Arc 5The Founding of New Krypton

He-El restored the Kandor Kryptonians, won their support, and turned Zero’s fleet into a force for building New Krypton. As the Kryptonians awakened their powers and Zero set course for Earth, Batman and world leaders began preparing for an approaching alien threat.

  • He-El used the AllSpark to restore seven million Kryptonians, showed them footage of Krypton’s destruction, and revealed Jor-El’s actions before Kyra-El challenged his account.
  • He-El defended his record and promised a new society, then put the choice between restoring the Council system and creating New Krypton to a vote that the crowd overwhelmingly decided in his favor.
  • He-El sealed Kyra-Jor-El underground, rejected General Tyler Wicks’s demand for military privilege, and unveiled Zero’s fleet, which Zero transformed into a vast army of Transformers.

He-El defeated the Justice League, confronted Jor-El over Krypton’s fate, and used the Codex to pursue New Krypton’s expansion. After destroying the United States and conquering Earth, he turned to the Speed Force to power Jor-El’s creations and strengthen his plans.

  • He-El attacked the Hall of Justice, gravely wounded Superman, and defeated the Justice League as Batman and the other heroes tried to stop him.
  • He-El took Superman and The Flash to the Fortress of Solitude, where he confronted Jor-El over the Codex, Krypton’s destruction, and his choice to save only his son.

  • He-El stopped The Flash’s escape, while Lex Luthor opened Black Adam’s tomb and Martian Manhunter set out to rescue The Flash for Jor-El’s plan to use Amazo.
  • He-El ordered Sacrifice to destroy Mars, and the Star Annihilator Cannon split the planet apart while Martian Manhunter watched its people die.
  • Bruce learned that Earth’s government and military had fallen, while the Guardians organized a massive Green Lantern force and sent Scarface and Ark to seek Olympus’s aid.

Arc 8He-El’s Conquest

He-El defeated the gods and Guardians of the Universe, then led New Krypton toward control of Earth. The arc ended with He-El and Ganthet negotiating Earth’s defenses and New Krypton’s territory as Zeus’s demand was interrupted by an unseen speaker.

  • Athena sealed Earth behind a protective barrier as Apollo cut the Kryptonians off from sunlight, but Radiance and Mercy’s weapon devastated Mars and killed millions of Green Lantern Corps soldiers.
  • He-El defeated Apollo, Athena, Artemis, Ark, and Scarface in the Asteroid Belt, survived their attempts to trap and exhaust him, and carried the captives back toward Earth.
  • The Green Lantern Corps and the Divine Legion fought Kal-El’s Kryptonian army, but He-El returned with their leaders defeated, killed Hal and Wonder Woman, and left the Corps trapped.
