Background

Huo Zhi was born into the Flame Clan and developed an intense fascination with Strange Fires from childhood. Before marrying into the Lei Clan, she believed that her talent would eventually earn her a Strange Fire from her clan. Her marriage instead left her excluded from the Flame Clan's allocation, intensifying her fear that she would become only a political ornament. 16 32 55

Five years after Lei Dong defeated her brother Huo Xuan, Huo Zhi challenged Lei Dong to avenge what she perceived as an insult. At the time, she had cultivated to Three-Star Dou Zong, but Lei Dong effortlessly restrained her and his white flame dispersed her own. The defeat forced her to recognize the enormous gap between them. 13 14

The Flame and Lei Clans subsequently arranged her marriage to Lei Dong for their alliance. Huo Zhi initially resented the decision and regarded it as the loss of her future in the Flame Clan. 16

After suffering trauma and fearing that her bloodline had become disordered, Huo Zhi was offered the Flame Mantra by Lei Dong. He later provided multiple Strange Fires and support for her cultivation, allowing her to pursue strength rather than remain a “vase.” 30 32 55

Personality

Huo Zhi is proud, hot-tempered, and highly sensitive to humiliation. Her first conflict with Lei Dong was driven by five years of resentment over Huo Xuan’s defeat and her inability to close the distance through cultivation. 14

Her deepest ambition is the pursuit of Strange Fires and cultivation strength. She accepts considerable danger in developing the Flame Mantra and experimenting with fused flames because she refuses to live as a powerless political wife. 32 55
