Obito, who had been working on the problems, raised his head at the sound of their conversation, then froze.
He recognized Shisui.
The Uchiha Clan lived together, all residing in the clan district designated by Konoha, so people of the same generation generally knew a little about one another.
After all, they were from the same clan. Even if they had never met, they had heard of each other. Geniuses like Shisui often came up in the mouths of elders as other people's children, making him hard not to recognize.
Obito felt a little confused. Why was Shisui here, and why did he seem so familiar with Mu Yue?
Could Teacher Hanyu be some distant relative of Shisui's? Obito came up with an unreliable guess.
"Teacher, I'm done!"
While Obito was letting his imagination run wild, Might Guy beside him suddenly shouted with full vigor.
"So fast?" Obito was dumbfounded. He remembered not stopping for very long, so how had Might Guy suddenly finished?
Obito curiously leaned over to take a look, only to see that Might Guy had only answered the first three multiple-choice questions. The rest were blank.
For a moment, Obito did not know what to say, because the entire test only had ten questions: four multiple-choice questions and six written-response questions.
Though he did not know how to answer many of them either, he would at least fill in more of the paper so it looked better.
Hearing Might Guy, Mu Yue walked over and checked his answers. Two were wrong; only the first question was correct.
"Sorry, Teacher, I..." Might Guy looked at the only three questions he had answered, two of which were wrong, and did not know what to say.
"It's fine. It's normal not to know. If you already knew, there would be no need for me to teach you." Mu Yue smiled reassuringly.
"Don't let a low score get you down. Look at it from another angle: you have plenty of room to improve. After all, improving from five points to twenty-five is definitely much easier than going from eighty to one hundred."
At Mu Yue's words, Might Guy's body trembled. Having always been treated as dead last and left to fend for himself, he had received encouragement from someone other than his father for the first time.
"You're right, Teacher! I have plenty of room to improve!" Might Guy's spirit instantly soared.
For the rest of Mu Yue's explanation, Might Guy listened intently. Even when it was difficult to understand, he did his best to comprehend it.
Next came Obito. He had filled in six questions, but only two were correct.
Mu Yue treated him the same way he had treated Might Guy, comforting him first before explaining the questions.
After finishing the explanation, Mu Yue took out two more tests of the same type and handed them to the pair.
"More questions?" Obito could not take his eyes off Shisui, who had started practicing Fire Release.
Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique! Shisui rapidly formed hand seals, then instantly spat out a huge fireball two meters tall toward the river.
Seeing that enormous fireball, Obito was thoroughly impressed. As expected of a renowned genius in the clan.
As an Uchiha, he could use the classic Ninjutsu Great Fireball as well.
But compared to Shisui's, whether in size or power, his Great Fireball could only be called a little fireball.
"Another genius like Kakashi?"
Though Might Guy did not know Shisui, Shisui looked no older than six or seven. Yet he could use such a powerful Ninjutsu, which truly astonished him.
It reminded Might Guy of Kakashi, whom he had deemed his rival.
The Ninja Academy used a three-semester system. The first semester ran from April to July, followed by summer break. The second semester ran from September to December, followed by winter break. After winter break came the third semester.
Yet Kakashi had not even finished the second semester before applying for early graduation—and passing. His genius was obvious.
At that moment, Shisui gave Might Guy the same impression as Kakashi had at the same age.
Next, Shisui began practicing the Great Dragon Fire Technique.
Seeing that Shisui even knew other Fire Release Ninjutsu, Might Guy was even more astonished. He had practiced the Three Basic Jutsu taught at school for three years and still felt that he had only barely learned them.
As he watched Shisui control the Fire Dragon as it danced through the sky, Obito felt deeply envious. If he could do that too, Rin would definitely see him in a new light.
"It's clear that you've improved greatly in Form Transformation compared to the first time. The Fire Dragon is a little faster too. You must have practiced quite a bit after going home yesterday." Mu Yue offered his assessment and praise.
"Mainly because your training manual helped me a lot, Mu Yue-sensei." Hearing Mu Yue's praise, Shisui smiled before answering.
"Let me demonstrate it for you once more."
Mu Yue walked in front of Shisui and clapped his hands together. Chakra rapidly gathered and compressed within him, and he instantly opened his mouth and spat out three massive Fire Dragons.
Obito was stunned as he looked at the three enormous Fire Dragons, vicious and burning fiercely.
A second ago, he had thought Shisui's Great Dragon Fire was cool, but once Mu Yue's Great Dragon Fire appeared, Obito changed his mind.
It did not look like they were using the same Ninjutsu. The Fire Dragon Shisui released and the ones Mu Yue released were like snakes compared to loaches. And why were they so fast? It felt as though Mu Yue had not even formed hand seals.
The three massive Fire Dragons flew rapidly through the sky, leaving trails of flame along their paths before finally forming several large characters in the air.
"Stop staring and get back to your questions." Obito read the words in the sky aloud, then discovered Mu Yue looking at him with a perfectly pleasant smile.
Obito instantly jumped in fright, then explained:
"I was tired from working, so I looked at the sky for a bit."
He glanced at Might Guy from the corner of his eye and found that Might Guy, who had been watching with him, had already grabbed his pen and resumed answering questions. His reaction had been incredibly fast.
"Have you seen enough now?" Mu Yue asked.
"I have, I have." Obito hurriedly picked up his pen and began answering questions as well.
After working for a while, Obito still could not help putting down his pen and asking, "Teacher Hanyu, what is your relationship with Shisui?"
"A teacher and disciple. What kind of relationship did you think it was?" Mu Yue answered after glancing at Might Guy's test.
"Hehe, I thought you were teacher and student too." Obito did not mention his initial unreliable guess.
"Teacher Hanyu, if I pass, can you teach me that Ninjutsu you just used?" Obito continued asking.
He was already imagining how he would show off his new Ninjutsu to Nohara Rin. In other words, he was already preparing to pop the champagne.
"Of course." Mu Yue nodded.
"Really?" Obito's face filled with delight.
"Really."
"Teacher Hanyu, what Taijutsu have you mastered?" Might Guy looked at Mu Yue expectantly.
Though he also thought Mu Yue looked cool using the Great Dragon Fire Technique, Might Guy had a clear goal: he only trained Taijutsu!
Mu Yue did not answer. Instead, he walked over to a large tree, gathered Chakra in his foot, tensed his muscles, and then unleashed a Whirlwind Kick at incredible speed.
With a crack, the large tree swiftly toppled over, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Do you like this Taijutsu?" Mu Yue withdrew his foot, dusted it off, and smiled at Might Guy.
