  • Velin asked Muller about Valkam and his personal story, and Muller agreed to tell him.

Ch. 627Muller

Velin and Kyle visited Muller in his quarters, where Muller described his life and the Church of Life’s authority in Valcam World. Velin offered to arrange a visit to the Royal Capital despite the camp commander’s restrictions.

  • Muller invited Velin and Kyle to his quarters and served them tea.
  • Muller recounted his life, from losing his parents and joining the army to becoming commander of the Royal Capital’s Temple Knight Order and eventually a Gold Knight.
  • Muller explained the nations and religious authority on the Caton Continent, and Velin identified the Holy Third Dawn Kingdom as the dominant power on the Xenops Subcontinent.
  • Muller offered to show Velin the Royal Capital but said Karnrei Milais had forbidden anyone from leaving camp without permission.
  • Velin told Muller he would handle the restriction, saying he would do it because he felt like it.

Ch. 628Duke of Moravia's "Coercion"

Velin visited his grandfather, the Duke of Moravia, to ask for the Ninth Temple Knight Order under Muller, and the Duke arranged for the unit to report to him the next morning. The Duke then forced Velin to deliver a disk to someone in the royal capital, leaving Velin bound for the city the day after tomorrow.

  • Velin gave up on taking supplies from the heavily guarded Logistics Camp and went to visit the Duke of Moravia.
  • Velin asked the Duke to assign Muller’s Ninth Temple Knight Order to him, and the Duke sent the transfer order through a Spatial Channel.
  • The Duke questioned Velin about his troop training, exposed that he had been lying, and ordered him to deliver a disk in the royal capital.
  • The Duke warned Velin that the disk’s recipient might come looking for him if he delayed, so Velin agreed to deliver it.
  • Velin returned to the Fifteenth Army’s camp with Kyle and planned to travel to the royal capital the day after tomorrow.

Ch. 629Bribery

Muller was ordered to place the Ninth Temple Knight Order under Velin Ex’s command and bring five thousand sets of armor to the Ades Barracks. Velin arrived late to meet the knights, learned about the armor gift, and joked with Kyle about whether accepting it made him corrupt.

  • Karnrei summoned Muller and told him the Ninth Temple Knight Order would serve under Velin Ex, warning him to endure any difficulties and sending him with five thousand sets of armor.
  • Muller led the Ninth Temple Knight Order and eighty-three carriages of armor from the armory to the Ades Barracks, arriving at six in the morning.
  • Velin woke at nine and went to inspect the waiting Ninth Temple Knight Order after Kyle said he had told Muller that Velin was away on business.
  • Kyle told Velin that Karnrei had given him five thousand sets of armor, and Velin joked with Kyle about whether accepting the gift counted as corruption.

Ch. 630Time-Space Projection—The Beginning

Velin inducted Muller and the Ninth Temple Knight Order into the Fifteenth Army, then traveled to the Royal Capital with Kyle. Following a mysterious disc through the South City District, Velin and Kyle entered a Time-Space Projection and recognized something familiar about a child they encountered.

  • Velin accepted the Ninth Temple Knight Order into his command, assessed its drills, and arranged for Hebrew and Devonshire to train the knights.
  • Velin appointed Muller a Staff Officer, then set out with Kyle for the Royal Capital to visit Zelia and run an errand for his maternal grandfather.
  • At the Royal Capital, Velin gave Muller money and a passage Command Token so he could explore on his own, then followed a disc with Kyle into the South City District.
  • Kyle realized the winding alleys held a Time-Space Projection, and Velin sensed that the people around them were present despite being untouchable.
  • A child appeared while fleeing his mother, and Velin felt he knew him; after Kyle pointed out the back of the child's hand, Velin's pupils contracted.

Ch. 631Time-Space Projection—The Boy

Velin and Kyle watched a Time-Space Projection of Velin’s grandfather as a boy, when he resisted Hemoris’s temptation and met the Silver Wyrmling who became his teacher. The projection then showed Moravia sparring with his teacher more than a century later.

  • Velin tried to approach the red mark in the projection, but Kyle caught him when he struck a barrier, and Velin chose to keep watching.
  • The boy fled his angry mother into a courtyard and heard Hemoris, a Broken Sword in the well, promise him power and his parents’ love.
  • The boy refused Hemoris, saying there were no gifts without reason, and a Silver Wyrmling swallowed the sword and introduced itself as a disciple of the Time Dragon Frederick.
  • The Silver Wyrmling agreed to teach the boy and promised to visit every fifteenth night of the month before leaving through a passage.
  • The projection shifted to Moravia sparring with his teacher, a Silver Wyrmling, who teased him about marrying its sister; Moravia formed thirty-six magic shields to defend himself.

Ch. 632Time-Space Projection—The Disc

Velin and Kyle watched a Time-Space Projection of Moravia’s past, where the Silver Wyrmling healed his disciple, gave him a disc and knowledge from a legendary Arcanist, and warned him about a woman protected by destiny. The projection ended back in the alley, where Velin realized the disc had been taken.

  • The Silver Wyrmling healed Moravia after he endured its dragon breath and told him it had to leave to sort through timelines.
  • The Silver Wyrmling gave Moravia a legendary Arcanist’s knowledge and a Time Stone disc, warning him about his future and telling him to return the disc in a thousand years.
  • The Silver Wyrmling entered a temporal passage, and the disc on Velin’s chest flew after it while Velin and Kyle watched the projection.
  • Moravia wished his teacher well, then returned home to see his younger brother’s first child as the projection shattered.
  • Velin and Kyle returned to the alley, and Velin told Kyle that the disc had been taken.

Ch. 633Zelia, Ten Years Later

Velin learned that the black iron block was a valuable Star Core, then rested after returning from a seven-day Time-Space Projection. Ten years later, Zelia left a lecture at the First Mage Academy after receiving a message from someone waiting for him.

  • Kyle identified Velin's black iron block as a Star Core worth at least three thousand High-Grade Magic Crystals, and Velin let Kyle keep it.
  • Velin reunited with his guards, learned that seven days had passed in the Time-Space Projection, and sent Kyle to notify Knight Muller.
  • Velin returned to an inn, reflected on what he had learned about his grandfather, and fell asleep.
  • At the First Mage Academy, Zelia evaded Senior Gabriella and then entered a crowded lecture hall for Lord Osmond Aurelius's class.
  • After receiving a message on his Magic Communication Crystal, Zelia left his books with Adams and hurried toward the academy gates.

Ch. 634Zelia's Choice, Velin's Attitude!

Zexia reunited with Velin at the First Mage Academy, and Velin let him choose to stay and study rather than return to Qixing Territory. Velin then took Zexia to the Floating Fleet Base to meet Krell, who eagerly prepared to leave with them.

  • Gabriella spotted Zexia running toward the academy gates and followed him while concealed by an invisibility magic cloak.
  • Zexia met Velin and Kyle at the gates, and Velin invited him to describe his experiences over the past few years.
  • Velin asked Zexia whether he wanted to keep studying at the academy or return with him, then told him to stay and improve his skills.
  • Velin promised to show Zexia around the Royal Capital and help him find ways to earn money before taking him to the Floating Fleet Base to see Krell.
  • Krell learned that Velin had arrived, told Isolde to inform Italia he would be away for a few days, and asked Isolde about the first rule of joining the Floating Fleet.

Ch. 635Brothers

Velin reunited with his old friend Krell at Poem of Flowers Manor, where they reminisced and caught up on their lives. Velin asked Krell to find a reliable business to fund his subordinate’s experiments, and Krell promised to investigate within three days.

  • Krell left the Floating Base and met Velin at its gate, where they greeted each other and joked about their marriages.
  • Velin and Krell visited Poem of Flowers Manor, selected Garden No. 6, and reminisced while Kyle taught Zelia Transcendent knowledge nearby.
  • Velin asked Krell which royal capital business would reliably earn money so he could fund a subordinate’s experiments.
  • Krell agreed to have his Butler investigate suitable businesses and promised to report back in three days.
  • Velin told Krell about his plan to establish a Floating Fleet and invited him to become its first captain after the Faith Holy War.

Ch. 636Logistics Unit from the Holy Crusaders

Velin received the Expeditionary Army Command’s assignments for the Holy Crusaders and decided how to organize the units under his authority. He left the Thirty-Third Free Camp’s reorganization to Kyle’s plan and began issuing orders for the troops’ arrival.

  • Velin returned to camp and spent two months slacking off before the Command Department assigned fifteen thousand Holy Crusaders to his Fifteenth Army.
  • Velin planned to combine the Ninth and Twenty-Third Temple Knight Orders with the Star Moon Knight Order, assign the Thirteenth Longsword Camp to Brian, and place the Sixty-Ninth Church of Life Prayer Group under Lavia.
  • Kyle advised Velin to break up the Thirty-Third Free Camp and reorganize its suitable members into scout parties, sending unsuitable personnel to Lavia for logistics duty, and Velin agreed.
  • Kyle reported that Viscount Clever had been drilling five hundred troops, including one hundred knights equipped with Excellent Knight Equipment, and that his mount had become a Dragon Beast; Velin ordered secret observation.
  • Velin called for Hebrew and Dexhil to prepare for the Holy Crusaders’ arrival, but Hebrew left with twelve bottles of Glowing Wine before Velin finished giving his orders.

Ch. 637Blessing of the Goddess of Life

The Goddess of Life blessed the Expeditionary Army at Ades Barracks before opening a Space Bridge to the Nangexia Continent. The First Legion began its departure under Duke Ister, leaving Velin behind at the barracks to await his marching order.

  • Saintess Anastasia led the prayers as the Goddess of Life appeared and blessed the assembled troops.
  • The Goddess of Life strengthened the soldiers, and Velin gained enough power to become a High-Gold Druid.
  • The Goddess of Life opened a Space Bridge to the Ansa Kingdom, then departed as the expedition officially began.
  • Saintess Anastasia placed the Expeditionary Army and Holy Crusaders under Duke Ister's command, and he ordered the march.
  • Duke Ister named Marquis Fernal Cadrien's unit the Vanguard Army and sent the First Legion through the Space Bridge.
  • Velin returned to the barracks after the First Legion departed and waited for his order to march.

Ch. 638300 Million People? 300 Million People!

  • Velin learned that the Fourth Legion would deploy to North Forest City and set out with the Fifteenth Army on March 7.
  • The Fourth Legion traveled through the Space Bridge, and Velin learned that seven days had passed during what felt like an instant.
  • Marquis Rodenert ordered the Fourth Legion commanders to maintain order in their jurisdictions and warned that Gold professionals could fly under the Metagea Plane's rules.
  • Marquis Rodenert announced that Ansa Kingdom had a population of roughly 300 million, surprising most of the officers.
  • Marquis Rodenert presented a six-meter Winter Flower Rice plant and explained that each plant yielded one hundred jin of grain, helping support Ansa Kingdom's population.

Ch. 639Journey to Nax City—Assassin

Velin and Kyle explored Naris City with Vitris, who used Velin as cover to sneak out. Velin identified a street vendor as an assassin and marked him, then headed with Kyle to the city garrison.

  • Marquis Rodenert explained that Winter Flower Rice could not be brought back to the Kingdom of Isia because it depended on the Metagea Plane’s rules, and suggested looting food instead.
  • Velin and Kyle set out for Naris City, where Vitris joined them to escape underground and left them in an alley before heading to the opera house.
  • Velin revealed he had recorded Vitris’s excuse and planned to use the footage to bargain with him if needed.
  • Velin questioned a rice-puff vendor, gave him four Copper Coins, and secretly placed a five-pointed star mark on him after recognizing him as an assassin.
  • Velin shared grilled rice puffs with Kyle and led him toward the local garrison camp.

Ch. 640A Visit to Nax City—Tree Stump

Velin warned the North City District garrison about an assassin and accepted a mysterious tree stump in exchange for teaching Kailod a combat skill. After leaving Nax City, Velin and Kyle returned to camp, where Velin’s signed supply orders left Lavia embarrassed at the Expeditionary Army’s Logistics Department.

  • Velin told Kailod, deputy commander of the Sixty-Third Independent Battalion, about an assassin posing as a grilled rice puff vendor and gave him a leaf to track the target.
  • Kailod offered Velin a nearly indestructible tree stump containing powerful life energy, and Velin traded it for the Gold-grade combat skill Thousand Hammer Shatter and its cultivation guide.
  • Velin encouraged Kailod to become a Gold Warrior, then stored the stump in his Demiplane and left with Kyle.
  • Velin and Kyle discussed Kailod and recalled the fishman warrior Raskin as they strolled through Nax City.
  • The next morning, Velin held a military meeting and signed two supply documents, leaving Lavia to collect the supplies and endure the Inquisitor Knights’ stares.

Ch. 641Adrian's First Merit

Brian’s troops were attacked by coordinated magical beasts while marching through the jungle, and Adrian discovered and killed the Beast Callers controlling them. • Brian joked that Adrian had claimed the expedition’s first Battle Merit, then laughed and turned to handle the aftermath.

Ch. 642Lavia the Priest's Three Hundred Disciples' First Battle (Part One)

Velin ordered Priest Lavia and his three hundred disciples to attack the Ansa Kingdom force landing below the cliff. As the priests descended, the landing force's officer learned that their scouts had vanished and demanded that Bowen send men to find them.

  • After Brian reported that Adrian had killed a Gold professional and earned him Battle Merit, Velin ordered the army to rest before marching again.
  • Velin spotted Ansa Kingdom ships approaching the shore and sent Priest Lavia and the Priest Corps to deal with the landing force.
  • Lavia gathered three hundred priests, assigned Yaden to help prepare, and led them down the cliff ropes with two hundred Holy Crusaders following.
  • General Carlisle waited on the beach for Lady Aila's promised support while his troops remained uneasy after the kingdom's devastating defeat by the Life Goddess's Expeditionary Army.
  • Lord Dylan confronted Bowen after learning the scouts had been missing for nearly two hours, then ordered him to send men to find them.

Ch. 643Lavia's Three Hundred Disciples' First Battle (Part 2)

Lavia led his three hundred disciples in an attack on the Ansa Kingdom's Black Rock Island forces, while Carlisle ordered his troops to surrender rather than face the overwhelming enemy. Lavia returned to the encampment with more than a thousand prisoners and supplies worth tens of thousands of Gold Coins.

  • After giving his disciples divine buffs, Lavia sent them to attack the beach camp and ordered the Holy Crusaders to wait nearby.
  • Yaden and the disciples launched a sudden assault, throwing the Ansa Kingdom's troops into chaos.
  • Carlisle ordered his forces to retreat and then surrendered the thirteen sea vessels and their soldiers when Lavia approached.
  • Dylan condemned the surrender, killed himself, and fell into the sea.
  • Lavia brought the surrendered ships ashore, where the battle had ended and all three hundred disciples were safe.
  • Lavia ordered Yaden to summon the cleanup crew and Lafaya to bind the prisoners, then returned to the encampment with more than a thousand captives and valuable supplies.

Ch. 644Thoughts on Spreading the Faith

After the battle, Velin questioned the captured general Carlisle and learned that Lady Aila had sent him from Black Rock Island to join forces near Dongningsko Beach. Velin asked Priest Lavia to try converting the prisoners, hoping to build up his forces for the expedition and earn enough Battle Merit to become a Count.

  • Velin left his chess game with Kyle and heard Lavia report that his unit had defeated more than two thousand heretic soldiers without casualties.
  • Carlisle told Velin that Lady Aila had ordered him to bring troops from Black Rock Island to meet her Beast Callers near Dongningsko Beach.
  • Carlisle showed Velin Aila's portrait, and Velin revealed that she had already become Battle Merit for his cousin.
  • Velin told Lavia he wanted to convert the prisoners and expand his forces for the later stages of the war.
  • Lavia agreed to preach to the prisoners, and Velin promised him a new priest's staff as they watched the sun rise.

Ch. 645North Forest County

Velin arrived in North Forest City and toured the city with garrison general Hawthorne Milais, questioning him about its population, grain taxes, and mines. Velin left Hawthorne in charge of the city while reserving the right to send priests to preach there.

  • Hawthorne Milais and North Forest City’s faction leaders welcomed Velin and the Fifteenth Army at the southern gate.
  • Velin arrived on Little Red, then asked Hawthorne to show him around North Forest City.
  • Velin reviewed a report on the city’s population, learned that it collected 3.408 million tons of grain tax annually, and asked about its mines.
  • Hawthorne offered Velin more than twenty women, but Velin declined and told him to send them home.
  • Velin accepted the gifts in Hawthorne’s storeroom, kept Hawthorne in charge of North Forest City, and said he might send priests to preach there.

Ch. 646Searching for the Graveyard

Velin ordered Hebrew to search for the grave of Terry Ansell, Silas Ansell’s disciple, after Kyle identified three possible sites in North Forest County. Hebrew’s knights found thirteen burial sites near the coast and identified three graves beneath the sea as the ones they needed to excavate intact.

  • Velin spent two days resting in the Demiplane among the Tree of Life saplings and the animals he had moved there.
  • Kyle showed Velin a map marking three possible locations of Terry Ansell’s grave, and Velin ordered Hebrew to retrieve the burial objects without damaging the remains.
  • Hebrew gathered the Ice Bear Knight Order and led it to the coastal cliffs, where Sidon and the knights searched the shore and seabed.
  • Sidon reported that the knights had found thirteen burial sites and copied their inscriptions.
  • Hebrew identified three graves beneath the sea as Terry Ansell’s and ordered Sidon to assemble the troops to excavate them intact.

Ch. 647Velin Covets Silas Ansell's Tomb

Velin examined items recovered from a graveyard and found Silas Ansell’s diary, learning that the musket-maker was a fellow countryman. He then learned that Priest Lavia had converted the Black Rock Island prisoners of war and went to see them.

  • Velin dismissed Hebrew after finding a scrap of cloth among the graveyard items, then ordered Kyle to sort the objects by whether they had writing.
  • Velin read Silas Ansell’s diary and learned about Silas’s past life, journey to the royal capital, and encounter with the eldest princess of the Ansa Kingdom.
  • Velin speculated about why Silas had only created muskets and hoped to find records of Silas Ansell’s tomb in the Ansa royal family’s archives.
  • Velin asked Kyle to have Hawthorne find scholars to translate the Nangexia Script texts and declined an invitation to Hawthorne’s banquet.
  • Kyle told Velin that Priest Lavia had converted more than a thousand Black Rock Island prisoners of war to the Goddess of Life, and Velin set out to visit them with Anansi’s Sword.

Ch. 648Speculations About Giant Plants

Velin and Kyle inspected the Fifteenth Army’s logistical base and discussed why most of Valkam World’s inhabitants could not sense mana. After Lavia converted 1,336 prisoners of war to the Goddess of Life and won their allegiance, Velin formed the Blackrock Army and tasked it with seizing Black Rock Island.

  • Velin and Kyle toured the town and its enormous crops, then debated how Bloodline Factors and Valkam World’s laws shaped who could become a Transcendent.
  • Kyle shared his research that most native beings could not sense mana and that professionals possessed a Bloodline Factor linked to the Mark.
  • Velin and Kyle met Lavia, who reported that all 1,336 prisoners had abandoned the Beast God and agreed to serve the Goddess of Life under Velin’s command.
  • Lavia introduced Carlisle, the former defender of Black Rock Island, and Velin promised rewards for service and merit.
  • Three days later, Velin formed the Blackrock Army, appointed Carlisle as its general, and ordered it to seize Black Rock Island.

Ch. 649Attack Target—Stovia District

  • Velin received orders to lead the Fifteenth Army, the Eighteenth Army, and three Prayer Groups in an attack on Stovia District.
  • Velin gathered his troops and marched forty thousand soldiers to Cask Main Camp, where Rassel welcomed him.
  • Velin drank Rassel’s wine, passed out, and was carried back to his tent by Kyle.
  • Velin recovered the next afternoon and chose to attend the scheduled military meeting rather than postpone it.
  • Velin entered the meeting, addressed the commanders, and had Kyle display the map of Stovia District.

Ch. 650Canyon Mountain Ancient Road—The Young Marquis Edmund

Velin planned a swift invasion of the Stovia District and led his army out after receiving orders from Fourth Legion headquarters. In Solomon City, Alice Joyce tasked Marquis Edmund with holding Canyon Mountain Ancient Road for three months in exchange for Toriko Province.
