Origin and Nature

The Primordial Wilderness originated from Great God Pangu. Pangu attempted to reach the Primordial Limitless Golden Immortal—also called the Great Dao Realm—but only attained a half-step realm before exhausting his power; his body then transformed into the Primordial Wilderness. 22

It is a vast world of mountains, rivers, spiritual veins, mortal territories, immortal domains, stars, and the Netherworld. Its territory is described as containing billions of miles of mountains and rivers, making even locating a single mortal pass a difficult task. 253

Cosmological Order

The Three Paths

The Primordial Wilderness contains three fundamental paths that were originally meant to stand on equal footing:

The early awakening of the Heavenly Path allowed it to dominate the world for a time, but the emergence of the Human and Earth Paths gradually created a three-sided balance. 58 108

Laws, Merit, and Karma

• The world operates through fundamental laws such as space, time, metal, wood, water, fire, earth, lightning, wind, rain, and weather. Cultivators who deeply comprehend a law weaken the Heavenly Dao's authority over that law. 31
• Merit is granted when a being performs an act greatly beneficial to the Primordial Wilderness or its living beings; Pangu's World Opening Merit is the foremost example. 439
• Conversely, actions that harm the world can create immense Karmic Debt. When Zhen Yuanzi spread divine thunder through the earth via the Earth Book, the resulting destruction caused his karmic burden to visibly accumulate. 415
• During major Tribulations, Malevolent Qi disrupts heavenly secrets and weakens the Heavenly Dao's ability to observe and interfere across the world. 317

Inhabitants and Civilizations

Demon Race

All beings possessing spiritual awareness may be recognized as demons under the Demon Way. The Demon Race was established by Di Jun, Taiyi, and Xuan Yang to provide a cultivation path and protection for demon spirits across the Primordial Wilderness. 33 246

The Demon Way openly competed with Hongjun's Immortal Way, reducing the number of beings dependent on the Heavenly Dao's preferred cultivation system. 246

Witch Tribe

The Witch Tribe originated from Pangu's essence blood and possesses World Opening Merit. Its Twelve Ancestral Witches bear supreme laws essential to the world's operation, making their existence a fundamental threat to Heavenly Dao control. 31 439

After joining the Earth Path, the Ancestral Witches were required to enter the Underworld and undertake duties connected to reincarnation and the dead. 49

Human Race

The Human Race became the new protagonist of the Primordial Wilderness after the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Although physically weaker than the Demon Race and Witch Tribe, humanity's immense population, civilization, and rising destiny made it an unavoidable force. 291

Cangjie's creation of writing established the Literary Dao. His three thousand characters resonated with three thousand fundamental laws and concepts of the Primordial Wilderness, including heaven, earth, humanity, sun, moon, mountains, rivers, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. 272
