Higashino Kanade used the Shadow Clone Technique to create a clone. The clone formed an ordinary Rasengan in one hand and a Sage Art Rasengan in the other, then charged toward the attacking undead.
In the blink of an eye, Higashino Kanade's clone reached one of the undead and slammed both Rasengan into it at once.
Just as Higashino Kanade had expected, the instant the clone touched the undead, it was like striking the intangible Obito Uchiha. The two different Rasengan passed straight through the undead's body without causing any damage.
The undead reached out, grabbed Higashino Kanade's clone, and casually tore it apart.
Seeing Higashino Kanade's clone so easily defeated by the undead, everyone revealed astonished expressions, as though they could not believe what they were seeing. Jirobou Seigen Shitou laughed loudly. "Hahaha! Undead, tear him apart and avenge my mother!"
Jirobou Seigen Shitou wore a smug smile. The way he looked at Higashino Kanade was as though he were looking at a dead man, as if victory were already in his grasp.
Higashino Kanade smiled as well. Facing the undead flooding toward him from all directions, he showed not the slightest fear, as though they were not a horde of undead but a swarm of ants.
Just when everyone thought the "unfathomable" Higashino Kanade still had another trick up his sleeve, he said something that stunned them all.
"Senior sister, I'll leave it to you!"
Higashino Kanade immediately beat a retreat, darting behind Grea in a flash. Not a trace remained of his imposing appearance from moments ago.
Come on, I didn't come to this world to be some macho hero. When danger comes, fight if I can win; if I can't, then live off women.
This was the perfect time to live off Grea. If he could not bring himself to rely on a girl over something as pointless as pride, Higashino Kanade would never forgive himself.
In short, living off women was his ninja way!
Grea's support was delicious!
"Leave it to me! Add!"
Seeing the powerful Higashino Kanade actually take the initiative to ask for her help, Grea could not help but feel a surge of joy.
Someone actually needed someone as useless as her. She had to live up to her junior disciple's expectations!
Add immediately transformed inside the cage into a massive Scythe of the Grim Reaper. Grea gripped the enormous scythe tightly and, without a moment of hesitation, began to release the Holy Lance.
"Gray... Rave... Crave... Deprave."
With so many undead, even Grea alone would need at least half an hour to kill them all. During that time, the people she loved would surely be attacked. She did not want to see her teacher or junior disciple get hurt.
So, she intended to release the Holy Lance from the very beginning and wipe out every undead creature in one stroke!
"Grave... me..."
"Grave... for you."
Add's personality ceased functioning, and the Holy Lance's true form began to reveal itself before everyone's eyes.
Just before the undead came into contact with Grea, her chant was completed at exactly the right moment.
"Holy Lance, unanchor!"
Grea shouted, and the massive Scythe of the Grim Reaper transformed into a spear shining with blazing golden light.
The Mana in the air trembled violently as True Ether from the Age of Gods gushed forth. At that moment, Grea was like a true deity, and a sight that should have existed only in myth descended into reality.
"Rhongomyniad!"
The next instant, a gigantic pillar of golden light pierced through the sea of undead. As if they had encountered their natural nemesis, the undead were vaporized into ash by the golden beam. Even some undead far away were killed by the aftershock. Not a single one escaped.
What was more, the colossal beam still had power to spare as it pierced through the entire castle. More than half of Stripped City was reduced to dust and scattered away by that strike. A massive canyon hundreds of meters long and over twenty meters deep formed, filled with something flowing like scorching magma. It was more than enough to prove just how powerful this strike from the Age of Gods was.
"...I messed up..."
Yet the powerful girl who had unleashed that attack let out a whimper, too frightened to raise her head, like a puppy that had done something wrong.
P.S.: I know I wrote the protagonist's personality a little off course. I'll try my best to straighten it out. I bow to you all.

58. I've Been Coveting Your Disciple for Days
For the first time in her life, someone other than her teacher and her village needed her—and that person was her adorable junior disciple.
Grea wanted to answer Higashino Kanade's expectations. She wanted to protect everyone, so she decisively unsealed the Holy Lance. She wanted to prove that she could become someone everyone could rely on.
Those two joys mixed together. She should have been enjoying a dreamlike moment of happiness, so why had things turned out like this?
"...I used too much force..." Grea's expression looked as though she were about to cry. In her panic, she had not even noticed that her face had been exposed.
Grea knew very well that she was poor and that her teacher was poor. Yet she had just destroyed more than half of Stripped City. Would they have to pay for that?
"Teacher, do we have to pay compensation?" Like a child who had made a mistake, Grea looked at Waver with pleading eyes.
Waver's hands trembled as he lit himself a cigar. After taking several hard puffs, his tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly, though it was still obvious that he was in a terrible mood.
"N-No, it's fine. We can just pin all of this on Gryphon. The excuse of a Mage's Workshop accidentally going berserk is quite good. Besides, Gryphon himself caused all of this. The Clock Tower won't hold us victims responsible." Waver tried to find himself a way out.
Waver was famously broke at the Clock Tower. He carried the debts of the entire El-Melloi family on his back. The money he made on ordinary days all went toward repaying debts, and he had no savings at all, so he was terrified of taking on another debt.
He probably would not have to pay for the destroyed castle, and the Department of Law and Politics would likely reclaim this land afterward. But Waver feared that someone with ulterior motives would shift the blame onto him and saddle him with some inexplicable debt.
After all, there were a great many people at the Clock Tower who disliked him. It would not be surprising if someone kicked him while he was down at a time like this. He did not want to shoulder an unjust debt.
"Waver, how about I give you ten million dollars, and you let me have your disciple?" Seeing Waver worrying over money, Higashino Kanade decisively seized the opportunity.
"Why?" Waver looked confused. What did this boy want with his disciple? Was he after King Arthur's Holy Lance?
"To be honest, I've been coveting your disciple for days. You saw it too—I had no way to deal with those undead at all. Your disciple happens to make up for that weakness of mine. How about giving Grea to me as a disciple? I have experience being a teacher too." Higashino Kanade asked tentatively. Although he knew he would most likely be refused, if Waver agreed, it would be a massive profit.
As for teaching experience, after becoming a Jonin, Higashino Kanade had led Genin for a time. It had only been a few months, but it still counted as some experience.
"Ten million dollars..."
Waver's hand shook even harder. Even for a Magus, ten million was no small sum.
"But I refuse!"
After hesitating for three seconds, Waver ultimately did not sell his disciple. "Grea and I are only teacher and disciple. I have no right to order her to do anything, much less sell her. If Grea truly wishes to take you as her teacher, I will not stop her."
"Teacher..." Tears welled up in Grea's eyes. Waver held a very high place in Grea's heart because he had been the first person to tell her that he hated her face. Grea respected Waver deeply.
"Um, junior disciple, if you're afraid of undead, I can protect you. Please don't say things like that again in the future." Kind-hearted Grea did not forget to comfort Higashino Kanade.
"It's fine, I was joking. Where would I get ten million dollars to give you?" Higashino Kanade mocked himself as he rubbed his wildly spiked hair after transforming, while confirming something in his heart.
Sure enough, in this timeline, Grea's affection for Waver had already reached an unshakable level. Separating them was basically impossible.
Although he had lost a long-term source of support, Higashino Kanade did not feel discouraged.
First, this world was only a parallel world. Even if Higashino Kanade won Grea over, he might not be able to take her back with him.
Second, he had already found a way to win Grea over. He only needed to return to his original world, find Grea ahead of time, and steal her away from Waver.
Winning Grea over here did not mean making her his wife. It meant taking Grea as his disciple and having her serve as his bodyguard.
During this battle against the undead, Higashino Kanade had deeply realized his weakness. No, it should be called a flaw—a congenital disability, even.
Before he drew either the Rinnegan or Dan Katō's Spirit Transformation Technique, Higashino Kanade was about as helpless against undead as an infant incapable of resisting. Keeping a bodyguard who could counter undead by his side would be immensely meaningful to him.
As for why Ryougi Shiki could not serve as that bodyguard, there were two reasons. First, due to Higashino Kanade's interference, it was almost impossible for Ryougi Shiki to awaken the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, so she had little means of dealing with undead as well. Second, Ryougi Shiki's affection for him was not high enough yet. Higashino Kanade did not know whether the Root Shiki within her would save him if he encountered danger. He did not dare gamble with his own life.
Higashino Kanade was not a good person. His moral standards were below average, and he was a covert egoist. After all, what decent person lived off women?
After reincarnating, Higashino Kanade had only one wish: to stay alive, then live a good life.
As long as he could achieve that wish, it did not matter if he lived off several more women. As long as he did not betray the girls who supported him and found chances to repay their kindness, that was enough.
"Let's end this touching teacher-disciple scene here. It's time to put an end to this matter."
Luvia walked up to Higashino Kanade as though nothing had happened, then seemingly casually placed herself between him and Waver's teacher-disciple pair, like a lady lord guarding her territory.
Luvia had seen Higashino Kanade's value clearly during this battle. In her heart, she had long since marked him as belonging to the Edelfelt Family. She did not want her spoils running off with someone else.
"Well said. I'll go finish him off."
As if afraid Jirobou Seigen Shitou might pull some new trick, Higashino Kanade hurriedly drew a Kunai and prepared to head over, only to be stopped by both Waver and Grea.
"I know this request is excessive, but this old man still wishes to beg you to let me handle that child."
Though he looked like a youth, he gave off the impression of an old man in his twilight years. He walked before Higashino Kanade and the others, then heavily kowtowed to them.
Higashino Kanade recognized him. He was Orlok's personal servant. Higashino Kanade had thought he had already died in the attack by the magical beasts.
"You are Lord Orlok, aren't you?" Waver's voice was low and steady, and he did not sound as though he were joking at all.
"As expected, nothing can be hidden from you, Lord El-Melloi II." The youth raised his head, revealing the bitter smile of a defeated man.
P.S.: Second update.
The previous cover was censored. I hope you all like the new cover.
59. Higashino Kanade's Reflection
"This body is a puppet I made using my own bodily fluids and blood. Before I was attacked just now, I had already transferred my memories and personality into this body, so I was able to barely cling to life."
The youth covered one arm with his other hand, as though desperately enduring something. Beneath his calm expression lay obvious pain.
"Such a hasty personality transfer cannot prolong your life at all. Lord Orlok, I'm afraid you do not have much time left." Waver turned away, seemingly unable to bear seeing Orlok in such a miserable state.
"This body is already collapsing. I should die of old age within three hours, but there is enough time." The young Orlok smiled faintly. Several obvious wrinkles appeared at the corners of his eyes, and several strands of his originally golden hair turned white.
"Please allow me to bring this matter to an end."
Orlok kowtowed to everyone once more. It was hard to imagine that a man once so proud now appeared as humble as a beggar pleading for his life.
After hesitating briefly, Waver nodded. Naturally, Grea had no objections. Even Luvia, who had been thoroughly played for a fool, said nothing and tacitly accepted Orlok's request.
Orlok looked pleadingly at Higashino Kanade, who was still transformed. Higashino Kanade helplessly spread his hands. "Go ahead. I won't interfere. After all, I'm not some demon."
In Higashino Kanade's view, giving a former enemy another chance was an extremely foolish thing to do. But with everyone else agreeing, he could not say much. He would consider it a rare act of kindness. Besides, with Grea here, any schemes he tried would be useless.
"Thank you so very much!"
After rising to his feet, the young Orlok gave a deep bow, then walked with difficulty toward the crater where Jirobou Seigen Shitou lay.
At that moment, Jirobou Seigen Shitou had fallen into a daze from the blow. He had already used his final means, yet he had still failed. His heart was engulfed by despair.
Jirobou Seigen Shitou had wanted to fulfill his father Gryphon's ambitions, only to discover that the truth was vastly different from what he had imagined. He loved his parents deeply, but he was an illegitimate child born from his mother's affair.
His father had been killed by her lover, his mother had been transformed into a magical beast, and his conspiracy with the Department of Law and Politics had been destroyed. He was a complete failure. All he could do now was wait for death to come.
"Granit..."
The young Orlok knelt beside Jirobou Seigen Shitou and extended a wrinkled hand to gently stroke his head, as tenderly as if caressing a child in swaddling clothes.
Jirobou Seigen Shitou recognized Orlok's true identity at a glance. His extinguished fighting spirit flared up once more, and his utterly exhausted body squeezed out its final trace of strength.
At least... at least I have to avenge Father!!!
Jirobou Seigen Shitou pulled a short blade from his long sleeve and stabbed it into Orlok's stomach. Orlok spat out a mouthful of blood, but the affection in his eyes did not diminish in the slightest.
"This... is my last Butterfly Magecraft. At least... let me give you peace."
A deep blue butterfly flew from Orlok's sleeve and landed on Jirobou Seigen Shitou's head.
The hatred in Jirobou Seigen Shitou's eyes immediately dissolved. The hand gripping the knife loosened weakly, and his entire body fell into a deep sleep.
Having witnessed everything, Higashino Kanade let out a breath of relief and withdrew from the Curse Mark of Heaven state.
His ash-black skin returned to porcelain-like whiteness. His blue-black Saiyan-like hair, along with the horns and bat wings, receded. The demonic-looking boy returned to being a handsome young man.
Then Higashino Kanade began coughing up blood.
"Urgh—"
A huge spray of blood burst from his mouth. Higashino Kanade dropped to his knees in agony, his entire body shaking violently from the extreme pain.
"The Curse Mark of Heaven really has a heavy burden." Higashino Kanade could not even force out a bitter smile now.
The greatest difference between the Curse Mark of Heaven and Sage Mode was that the Curse Mark of Heaven forcibly drew out the body's power. The longer it was used, the greater the harm it caused to the body.
This was Higashino Kanade's first transformation, and this body was only twelve years old. The burden imposed by the Curse Mark of Heaven was far greater than he had imagined, so the moment he left the transformed state, he began vomiting blood.
Ten minutes had passed since he transformed. During that time, Higashino Kanade had not dared relax for even a moment. Excessive caution was a habit he had developed on the battlefield.
It was like playing a game: you had just killed someone and returned to base with low health, then opened the shop. You thought you were safe for the moment, unaware that the enemy jungler had already thrown a skill at you.
Only after confirming Orlok's death and Jirobou Seigen Shitou's unconsciousness—only after the enemy's crystal had shattered—did Higashino Kanade truly lower his guard and cancel his transformation.
Higashino Kanade's sudden coughing of blood frightened everyone. Grea and Luvia hurriedly supported him to keep him from falling, both of them as anxious as if an earthquake had struck.
