Background / History

Wendy was a gifted St. Freya student trained directly by Theresa. Driven by a desire to surpass Durandal, she devoted herself to Valkyrie training, completed independent anti-Honkai missions at a young age, and pursued the power promised by the Gem of Desire experiment. 5 7 14 34

Schicksal’s Oceanic Branch implanted the Gem of Desire in her as part of the Divine Right Plan. The experiment left both of her legs without sensation and confined her to a wheelchair, while the Branch’s researchers treated her as an inconvenient test subject dependent on machine assistance. 1 2

Although the Branch later suspended the plan, the Gem’s rejection reaction had disappeared because it had fused with Wendy. Chen Ran continued the research privately and moved her to the Far East Branch, where she resumed life at St. Freya. 13 14 19

Appearance

Before becoming a Herrscher, Wendy is a young Valkyrie who uses a wheelchair following the Gem infusion experiment. Her appearance resembles Seele’s enough for Bronya to mistake her for her sister at first glance. 2 19 36

After becoming wheelchair-bound, Wendy remains resilient rather than dependent. She continues weapons practice, trains Chen Ran, and later volunteers to teach St. Freya students so that her own suffering can warn them of the dangers Valkyries may face. 8 19
