Background / History
Qin Wei was the captain of the Demon Suppression Division's First Team when he first encountered Ling Yun. Impressed by Ling Yun's courage and strength after their clash, he resolved to recruit him into the Division, even after Ling Yun repeatedly refused 29 30. He later attempted to use the Calming Heart Incantation as further incentive, recognizing that Ling Yun's growing killing intent could endanger his martial path 43.
During the Mount Taiyin temple investigation, Qin Wei led a large force consisting of three Seven-Star Demon Suppression Envoys and twelve Eight-Star Demon Subduers, in addition to himself 44 49. The mission descended into chaos when he suddenly attacked Ling Yun, claimed Ling Yun had been invaded by an Evil Spirit, and ordered his subordinates to kill him 53. He subsequently used the forbidden Spinal Fiend Sword against Ling Yun and declared the surrounding Envoys to be potential “blood food,” prompting Ma Xiu and others to oppose him 58 59.
By the later Ghost-Masked Buddha conflict, Qin Wei was again acting as the First Team captain and fighting alongside the Demon Suppression Division. He confronted Ghost-Masked Buddha in the sky while Ling Yun engaged Bai Ji below 68 69. He later became a six-star Envoy capable of controlling the spirit within his body 76.
At Mount Taiyin, Qin Wei served as one of the Division's principal commanders. He defended formations, pursued Ghost Mother, escaped the Four Violet Yin Formation through overwhelming lightning power, and took responsibility when his absence enabled an enemy to destroy his formation 167 168. Though repeatedly injured and forced to face multiple six-star enemies, he continued commanding the surviving Envoys and holding the defensive line 174 175 181.

- Ling Yun — Initially a recruitment target and frequent source of irritation. After fighting each other and later cooperating in multiple crises, they develop mutual respect and consider one another brothers by the time Ling Yun leaves Cloud City 29 53 180 226.
- Wang Yuan — Grand Envoy and superior commander. Wang Yuan intervened when Qin Wei's dispute with other Envoys threatened to turn violent and imposed a punishment that Qin Wei accepted 34 161.
- Ma Xiu — Subordinate and longtime associate who struggled to believe Qin Wei could betray the team during the temple incident 58.
- Crimson Fire — Captain of the Fourth Team and battlefield ally. Crimson Fire risks himself to buy Qin Wei time against multiple enemies, while Qin Wei later prioritizes his rescue 161 176 177.
- Jiang Tao — Captain of the Second Team and recurring rival. Their exchanges are marked by insults, old grudges, and Qin Wei's threats to beat Jiang Tao's son again 102 161 162.
