Background / History
Tang Hao is the younger brother of Tang Xiao and Tang Yuehua, as well as the grandson of Tang Chen. He is regarded as the Clear Sky Sect's strongest young genius, its publicly recognized Young Sect Master, and its sole candidate for the next Sect Master. 22 176
When Tang Yuehua's previously blocked cultivation was resolved by Gu Ziyi, Tang Hao reluctantly acknowledged Gu Ziyi's ability. He initially dismissed Yuehua's mutated support-type Martial Soul because it was not a power-attack type, but later accepted its value and supported her wish to honor her promise to Gu Ziyi. 22 26
As captain of the Haotian Team, Tang Hao entered the Soul Master Competition as a level 54 Soul King. Public disclosure that Gu Ziyi had cured Tang Yuehua's cultivation problem humiliated him, especially because the Clear Sky Sect had rewarded Gu Ziyi with only a 3,000-year Soul Bone. 72 73 His hostility escalated after Bibi Dong restrained and defeated him when he tried to confront Gu Ziyi. 76 77
Gu Ziyi later defeated Tang Hao in the competition, catching and ultimately shattering his Clear Sky Hammer after redirecting the force of Tang Hao's fully stacked Chaotic Cloak Hammer strike. 104 Seeking power and revenge, Tang Hao entered Slaughter City, achieved one hundred consecutive victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena, and spent four years surviving the Hell Road. 128 129
After a second defeat by Gu Ziyi as a Soul Sage, Tang Hao's confidence collapsed. Tang Chen sent him to travel and train alone for at least five years. 155 157 During this period, Tang Hao met A Yin and became devoted to her, even after learning that she was a 100,000-Year Blue Silver Emperor transformed into human form. 174 176
Tang Hao failed to prevent A Yin from joining the Martial Soul Hall, then swore revenge on both Gu Ziyi and the organization. 177 179 After receiving the Rakshasa God Nine Trials, he eventually became a Titled Douluo and returned to find the Clear Sky Sect destroyed. Believing the Martial Soul Hall responsible, he entered the war on the Heaven Dou Empire's side. 201 202
Personality
Tang Hao is proud, combative, and highly sensitive to humiliation. His defeats by Bibi Dong and Gu Ziyi repeatedly provoke anger, jealousy, and a determination to seek stronger power rather than accept the loss. 77 129 157
His pride can make him reckless: he challenges stronger opponents, relies on force to settle disputes, and initially refuses to heed warnings about danger. 155 162 176 However, later events show greater restraint; after learning Tang San holds the Sea God's inheritance, he resolves not to confront him until he has sufficient strength. 207
Despite his temper, Tang Hao shows mercy. He captures two Fallen Ones rather than killing them, believing they should be given a chance to reform; after Bibi Dong kills them, he later regrets this decision. 162 163 His devotion to A Yin is equally unwavering, though it turns into resentment after she rejects his feelings and chooses Gu Ziyi. 176 179 207
