| Theresa Apocalypse transformation | 37 | Gains Servant-comparable physical ability and can draw out most of the Oath of Judas' power. |

| Simultaneous weapon summoning | 107 109 | Learns to summon multiple weapons through cards at once, though powerful Noble Phantasms remain difficult to sustain together. |

| Refined combat technique | 141 142 145 | Trains for three weeks with Yae Sakura and others in a battle space, developing a technical fighting style rather than relying solely on borrowed power. |
| Fully absorbed dual Spirit Cores | 215 | Having perfectly absorbed two Servant Spirit Cores and acquired the Holy Grail, reaches top-tier Servant-level strength; his cards and transformations let him contend with even greater threats. |
Background / History
Mikaela is a transmigrator who regained his memories after becoming a Servant in the Fourth Holy Grail War. He agreed to assist Emiya Kiritsugu because winning the war offered a route back to his original world, where he hoped to return to a peaceful life with his parents. His willingness to use lethal and underhanded methods stemmed from this goal. 2 15
His early childhood was his happiest period: he lived with both parents until his father disappeared and his mother was arrested. Mikaela later described having been hostile toward the world during that period, believing everyone intended to harm him. 88 180 229
Following the Fourth Holy Grail War, the World repossessed Mikaela's Servant Spirit Origin. His powerful soul was left in a fragile human body, severely weakening his senses and leaving him nearly blind. He spent three years training his body before seeking Aozaki Touko's help; Touko identified the underlying issue as a problem involving his Spirit Core. 50 54
Mikaela temporarily worked for the Fujimaru family under the name “Maid” or “Aila,” accepting food and lodging in exchange for protection. Before departing to seek Touko, he left the family three magical cards for protection. 51
Appearance
Mikaela has black-and-white hair, which he considers the final keepsake left by his parents: the black strand represents his father, and the white strand represents his mother. Repeated transformations altered his body from an original height of 178 cm to approximately 165 cm and gave him an increasingly feminine, divine-looking appearance after his Valkyrie fusion. 105
- Usually wears a maid outfit. 85
- Maintains black-and-white hair regardless of transformation. 105
- Has a notably feminine appearance despite identifying as male. 53 119
- Uses many distinct appearances through character cards, including Theresa Apocalypse, Abigail, Valkyrie Ortlinde, Hozuki, and Victorious de Blois. 13 37 84 132 143
- His eyesight was severely impaired after Incarnation, then partially recovered through Valkyrie Spirit Core fusion. 50 85 87
Personality
Mikaela is calm, calculating, and strongly goal-oriented. During the Fourth Holy Grail War, he accepted being treated as Kiritsugu's weapon and considered assassination more suitable than protective combat. He prioritizes victory and his eventual return home, but prefers avoiding violence when problems can be settled through discussion. 3 15 77
Despite his ruthlessness in battle, Mikaela is protective toward people he considers his own. He sheltered the Fujimaru family, repeatedly protected Fujimaru Ritsuka and the Shopkeeper's Daughter, and risks himself to rescue others. 51 111 131 132 162
He follows a personal principle of repaying kindness with kindness and settling hostility in kind. This principle leads him to spare Mordred in repayment for the Lion King's earlier restraint. 115 164
Mikaela prefers acting alone and solving problems independently, even when others are available to help. He recognizes this tendency but is willing to seek instruction when his lack of technique becomes a genuine weakness. 141 142 212 235
Abilities & Skills
Card Creation and Transformation
Mikaela's core ability is the creation and use of cards. Cards can store items, manifest weapons, and allow him to transform into people for whom he possesses sufficient information and knowledge. 1 2
- Can reproduce a target's appearance, physical capabilities, and Noble Phantasms. 3
- Does not automatically receive a transformed target's combat memories, making unfamiliar abilities difficult to use effectively. 3
- Can manifest mundane items, such as bottled water and clothing, as well as magical weapons. 180 232 233
- Prolonged use of the same transformation gradually lowers its energy cost but risks assimilation into that identity. 84 165
- Repeated long-term transformations eventually trigger irreversible Metamorphosis, through which Mikaelas become female. 211
Oath of Judas
The Oath of Judas is Mikaela's cross-shaped weapon card and most recognizable armament. Irisviel recognized its internal energy as comparable to a Noble Phantasm. 2
- Produces golden chains for restraint, defense, and manual battlefield control. 6 37
- Can launch golden spears and function as a close-combat weapon. 37 38
- Its Zero Rated Power, Divine Grace Barrier, suppresses magical power rather than serving as a conventional anti-city attack. 29
- Mikaela can access most of its strength while transformed into Theresa Apocalypse. 37
- Can serve as a shelter during Spirit Core fusion and mana absorption. 84 140
Spirit Core Fusion
Mikaela can fuse Servant Spirit Cores into his body to repair his damaged physical vessel and inherit their abilities. 54 84
- Valkyrie Ortlinde's Spirit Core grants enhanced physical ability, spear combat, Rune magecraft, and the White Bird Noble Phantasm. 85 86
- Fusion requires compatibility and risks mental assimilation; Mikaela selectively retains combat memories while deleting mundane ones. 84 86
- Medusa's Spirit Core grants Mystic Eyes and related combat abilities. 121 131
- Perfectly absorbing two Spirit Cores elevates Mikaela to top-tier Servant strength. 215
Rune Magecraft and Mystic Eyes
Through Valkyrie Ortlinde, Mikaela acquired Rune magecraft and uses it to improve mobility, reinforce barriers, and support combat. 85 86 119
- Uses Rune symbols to apply a swiftness enhancement during spear combat. 86
- Reinforced Cú Chulainn's barrier with concealment-focused Runes. 119
- Medusa-derived Petrifying Eyes can contest other Mystic Eyes, though incomplete fusion initially limited their power. 121
- Mikaela can exploit Valkyrie-derived power to strengthen the Mystic Eyes beyond an opponent's expectations. 121
Individuals
Mikaela can create autonomous manifestations of himself, comparable to an army of alternate selves. 91
- Each individual can wield weapons or Noble Phantasms while bearing most of its own mana expenditure. 91
- Individuals disappear after expending their power, leaving Mikaela with only a small energy cost. 91
- Coordinated individuals held off twenty Demon God Pillars and attacked Goetia from multiple directions. 125
- Other Mikaelas from separate worlds can be summoned, though they usually require significant mana to communicate clearly. 164 165
Initial Servant Skills
| Skill | Rank | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Magic Resistance | E | Provides limited resistance to magical damage; Mikaela did not possess the ability naturally, so it remained at the lowest rank. 1 2 |
| Card | C | Produces transparent cards capable of storing many items. 1 |
| Psychometry | C | By touching an item from a person's past life or former use, Mikaela can view its memories; once activated, the process cannot be stopped. 1 |
| Clairvoyance | C | Can manifest thoughts and concepts in his mind onto paper or other objects. 1 |
Materialization
As a Servant, Mikaela could materialize to gain greater movement speed and pass through walls. 2
