Background / History
Tang Hao is Tang San's father and the father of Yun Chuan. Before Yun Chuan's identity is openly addressed, Tang Hao realizes that Yun Chuan's Blue Silver Grass Spirit Avatar resembles A Yin exactly and concludes that the youth may be the child taken by Martial Soul Hall twelve years earlier 58.
After his long-standing injuries heal, Tang Hao regains the vigorous appearance of a man in his thirties. He begins gathering strength and subordinates, intending to avenge past grievances and bring A Yin back to the Haotian Sect with dignity. His efforts with the Four Single Attribute Clans achieve little beyond the loyal Power Clan, as he is poorly suited to force-building 414.
Appearance
Following his recovery, Tang Hao appears as a vigorous, muscular man in his thirties, with short hair standing upright like steel needles and fierce, penetrating eyes 85 252.
- Usually wears simple black clothing 252.
- Has a sturdy, robust build and bulging muscles 252.
- Formerly appeared slovenly; after healing, he deliberately tidies himself and wears new clothes 85.
- His presence is described as resolute and oppressive, likened to an ancient demon god 252.
Personality
Tang Hao is blunt, forceful, and more comfortable wielding a hammer than managing people. He can be demanding and stern as an instructor, but he watches Tang San's progress closely and takes satisfaction in his improvement even when he does not openly praise him 290 302 414.
His attachment to family strongly shapes his decisions. He seeks cultivation guidance for Tang San, protects him when Martial Soul Hall threatens him, struggles with the possibility that Yun Chuan is his lost son, and is reluctant to fight Yun Chuan even when circumstances place them on opposing sides 56 58 252 255.
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao wields the Clear Sky Hammer, regarded as the world's foremost offensive Martial Soul. Its oppressive force allows him to confront multiple Titled Douluo at once 252.
- Possesses nine soul rings: two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red hundred-thousand-year ring 252.
- Activates the Clear Sky True Body, expanding his hammer to more than one hundred meters; the hammer can turn crimson when empowered by his hundred-thousand-year ring 252.
- His fully healed body and accumulated strength make him stronger than his original counterpart 253.
Great Sumeru Hammer: Ring Detonation
Tang Hao's ultimate technique detonates soul rings to produce a massive temporary increase in power 253.
- Detonated all nine rings to wound seven Titled Douluo led by Bibi Dong 253.
- Later detonated eight rings, including three high-age ten-thousand-year rings, while retaining the hundred-thousand-year ring formed from A Yin's sacrifice 255.
- The three detonated black rings ranged from sixty thousand to ninety thousand years old; their power stacked with the earlier detonations' lingering amplification 255.
- The technique is life-risking and carries serious consequences 253.
Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique
Tang Hao teaches Tang San the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique during a prolonged waterfall-training regimen 288 290.
- Requires repeated, uninterrupted hammer strikes; Tang San is initially assigned a goal of ninety-nine strikes 288.
- Tang Hao uses a Forging Hammer, then a fragile wooden hammer, to force Tang San to develop balance, precision, strength control, and adaptability 289 290.
- He considers the technique exhausted once Tang San has mastered its eighty-one-strike sequence, then turns his son's attention toward real combat 302.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Shrek Academy confrontation
Tang Hao approaches Shrek Academy disguised in black after seeing Yun Chuan fight Tang San. Although he initially intends to challenge Yun Chuan, his primary objective is to secure Yun Chuan's guidance for Tang San's Blue Silver Grass cultivation 56. During their battle, Yun Chuan's Spirit Avatar makes Tang Hao suspect that he is A Yin's lost child; emotionally overwhelmed, Tang Hao retreats 58 59.
Acknowledging Yun Chuan
After recovering from his old injuries, Tang Hao intercepts Yun Chuan and claims to be his birth father. He summons the Clear Sky Hammer to demonstrate the inherited connection between their hammer spirits, eventually leading Yun Chuan to follow him for further proof 85.
Martial Soul Hall rescue
Tang Hao appears when Tang San and the Shrek group are threatened by Martial Soul Hall. He sends Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo flying, reveals his nine-ring configuration, and uses Clear Sky True Body to confront seven Titled Douluo 252. When his initial strike cannot force them back, he uses Ring Detonation, wounding all seven before an unknown Martial Soul Hall powerhouse prevents his escape with a barrier 253.
Conflict involving Yun Chuan
When confronted by Yun Chuan and Martial Soul Hall, Tang Hao is unwilling to battle his biological son. Nevertheless, he detonates eight soul rings to force a path through the conflict, retaining A Yin's hundred-thousand-year ring 255.
Tang San's waterfall training
Tang Hao brings Tang San to a valley for extended special training, heals his hidden injuries, seals his soul power temporarily, and trains him beneath a waterfall 288. He transitions Tang San from a heavy Forging Hammer to a giant wooden hammer, cultivating control as well as raw strength 289 290. By the end of three years, he acknowledges Tang San's growth to level 60 and shifts his instruction from hammer technique to the essence of actual combat 302.
