Background / History
Kashtira originates from the Sixth Visas Starfrost, where its stronghold is Kashtira Shangri-Ira. Reichheart left the world more than fifty years earlier to capture slaves, while Fenrir, Unicorn, and Ogre remained among its known Spirits. Fenrir had already become Youye's Spirit four years before the Zeng Family incident. 65 75
When stranded Zeng Family elites arrived in Kashtira Shangri-Ira, Fenrir challenged Zeng Wang. Fenrir demonstrated Kashtira's zone-locking strategy, summoned Arise-Heart, sealed Zeng Wang's usable zones, and killed him after the duel. 65 66
Tearlaments Kashtira later informed Youye that defeating Reichheart was the condition for obtaining the full Kashtira Archetype. Fenrir and Tearlaments Kashtira had already publicized Youye's dueling achievements among the other Kashtira Spirits, causing nearly all of them to favor joining him. 75 114
Reichheart appeared in Hangcheng demanding human slaves and challenged Youye. He restricted Youye's Tearlaments cards, used Kashtira's face-down banishment and zone locks, and declared that Kashtira would never serve a human. After Youye broke his field with a Branded strategy, Reichheart transformed into Arise-Heart and proposed a Kashtira mirror match. 113 114 115
Youye used a Kashtira Banish Deck incorporating Necroface and Cyberdark cards to banish Arise-Heart's entire Deck. Arise-Heart surrendered, released the captives, granted Youye the Archetype, and offered Kashtira's loyalty; Youye refused the accompanying proposal to dominate the world. 115 116
Appearance
Kashtira Spirits are generally red-and-black armored combatants whose presence produces intense pressure and hostility. Their principal members differ sharply in weaponry and form. 10 65 114
- Kashtira Unicorn — red-and-black body; carries a red spear; has two horns and sharp back spikes. 10
- Kashtira Fenrir — wears exoskeletal armor and wields two axes. 65
- Kashtira Ogre — appears alongside Fenrir and Unicorn as a large Spirit carrying a massive axe. 65
- Kashtira Shangri-Ira — a massive dark-red cocoon whose manifestation spreads dark-red patterns through the surrounding area. 114
- Kashtira Arise-Heart — a black-and-red metal-clad figure with blue light in its left hand and a giant axe in its right. Its appearance provokes anger in nearby humans and Spirits. 114
Abilities & Skills
Level 7 Deployment and Searching
Kashtira is built around rapidly placing Level 7 monsters on the field, then converting them into Rank 7 Xyz Monsters.
- Kashtira Unicorn can Special Summon itself when its controller has no monsters and search a Kashtira Spell. 10 116
- Kashtira Fenrir can be Special Summoned from the hand and search a Kashtira monster, including Reichheart or Riseheart. 113 129
- Kashtira Reichheart can Special Summon itself while its controller has a Kashtira monster, then banish a Kashtira card from the Deck to banish three opposing cards face-down and become Level 7. 114
- Kashtira Birth can recover a Kashtira monster from the Banish Zone and permits Normal Summons of Level 7 monsters without Tributing. 11
Face-Down Banishment
Kashtira weaponizes face-down banishment, making opposing cards difficult to recover and turning each banished card into further pressure.
- Riseheart and Reichheart can banish cards from the opponent's Deck face-down. 114 129
- Kashtira Fenrir can banish a face-up opposing card face-down, including through its effect triggered by an attack declaration. 130
- Kashtira Unicorn threatens the opponent's Extra Deck, which led Munin to immediately destroy it rather than allow it to remain on the field. 11
- Youye used a Kashtira Banish Deck to banish Arise-Heart's entire Deck, forcing a surrender. 116
- Against Sima Jie, Kashtira's chained effects banished all 18 cards remaining in the opponent's Deck face-down. 129
Zone Locking
Kashtira Shangri-Ira seals Main Monster Zones and Spell & Trap Zones whenever cards are banished face-down.
- Shangri-Ira can designate an unused zone and prevent its use while it remains face-up. 114
- Multiple triggers can progressively eliminate an opponent's available zones. 66 116
- Fenrir used the lock strategy to leave Zeng Wang with no usable zones. 66
- The strategy is especially dangerous when paired with Cyberdark effects that banish additional cards face-down. 116
Rank 7 Versatility
Kashtira's Level 7 bodies and lack of broad Archetype self-restrictions allow it to serve as a flexible Rank 7 engine rather than only a pure Archetype.
- Kashtira can access Rank 7 Xyz, Synchro, and Link plays. 11 75
- Youye used Unicorn and Fenrir to summon Kashtira Shangri-Ira, then used further Level 7 bodies for Number 89: Diablosis the Mind Hacker. 129
- In the National Tournament, Youye used Kashtira's Rank 7 engine to access Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk, Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon, Borreload Savage Dragon, and Psychic End Punisher. 131
- Some Kashtira effects impose an Extra Deck restriction to Xyz Monsters for the turn. 114 129
Arise-Heart
Kashtira Arise-Heart is the Archetype's ace and one of its principal enablers.
- It can be Xyz Summoned over a Kashtira monster after Shangri-Ira activates its effect. 114
- When cards are banished, it can attach a banished card as Xyz Material, once per Chain. 114 116
- Its presence intensifies Kashtira's zone-locking and banishment engine. 116
- Unlike most Kashtira monsters, Arise-Heart and Shangri-Ira are noted as exceptions to the Archetype's general lack of destruction resistance. 166 167

- Kashtira Fenrir — Youye's Spirit and the earliest confirmed Kashtira member aligned with him; Fenrir openly argues that Youye is worthy of commanding Kashtira. 65 114

Story Role / Major Arcs
Duel against Munin
Youye first unveils Kashtira against Munin's Runick Deck. Dimension Shifter converts both players' sends to the Graveyard into banishment, allowing Youye to recover Fenrir through Kashtira Birth and defeat Munin with a Kashtira-based field. 9 10 11
Zeng Family Annihilation
Fenrir confronts the stranded Zeng Family in Kashtira Shangri-Ira, rejects Zeng Wang's attempt to exploit Kashtira against Youye, and kills him after demonstrating a complete zone lock. 65 66
Reichheart's Slave-Capture Incident
Reichheart arrives in Hangcheng to capture slaves, restricts the rules of challengers' duels, and attempts to lock Youye out with pure Kashtira. Youye defeats Reichheart's first board, then wins the resulting mirror match by banishing Arise-Heart's Deck. 113 114 115 116
National Tournament
Youye employs Kashtira as a face-down banishment and Rank 7 engine against Sima Jie. The first game ends with Sima Jie's entire Deck banished face-down; the subsequent game shows Kashtira transitioning into an Auroradon-based board. 129 130 131
Later Competitive Use
Kashtira remains one of Youye's adaptable engines. He uses it for hand destruction against Xie Linpiao in the Round of 16 and considers preparing a dedicated face-down-banish Kashtira Deck Build for Dong Yu. 166 240
Notable Quotes
“Our Kashtira is already your Archetype. Do you want to lead us Kashtira to conquer the world?” — Fenrir's implied invitation to Youye 116
“Compared to them, is Brother Youye an ordinary human Duelist? He's the strongest human Duelist in history. Of course, a human Duelist like that can command us Kashtira!” — Arise-Heart 117
Trivia
- Youye assesses pure Kashtira as stronger than pure Tearlaments in a direct comparison, placing the matchup at “6–4” in Kashtira's favor; he considers fully realized Ishizu Tearlaments overwhelmingly stronger than fully realized Kashtira. 18
- Kashtira's ordinary monsters are powerful individually but are known to lack destruction resistance, making board-clearing cards a major weakness once opponents know the Archetype. 129 166
- Kashtira's Spirits regard Cyberdark as a major upgrade to their strategy because it multiplies face-down banishment and therefore Shangri-Ira's zone-locking triggers. 116
