Background / History

Mo Bai was originally a Tang Sect disciple and professional assassin from Earth. He worked overseas because surveillance in his home country made assassination difficult, using the profession to profit from his hidden-weapon expertise. During a break, he watched Douluo Continent out of curiosity because its protagonist, Tang San, was also presented as a Tang Sect disciple. Mo Bai criticized the adaptation's portrayal of Tang Sect techniques and rejected Tang San's decision to pursue a control-focused Blue Silver Grass path. 1

After falling asleep, he reincarnated in the Douluo Continent as a three-year-old orphan whose parents had recently died in an accident. He retained only limited knowledge of the world from the anime and spent the next three years rebuilding his foundation through the Startling Feather Art, Jade Hand, Flower Butterfly Steps, and other Tang Sect techniques. 2
