Reward obtained—Perception Ninjutsu
First teaching session completed. Reward obtained—Appraisal Technique
First A-rated teaching session completed. Reward obtained—Mastery of Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation
Receiving three rewards all at once pleasantly surprised Mu Yue. He felt a flood of memories suddenly appear in his mind, the most numerous of which were memories of cultivating Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation.
Those memories felt incomparably real, giving Mu Yue the illusion that he was an old ninja who had specialized in Fire Release his entire life.
"Teacher Hanyu, may I ask you something?" Shisui asked respectfully.
Hearing Shisui's words, Mu Yue, who had been about to look over the panel evaluation again, stopped. He led Shisui behind the empty school building, then used Perception Ninjutsu to sense the area. There were no particularly powerful Chakra signatures.
Mu Yue relaxed and smiled. "Was there something from class that you didn't understand? Go ahead and ask."
Shisui shook his head. "It's not about the lesson. I have a question."
"Teacher, you know that the Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan founded Konoha together, so why does everyone now only remember the Senju Clan and rarely mention the Uchiha Clan's contributions?"
Though he was a child, Shisui was exceptionally mature and sensitive. Whenever he went out with his elders, he could sense the strange looks passersby gave the clan crest on their backs.
They were both founding heroes of the village, so why were the Uchiha Clan's contributions not only unmentioned, but why did it even seem like the villagers disliked them? Shisui couldn't understand.
Looking at Shisui's puzzled face, Mu Yue grumbled inwardly, What kind of reputation did Hashirama Senju have in Konoha, and what kind of reputation did Uchiha Madara have? How could they possibly be compared?
"You've probably only read some of your clan's historical records, right?" Mu Yue asked.
Shisui nodded. The only history he could access at present was what the Uchiha provided.
"There were many things that happened before things became the way they are now. It's hard to explain them clearly in a short time." Mu Yue revealed a slightly troubled expression.
Seeing Mu Yue's hesitation, Shisui felt guilty. It seemed this question was more complicated than he had imagined. He was about to say never mind when Mu Yue spoke again.
"Forget it. If you have time after school in the future, come find me, and I'll tell you about that history." Mu Yue sighed.
"After all, I suppose I owe your Uchiha Clan a debt of gratitude. Consider it repayment."
Shisui was somewhat confused. How could Mu Yue owe the Uchiha Clan a debt of gratitude? So he asked directly.
"My parents were surrounded by enemies during a war and were saved by a ninja named Kagami Uchiha. Although they still died in a later war, I have always remembered that life-saving kindness." Mu Yue spoke nonsense with a grateful expression.
At that moment, he was glad the original owner of this body had become an orphan long ago. Otherwise, there would have been far less room for him to work with.
He had to admit that sometimes, dead people were more useful than living ones.
Shisui's eyes widened, and an incredulous expression appeared on his face. Kagami Uchiha was his grandfather. He had never expected that he and Mu Yue would share such a connection, and it gave him a strange feeling.
However, Shisui was not the kind of person who would use a favor to demand repayment, so he did not make a fuss. He merely thanked Mu Yue.
Before Shisui left, Mu Yue used Appraisal Technique on him.
Name: Shisui Uchiha Chakra: 500 Potential: SS- Evaluation: Six Paths Bloodline. Suited for cultivating Fire Release and genjutsu, with tremendous potential. Recommended as a disciple.
As Mu Yue walked toward the office, he sighed at how worthy Shisui was of being a monster capable of using Susanoo with one eye. Those two dazzling golden S's were simply too eye-catching—even the system recommended taking him as a disciple.
Mu Yue casually opened his own panel again to see whether his evaluation had changed.
Name: Hanyu Muyue Age: 18 Chakra: 4300 Evaluation: You have mastered Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation. What limits your strength is your scarce Chakra. If you can make up for this shortcoming, you will be among the elite of jonin.
"Looks like that mastery of Fire Release Nature Transformation is even stronger than I imagined." Mu Yue felt that he might have underestimated the true value of the word mastery.
He had originally thought it might merely be equivalent to a jonin's knowledge of Nature Transformation. But now, when it came to Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation alone, he might already be at the Third Hokage's level.
After all, aside from two Fire Release jutsu, he only knew the Body Flicker Technique, the Three Basic Jutsu, and a little ordinary taijutsu. With such ability, after receiving the reward, he could reach the level of an Elite Jonin just by increasing his Chakra.
An Elite Jonin should at least be around the level Kakashi and Asuma had at the beginning of the story.
Mu Yue had originally been delighted by the massive increase in strength, but when he remembered that he still had an identity within Root, he could no longer be happy.
First, the Root cursed seal on his body made him feel extremely unsafe. Second, Danzo, that old bastard, loved sending his subordinates to their deaths, which made him feel even less safe.
"I need to take in some disciples quickly and raise my strength as soon as possible. Even if I can't reach the level where I can kill Danzo and leave in style, I need at least the ability to protect myself." Mu Yue set a short-term goal for himself.
Mu Yue entered the office and found three other teachers sitting inside, two men and one woman, complaining to one another about their students.
Mu Yue knew all of them. Since the teachers had arrived early, the original owner had previously come to the school and gotten to know his colleagues.
Mu Yue casually used Appraisal Technique on each of them.
Name: Iketani Isamu Chakra: 2000 Potential: C Evaluation: Just another chunin cannon fodder.
The other two teachers had roughly the same data. The system had classified all of them as cannon fodder.
"Ugh, I'm really unlucky. How did Class 4-2 end up in my hands? I'm already teaching Class 3-1.
How am I supposed to teach them? Might Guy and Obito Uchiha, the two biggest dead-last students, are both in Class 4-2." Iketani Isamu spread his hands helplessly.
"My family even arranged a blind date for me and told me to meet her tomorrow afternoon. That just happens to be when I have Class 4-2."
"Find a teacher who doesn't have class to help you out, or just take leave. The blind date is more important," Ueda Aya suggested.
At that moment, Ueda Aya noticed Mu Yue entering and greeted him with a smile. "Teacher Hanyu, how did your first class feel? Were the little tips I told you before useful?"
Mu Yue recalled how this enthusiastic female teacher had worried that, as a new teacher, he would be nervous during his first lesson. She had told him to silently imagine that all the students were carrots and cabbages while teaching.
Mu Yue politely replied, "Thank you. The little trick worked very well, but after class, the students all advised me not to be a picky eater."
"Haha, Teacher Hanyu, you're really interesting." Ueda Aya laughed, thinking that since Mu Yue was still in the mood to joke around, his first class must have gone smoothly.
"Teacher Iketani, I don't have class tomorrow afternoon. If you need it, I can cover for you." Mu Yue placed his lesson plan on the desk and asked with the air of a good old fellow.
Unlike the other teachers, Mu Yue wished he had a full schedule every day. Besides, Class 4-2 had Obito and Might Guy, so he had even more reason to take a look.
Delight appeared on Iketani Isamu's face. He hurriedly thanked Mu Yue and said that he would definitely treat him to a meal when he had the chance.
Inside the Hokage's Office, the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, watched Mu Yue solemnly explain the Will of Fire within the crystal ball. Stroking his goatee, he felt that this young man from Root was not bad—a man who understood the Will of Fire.
Danzo thought he had concealed things well, but the Third Hokage had long known about some of the ninjas trained by Root who had not been entered into Root's official roster.
However, the Third Hokage felt that Danzo was, more or less, cultivating strength for Konoha, so as long as he did not go too far, it was acceptable.
But the Third Hokage placed considerable importance on the Ninja Academy, so he had specifically come to observe it himself. To his surprise, this Root ninja's very first lesson was about the Will of Fire, instilling a sense of responsibility in the students. The Third Hokage found that very good.
"Watch his future performance. If he proves to be talented, let him leave Root."
Mu Yue's current performance alone was not enough for the Third Hokage to ask Danzo for him.
Though, in essence, what belonged to Danzo also belonged to him, he still had to consider his old classmate's feelings.
With that thought, the Third Hokage stopped the Telescope Technique and began processing documents, planning to inspect Konoha again at dusk.
After finishing his meal, Shisui began searching for Mu Yue's residence according to the location Mu Yue had given him.
Mu Yue's residence was in Konoha's sparsely built southeastern area, considered a remote part of the village and far from the Main City Area.
Fortunately, there were few buildings here, so Shisui quickly found Mu Yue's home: a single-story wooden house standing in a shabby courtyard.
The moment Shisui entered the courtyard, he saw a sight that left him dumbfounded and shook him to the core.
