You're Right, but This Is Kashtira!

"Have you forgotten that we're dueling in Master Duel? Only cards recognized by the rules can possibly be used in this duel."

Youye smiled slightly, reminding the two women. He understood Munin and Sheng Ning's fear, but while Unicorn was strong as a standalone card, it still fell far short of Fenrir!

Fenrir's standalone power was truly maxed out. Bystial Lubellion—you'd run it if you had it!

Munin and Sheng Ning froze at Youye's words.

That was right! This was Master Duel. If Unicorn could be used here, then it was a card acknowledged by the Dueling Rules!

Just as they came to that realization, Youye continued his play.

"I activate Unicorn's second effect. Once per turn per card name, I add one Kashtira Spell Card to my hand."

"I chain at C2, activating the set Quick-Play Spell Runick Flashing Fire, targeting the Unicorn on your field. Destroy it, then banish the top two cards of your deck!"

Munin used her interruption without hesitation.

Unicorn was far too overpowered. If she let it remain on the field for several turns, her Extra Deck would be completely crippled. Moreover, because of the Dimension-type hand trap Youye had activated last turn, if she destroyed Unicorn, it would be banished. It would basically never return to this duel!

Effects resolved in reverse order: C2 Runick Flashing Fire destroyed Unicorn, then banished two cards. (Unicorn banished.)

For C1 Unicorn's effect, Youye added the Normal Spell Visas Samsara to his hand. (Fun fact: destruction does not equal negation and destruction.)

"Since I activated a Quick-Play Spell, the effect of the Continuous Spell Runick Tip banishes the top card of your deck!"

After the chain resolved, Munin struck back again, banishing the top card of Youye's deck!

"Ah—why are you banishing my cards? Well, that does it. The duel is over!"

Looking at the card that had been banished, Youye gazed at Munin with a helpless expression.

Munin: ???

Banishing his card meant she had lost? What kind of logic was that? Why could she not understand a single word Youye was saying?

Very quickly, Munin thought of a startling possibility. Kashtira could retrieve banished cards!

The thought left Munin utterly incredulous!

Because banishing cards and recovering banished cards were two entirely different things. Take Runick, for example: she could banish other people's cards, but she could not use any banish-related cards herself. Once something was banished, there was no way to recover it within the system!

"Looks like you've figured it out, Munin. That's right, Kashtira has Archetype Cards that can recover banished cards!"

"However, before that, an old friend who just left will make another appearance!"

As Youye's words fell, Unicorn leaped from his hand once more.

Unicorn? An old friend?

Munin: That wasn't me, I didn't say that, don't make things up!

"Next, I activate the Continuous Spell Kashtira Birth. Once per turn per card name, Birth can Special Summon one Kashtira monster from the Banish Zone. I choose to Special Summon the Kashtira Fenrir that was just banished by your Continuous Spell!"

The instant Youye's voice fell, a red-and-black figure resembling Unicorn and wielding two axes appeared. The moment it appeared, Munin felt that Fenrir was even more terrifying than Unicorn—a target that demanded one hundred percent of her attention. If it were an opponent, she would have to eliminate it at any cost.

When she opened the card information, she discovered that Fenrir was different from Unicorn. Youye had not revealed its effect, so aside from its archetype and ATK, she knew nothing else.

"I activate the effect of Scareclaw Kashtira from my hand. I Special Summon it in Defense Position, then banish one Kashtira card from my hand or GY. I choose to banish the Visas Samsara in my hand!"

"Visas Samsara's banished effect lets me add one banished Kashtira monster to my hand. I choose to add the Kashtira Ogre you banished to my hand!"

"The other effect of the Continuous Spell Birth allows me to summon Level 7 monsters without Tributing. Therefore, I Normal Summon the Level 7 Kashtira Ogre from my hand!"

"Entering the Battle Phase!"

Youye made his declaration.

"You're not going to keep playing? Putting aside the fact that you aren't locked into anything, all the monsters on your field are Level 7. Isn't Kashtira an archetype that focuses on Xyz Summoning?" Munin's solemn expression was filled with confusion.

Munin's words made Youye sigh bitterly inwardly. Focused on Xyz Summoning? That was pure Kashtira!

Since there was no lock, Kashtira later became the representative of Rank 7 Goodstuff. Rank 7 Xyz, Rank 7 Synchro—the most classic was Little Airplane into Apollousa. Anything you could think of could be used. Its versatility was absurdly high.

"The duel is already over. There's no need to continue." After reminiscing about the past, Youye made that declaration, leaving Munin and Sheng Ning confused.

They admitted that among the four monsters on Youye's field, three had their ATK boosted by the field, and even the weakest, Fenrir, had 2700 ATK. But Munin still had Hugin on the field to take the hit. Without Piercing Battle Damage or another effect to destroy Hugin, Munin could hold on.

Seeing the two women remain silent, Youye revealed a mischievous smile. "Kashtira cards themselves do not have Piercing Battle Damage, but Scareclaw Kashtira can attack while in Defense Position. Its DEF is effectively its ATK!"

After saying that, Youye declared an attack with Scareclaw Kashtira against Hugin, destroying Hugin. Hugin's effect returned her to the Extra Deck.

But Youye no longer cared. The three Kashtira brothers each threw a punch and finished off Munin. Incidentally, none of the three brothers activated their effects.

"I lost. Completely and wholeheartedly. As expected of the Great Banisher—my Runick archetype can't compare!"

After it ended, Munin let out a long sigh and looked at Youye with a complicated expression.

If Sheng Ning had not told her beforehand that the Youye before her was a complete amateur duelist who did not even have a deck, she truly would not have dared believe that the person Sheng Ning described could possibly match the Youye standing before her.

"It's fine. Runick is strong too. You just used it the wrong way. Letting others freely make moves like that—this is the first time I've ever seen such a humane way of imprisoning someone."

Youye waved his hand as he answered. He was not being modest. If Munin had been using Stun Runick, then she could have simply flipped Imperial Colosseum and Skill Drain. He definitely would not have won so easily.

"Wait, Munin's setup was still considered humane imprisonment?"

Sheng Ning finally snapped out of the duel, looking at Youye strangely. Munin had only run into him; against anyone else, she would banish card after card until all their cards were gone. How was that humane? Why had Sheng Ning never noticed it when she dueled Munin before?

"What? Want to see how underworld Runick duels? Come on, log in! I'll let you experience it. I guarantee you'll never forget it for the rest of your life!"

With a wicked smile, Youye slowly spoke as he looked at Sheng Ning.

It wasn't that the update had stopped. This flop author listened to the veterans' advice and scheduled everything in advance. (A flop author crying bitterly.)
