Background / History

Tang San travels with Old Jack to awaken his Martial Soul after being injured by Tang Hao. Su Yuntao heals his injuries and confirms his Innate Full Soul Power. His awakening produces the Blue Silver Hammer and Clear Sky Grass, although the hammer is judged to have negligible attack power and to shatter on contact. 2 5

At Notting College, Ye Fan's plot alterations compel Tang San to kneel and lick the gatekeeper's hand to gain entry. Yu Xiaogang subsequently takes responsibility for Tang San's education; Tang San regards him as his teacher despite the altered acknowledgment scene preventing a formal master-disciple relationship at that point. 5

Under Yu Xiaogang's guidance, Tang San enters the Soul Hunting Forest, studies Soul Beast selection, and obtains his first Soul Ring from a Hammerhead Grass. The ring is altered into a one-year ring by Ye Fan, while Tang San nonetheless advances his Xuan Tian Gong. 9 13 14

Tang San later reaches level 20, develops a second Soul Skill, and journeys toward Shrek Academy. He is initially expelled during the entrance assessment after refusing compensation for damaging Lu Qibin's chess piece. 17 20 28 By Chapter 64, he challenges Zhao Wuji for admission and uses his skills and movement technique to survive against the Soul Saint. 64

Personality

Tang San is determined to cultivate and prove himself, even when facing opponents with a substantial Soul Power advantage. He accepts Dai Mubai's challenge despite Dai being a level 37 Soul Venerable, and later agrees to face Feng Xiaotian in a level-matched duel. 22 228

He can be arrogant and reckless. His initial refusal to compensate Lu Qibin results in expulsion from Shrek Academy, while several of his combat techniques cause collateral disruption or provoke opponents into retaliating against him. 28 62 113

He remains resilient under hardship. Tang San endures Zhao Wuji's harsh training, chooses to suffer severe weather alongside Yu Xiaogang as willpower training, and continues seeking ways to strengthen himself. 70 91 112
