History

Ancient inheritance

The Lei Clan traces its legacy to a final Dou Di ancestor. His hidden inheritance, sealed within a portrait in the clan library, remained inaccessible for thousands of years until Lei Dong activated it with his blood. The ancestor described the clan as formerly among the continent's foremost powers, but lamented that it had produced no Dou Di for nearly ten thousand years and lacked even a Nine Star Dou Sheng at that time 3.

Lei Dong inherited the Heaven Rank Peak Ten Thousand Lightning Technique, the ancestor's Battle Skills, and the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning. The inheritance was restricted to a lightning-attribute bearer with a God Grade Bloodline, making Lei Dong its sole viable successor 3 4 5.

Rise of Lei Dong

Lei Dong was born as Lei Ying's first child and rapidly became the clan's foremost young genius. His Ninth Grade Bloodline test led Lei Ying to formally appoint him Young Clan Leader; the elders and younger generation raised no objection because the clan respects strength above all else 1 2.

His secluded cultivation pressured the Lei Realm's younger generation into intensive training. By the time of the Lei Clan Grand Ceremony, Lei Yun, Lei Dian, Lei Yu, and Lei Kong had all reached the Dou King realm, while Lei Dong used the competition to demonstrate the value of relentless cultivation 5 6 9.

Strengthening the clan

Lei Dong and the elders Lei Rao, Lei Miao, and Lei Yang discovered a large population of Lightning Spirit Essences and a unique Red Lightning. The clan collected the creatures' Magic Cores, which could be refined into Lightning Thunder Pills for lightning-attribute cultivators 102 103.

The resulting Lei Dian Pills produced ten new Dou Sheng, sharply expanding the clan's high-end fighting force. The clan chose to reveal the achievement through a grand celebration despite the risk of attracting attention 105 106.

Lei Dong also arranged for Qing Lin's Serpent Net to be planted across other clans during the Lei Clan Coming of Age Ceremony. The network later provided intelligence on the Soul Clan's destruction of the Spirit Clan and its infiltration of the ancient clans 76 153.

Conflict with the Soul Clan

The Lei Clan joined the Five Clan Alliance against the Soul Clan after the Spirit Clan's destruction and the discovery of Soul Clan agents within the other ancient clans 170 171. Lei Ying challenged Soul Emperor directly during the alliance's decisive battle, reflecting both his personal rivalry and the clan's battle-oriented nature 172.

The Soul Clan later assaulted the Lei Realm to seize its Tuoshe Ancient Jade. Although Lei Ying killed Soul Sha and Soul Jing, two Eight Star Dou Sheng who remained as a rearguard, Void Swallowing Flame's forces successfully stole the Lei Clan's jade before withdrawing 209 210.

Lei Dong prevented an immediate pursuit, arguing that the enhanced Soul Clan forces would destroy the Lei Clan if provoked recklessly. His counsel persuaded Lei Ying and the elders to preserve their strength rather than seek immediate revenge 210.

Ancient Jade diplomacy

To redirect Soul Clan pressure and buy time for cultivation, Lei Dong gave the Xiao Clan's Ancient Jade to the Gu Clan. The decision was unpopular among some elders, who viewed it as a blow to the Lei Clan's pride, but Lei Teng, Lei Nong, and other senior figures supported it as a necessary long-term measure 255 256 273.

Lei Dong later defended the decision before the elders by arguing that incomplete Ancient Jades were merely ordinary jade and that the Lei Clan's future outweighed its face. His Emperor Realm Soul Power and Eight Star Dou Sheng strength further solidified his authority within the clan 273.

• The Coming of Age Ceremony uses a Star Plate to assess bloodline and strength. Lei Long applies awarded tattoos, while the Seven-Colored Heavenly Emperor Brush is reserved for exceptional clan marks 77 79.
