for a mobile unit under Velin’s command, while the Fourth and Fifth Battalions were incorporated into the army.

  • Olcott praised Velin’s prospects as a future leader of Kadlo Province, but Velin said he would wait until the war with the Dwarves ended before choosing allies.
  • The other five viscounts returned to their territories to form the Defense Force, dividing Kadlo Province into ten defense zones.
  • Velin summoned five barons to Star Prayer City, reassured four who had once opposed him, and heard reports on their territories and troops.
  • Velin told the barons that Qixing Territory had a population of around 290,000 and a standing army of 15,000, then declined their offer of allegiance.
  • Velin assigned two battalions from Qixing Territory and requested another 6,000 men from the barons to form a 12,000-strong mobile force under his command.
  • Velin replaced the Star Prayer Camp in the Underground World with the Fourth Battalion and incorporated it and the Fifth Battalion into the Tenth Army.

Ch. 313Both Sides Sound Each Other Out—Marquis Dalag's Cargo

Velin's forces confronted a Dwarf army sent to probe Qixing Territory after Marquis Dalag's cargo disappeared. Cassius's disciplined troops devastated the Dwarves, and Kyle moved to capture survivors so Velin could learn why they had attacked.

  • Viscount Stonehammer's Dwarf general learned that Marquis Dalag had pressed his liege into ordering an investigation of Qixing Territory, and his father Sug volunteered to lead two hundred elderly veterans.
  • Sug led the veterans out the next morning while the remaining Dwarves saw them off, and six bands of Dwarf "bandits" gathered to attack Qixing Territory from the northwest.
  • Velin received reconnaissance reports and led two battalions toward Long Forest County, where Cassius commanded the defense against roughly fifteen hundred Dwarves.
  • Sug and the other Dwarf officers abandoned their tangled formation and ordered a reckless charge against the human troops.
  • Cassius's ballistae, archers, and melee troops killed most of the Dwarves, and Velin ordered Kyle to capture prisoners as Kyle rode toward the battlefield.

Ch. 314Testing Each Other—If He Couldn't Rob Qixing Territory, Couldn't He Rob the Centaurs Instead?

After defeating the Dwarves who attacked Qixing Territory, Velin learned that Marquis Dallag had sent them to test the territory while seeking his stolen goods. Unable to challenge Qixing Territory’s suspected Legendary protector, Dallag turned his army against the Centaurs, while Velin awaited a fateful warning about a Demonic Calamity.

  • Kyle captured and interrogated the surviving Dwarves, who revealed that Marquis Dallag had ordered the attack as a test and hoped to use it to avenge his stolen goods.
  • Velin concluded that Dallag would likely avoid Qixing Territory because it had a powerful protector, Lady Anastasia.
  • Marquis Dallag abandoned plans to confront Qixing Territory and sent twenty thousand Dwarves to raid the Centaurs instead.
  • Three Dwarf Marquises and eight Counts joined the raids, killing more than two hundred thousand Centaurs and driving the survivors to attack Gray-skinned Goblins.
  • On July 1, 9730, Velin waited for the Guidance of Fate, which warned of a small Demonic Calamity in White Stone City six months later.

Ch. 315News of the Demonic Calamity

Velin learned that a small-scale Demonic Calamity might affect Qixing Territory and studied accounts of past demon invasions. He left preparations to Kyle, who promised to handle the threat.

  • Velin read Mite's Travels and learned that small-scale Demonic Calamities could release tens of thousands of demons through an Abyss Gate that lasted for days.
  • Velin suspected demons would flee into Qixing Territory and called Hilda and Sisina to keep him company before sending them back to rest.
  • Velin punished Hilda and Sisina by demoting them to sweeping maids for half a month after they disobeyed his order to rest.
  • The next morning, Velin privately told Kyle that demons might appear in three to six months or later and asked how to respond.
  • Kyle asked Velin to leave the matter to him and promised to handle it fully.

Ch. 316Brian's Call for Help

After Ridge Territory suffered repeated attacks by Dwarf bandits, Velin led three thousand soldiers there to aid his cousin Brian. He stationed the Third Camp in Ridge Territory and learned that the attacks had devastated the Defense Force’s Seventh Army and nearby territories.

  • Velin received Brian’s request for aid and decided to lead the Third Camp to Ridge Territory.
  • Velin left Kyle in charge of key affairs while three thousand soldiers marched from Star Moon Fort.
  • Brian met Velin at the border and led him into the badly damaged Ridge Town.
  • Brian told Velin that the Dwarves had heavily attacked Ridge Territory and the Seventh Army, killing or wounding many troops and two Barons.
  • Velin stationed the Third Camp in Ridge Territory and offered Brian supplies from Qixing Territory.
  • Velin examined Adrian’s documents and concluded that the Dwarves were targeting the Seventh Army’s jurisdiction.

Ch. 317Prelude to War—Declaration of War

As the Ilia Kingdom prepared to war against the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom, Velin organized Qixing Territory’s military contribution and announced a third expansion to secure population after the fighting. The chapter ended with the preparations set in motion for the army’s departure and the expansion beginning in June.

  • Brian accepted that his injuries and losses would keep him from the coming war, and he promised Velin he would marry, repay his debt, and make Ridge Territory prosper within ten years.
  • The Sixteenth Silver Knight Order returned to Kadlo Province, the kingdom’s Eleventh and Sixteenth Legions arrived, and the year-long unrest ended as the Dwarf bandits vanished and the Defense Force disbanded.
  • A Demonic Calamity devastated Stone Mountain Province, but the Dwarf Mountain God, three Dwarf Legends, and two hundred thousand Dwarf soldiers contained it within the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom.
  • Belgrave Sylves and Anastasia signed the Ilia Kingdom’s Declaration of War, prompting Velin to prepare Qixing Territory’s Pioneer Action alongside the coming conflict.
  • At a meeting in Star Moon Fort, Velin assigned troops and priests to the war effort and appointed Duke and Belder to oversee civil affairs during Orlando’s absence.
  • Velin announced Qixing Territory’s third expansion for June, appointed Belder and seven assistants to lead it, and ordered Raimondo to spend two million Gold Coins on slaves.

Ch. 318Plundering the Qixing Territory (A Red Dragon Walking Right into a Trap)

Velin organized Qixing Territory’s military expansion and prepared his forces for the coming war while Orlando and Hebrew advanced to Gold. A Guidance of Fate warned that a red dragon would raid the territory in nine months, and Velin arranged for Anastasia to capture it alive for his plans.

  • Velin finalized three major proposals, including forming the Seventh Camp and Eighth Battalion within three years, and assigned Belder to lead the expansion.
  • Velin inspected the knights, learned that Orlando had concealed the Fire Lion Knight Order’s battle beasts, and ordered Kyle to support Orlando through his breakthrough.
  • Velin discovered that a Mid-Gold Red Dragon planned to plunder Qixing Territory in nine months and began imagining ways to use it.
  • Orlando and Hebrew broke through to Gold, and Velin gave them keys to the Transcendent Library so they could choose battle skills before the campaign.
  • Velin told Anastasia about the coming raid, and she agreed to capture the dragon alive for research as long as it retained its ability to mate.

Ch. 319135th Legion

Velin became Chairman of the Cadro Province Noble Council as the province’s noble troops gathered and trained for war. The Kingdom reorganized the sixty thousand soldiers into the 135th Legion under Velin’s command and placed it under the 27th Legion.

  • Viscount Moncas asked Velin to take over as Chairman of the Cadro Province Noble Council, and Velin accepted.
  • By June 15, more than sixty thousand soldiers had gathered, including three hundred troops sent by Brian; Velin arranged for Cassius to provide Brian’s men with officers.
  • The noble army trained for three months, improving especially the barons’ troops.
  • Kingdom military officers reorganized the force into the 135th Legion, appointing Velin Legion Commander and Moncas Deputy Legion Commander.
  • Velin met Zachary Ex, an officer from the Ex Family, who became the legion’s liaison officer.
  • The King placed the 135th Legion under the 27th Legion, commanded by Burborn Silvis.

Ch. 320Army Organization, Assembly Underway

Velin learned how the 27th Legion fit into the kingdom’s wartime command structure and prepared to gather his troops. After reaching the legion’s garrison, he met his Third Uncle Bamund and learned that his father and granduncle held high command posts.

  • Staff Officer Rovi explained that the Sixth Commander's Department commanded twenty-five legions and read the 27th Legion’s assembly orders to Velin and the other viscounts.
  • Velin dismissed the meeting and focused on assigning posts and unifying the 135th Legion, while Kyle turned away nobles seeking to visit him.
  • A month and a half later, the 135th Legion’s 60,000 troops arrived at the 27th Legion’s garrison outside the Xylos Provincial Capital.
  • Bamund visited Velin, teased him about inspecting his strength, accepted Glowing Wine, and agreed to cover for him during a trip to the Sixth Commander's Department.
  • Bamund told Velin that his father served as deputy commander of the 3rd Commander Department and commander of the 13th Legion, while Earl Hurricane was a deputy commander of the Sixth Commander's Department and commanded the 126th Legion.

Ch. 321Speculation on the Cause of the War, Heading to the Sixth Commander's Department

Velin traveled to the Sixth Commander's Department to visit his Great-Uncle Ivilios and request a Soul Intent Professional to support him. After entering the Type-1 Magic War Fortress with Bamund’s command token, he made his request to Ivilios.

  • Bamund told Velin about Ivilios’s position in the Sixth Commander's Department, speculated that the war aimed to weaken the Dwarven Mountain God, and gave Velin his command token.
  • Velin spent three days searching for Krell, then completed his legion commander combat assessment and set out with Kyle and twelve attendants for the Sixth Commander's Department.
  • Velin passed through the heavily guarded approaches and entered the Type-1 Magic War Fortress using Bamund’s token.
  • Ivilios received Velin, arranged supplies for Bamund’s representative, and invited Velin to explain his visit.
  • Velin asked Ivilios to assign a Soul Intent Professional to support him.

Ch. 322Earl Hurricane's Concern

Velin secured valuable supplies for the 135th Legion and arranged for a Shadow Guard commander to join his side. He distributed the equipment and potions among the legion's battalions, earning the nobles' approval.

  • Ivileos offered Velin a choice of Soul Intent Professionals, and Velin asked for a Shadow Guard commander to serve with him.
  • Ivileos promised to send a commander and had Velin collect Bamund's requested supplies from the logistics department.
  • Velin delivered the supplies to Bamund, who instructed him to take them to the 135th Legion and planned extra drills for his Guard Team.
  • Velin gathered the legion's Deputy Legion Commanders and corps commanders, then proposed sharing the supplies across the battalions while using the cannons and crystals collectively.
  • The nine Viscounts approved Velin's distribution plan, and Velin promised to share any future supplies he obtained.

Ch. 323The Final Pre-war Meeting

With war approaching between the Kingdom of Isia and the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom, Velin attended the 27th Legion’s final pre-war meeting and learned its forces would handle garrison and logistical duties. The 135th Legion was placed in reserve, leaving Velin to wait at the military camp for further orders.

  • Velin received a summons to the Legion Command Department and told Kyle to prepare Viscount Moncas and the others for orders from above.
  • Velin met Count Russell Curisco on the way to the meeting, and Curisco shared a rumor about sending a surprise force around the Graylight Wasteland.
  • Velin and Curisco took their seats in the central command tent and waited for the 27th Legion’s commander, deputy commander, and staff officer.
  • Commander Burborn announced the 27th Legion’s assignments: the 131st Legion would be the mobile main force, the 132nd and 134th Legions would handle garrisons and supplies, the 133rd Legion would guard the Graylight Wasteland border, and the 135th Legion would serve as reserves.
  • Velin learned that the 135th Legion would await further orders and was content to remain in camp.

Ch. 324The Secret "Legendary Convention"

Velin’s 135th Legion remained a reserve force as the war began, while a secret agreement between three kingdoms restricted battles between Legends. Months later, after the dwarves’ defeat and heavy losses among the other legions, Velin arrived at the first combat meeting and saw that the commanders were no longer confident.

  • Velin ordered his troops to familiarize themselves with the Magic Energy Cannons while the 135th Legion waited as a reserve.
  • A month later, Bashio, Ilia, and the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdoms secretly signed the Legendary Convention at Mount Nater, binding themselves for the duration of the war.
  • Three months later, the Great War erupted, and Velin and the other officers watched distant strategic-grade magic from a hill near their camp.
  • Two months later, the dwarves suffered a rout and Ilia’s front line advanced north; on June 18, the Legion Command Department held its first combat meeting.
  • Velin encountered Rassel, who described supply losses and more than five thousand deaths in the 134th Legion, then noticed the other legion commanders also appeared subdued.

Ch. 325Victory in the First Stage, New Orders

After receiving orders to suppress Dwarf Resistance Forces in Xigas Province, Velin got supplies for the 135th Legion and led it toward the Ironforge Mountain Dwarf Kingdom. The advance halted after scouts reported that villages and farmland near Iron Tower City had been burned, leaving the Dwarves’ whereabouts uncertain.

  • Burborn announced that the Border Dwarf Army had been defeated and ordered the 27th Legion to enter Xigas Province and suppress scattered resistance forces, while allowing Dwarf captives to be taken as slaves but forbidding wanton slaughter.
  • Bamund warned Velin against massacring Dwarf civilians or disturbing clergy who did not interfere with operations, then gave him a document for enough supplies to re-equip the 135th Legion.
  • On July 8, 9732 of the Radiant Calendar, the 60,000-strong 135th Legion set out for Xigas Province under Velin and his officers.
  • Scouts told Moncas that villages and farmland around Iron Tower City had been burned, with no signs of battle, and suspected the Dwarves had used a Scorched Earth Policy.
  • After Moncas reported the situation, Velin halted the march and ordered the troops to camp until the situation became clearer.
