Rorschach's Mutant Ability

"When I was very young, I always thought that one day I would make myself normal. That was a dream I always had."

"Rorschach, I don't know if you can relate, because you look normal to begin with. When you walk outside, no one looks at you strangely."

"But I'm different. I've had enough of that!"

Hank's voice continued, interrupting Rorschach's thoughts.

"So Hank, what do you need me to do?"

Even though he had already guessed what Hank wanted, Rorschach pretended not to know and asked him.

"Rorschach, I know my request might be a bit presumptuous, but… could I collect some blood samples from you?"

Hank hesitated for a moment before speaking to Rorschach.

"I've actually been researching how to cure my condition recently, and I've made a breakthrough. I'm just one step away, and I need a reference sample."

"I only need a tiny blood sample from you."

Hank looked at Rorschach with anticipation.

"I'm very sorry, Hank, but I'm quite uncomfortable with that."

Rorschach refused Hank without a second thought.

His body was modified by the System, not by the X-gene within him.

That's right, Rorschach actually had the X-gene too. He was a genuine mutant. Otherwise, why would his predecessor have been brought back to the CIA's secret base by Professor X?

As for Rorschach's mutant abilities, they weren't always apparent. However, at certain specific times, they could be extremely useful: underwater breathing.

His skin could directly absorb the surrounding air!

Of course, Rorschach's underwater breathing was different from the Deep from the Seven.

Deep's body structure had changed, with gills growing on his chest and abdomen, similar to a fish.

Rorschach didn't have that.

Rorschach's body showed no signs of being abnormal. He didn't need to swallow air and water into his body to breathe underwater; he could absorb it directly from the surrounding water.

This ability, to be honest, was mostly useless, very situational.

Rorschach had never told anyone about it.

Up to this point, everyone, including Charles, believed that Rorschach's abilities were those granted by the Homelander template.

Under these circumstances, Rorschach naturally wouldn't let Hank draw his blood casually.

"No, no, no, Rorschach, I should be the one apologizing. I know this is inherently an offensive request."

A hint of disappointment flashed across Hank's face, but he still spoke to Rorschach politely.

"Hank, do you just need blood samples from mutants who look normal?"

Just as Hank was about to leave, Rorschach suddenly looked up and asked.

"Yes, why do you ask?" Hank looked at Rorschach, a little confused.

"If that's the case, Hank, while I can't let you draw my blood, I might be able to bring you other blood samples."

Rorschach said in a casual tone.

This was a simple matter for him.

Whether it was the unavoidable decisive battle with Black King or the "long-standing grudge match" with Stryker, Rorschach would inevitably clash with other mutants.

Bringing Hank some samples then wouldn't be a big deal.

"Rorschach, thank you so much." Hank's face, which had been filled with disappointment, suddenly lit up with surprise. "But if this makes things difficult for you…"

"It's okay, Hank. Doing something for a friend is no trouble at all."

"Thank you, Rorschach. I don't know what else to say besides thank you."

"Then you don't need to say anything. Alright, it's getting late. You should go back and rest. I'm not comfortable with two grown men sharing a room this late at night."

Hank left, completely satisfied.

Even though it was just Rorschach's verbal promise, and nothing concrete.

But Hank believed that since Rorschach had made a promise to him, he would definitely fulfill it.

After Hank left, Rorschach couldn't help but think. He remembered that in the original movie, Hank had only asked for blood samples from Mystique, Raven.

So, it was clear that because of his transmigration, the original course of events had deviated somewhat.

If Hank eventually obtained another blood sample, would he still turn into "Beast Hank" again?

After a quick breakfast in the dining hall, they greeted each other and reassembled on the training grounds.

Charles and Erik were already waiting there.

However, for some reason, Moira, who often followed Charles around as an assistant to record data, was not present.

Though Rorschach was puzzled, he didn't ask immediately.

Instead, he waited until Charles began the special training with everyone before subtly approaching Erik.

"Moira received a tip and went out to investigate."

Erik explained to Rorschach before he could even ask.

Rorschach nodded and said nothing more, though he was not optimistic about this investigation.

After all, from Rorschach's memory, it seemed they hadn't found the Black King before the final showdown of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

However, a movie can only contain so much, and what is shown to the audience is only a portion of the story.

And now, Rorschach was in a real world. If Moira truly found a lead on Shaw, it was possible it would happen.

It was just that this part hadn't been "edited" into the movie.

Furthermore, Rorschach's transmigration could also cause established trajectories to deviate, which was hard to say.

After all, Shaw hadn't suffered such a setback when he originally invaded the CIA base.

"Rorschach, tell me, if we find Shaw, will you stop me from killing him?"

Erik suddenly asked Rorschach with a serious expression.
