Background / History
Liu Qingfeng is the son of Liu Qing, the Sword Control Hall Master of the Great Luo Holy Land. Initially proud of his family background and his own talent, he was deeply shaken by Lu Changsheng’s appearance, manner, and presumed cultivation. Qingyun Daoist placed him at Lu Changsheng’s side so that he could learn from the Eldest Senior Brother and temper his childish disposition. 7 8
He quickly became devoted to Lu Changsheng, though he remained eager for praise and prone to being overlooked beside him. During their early travels, strangers repeatedly assumed he was Lu Changsheng’s pageboy or attendant, much to his frustration. 52 68
Lu Changsheng encouraged him to pursue alchemy, persuading him that he possessed unparalleled talent in the field. Liu Qingfeng successfully completed his first pill refinement and eagerly treated even a lump of black pill dregs as a “Peerless Immortal Pill,” sincerely trusting Lu Changsheng’s abilities. 34 35 37
While traveling with Lu Changsheng, Liu Qingfeng provided practical knowledge of sects and cultivation-world customs. He also showed genuine foresight when he warned that the Yin Yang Holy Land might covet the Eastern Emperor Bell, then sent a talisman message to the Great Luo Holy Land for aid. 54 75
His reckless confidence in alchemy later caused the North Abyss Palace Master to become mentally impaired after he offered to refine pills for him. The North Abyss Palace seized and beat Liu Qingfeng, forcing Lu Changsheng to travel alone to secure his release. 107 109 111
After witnessing Qingyun Daoist’s conduct, Liu Qingfeng found a personal goal: becoming a Holy Lord. He left Lu Changsheng a farewell letter, explaining that he could not continue relying on his senior brother if he wished to grow into someone who would no longer burden him. 121 122
He later cultivated alone in Great Wilderness Mountain, where the Demon Emperor God Emperor Scripture appeared in his mind. This opportunity transformed his cultivation speed and eventually led to his ascension. 265 268
Liu Qingfeng and Dragon Horse accidentally ascended into the Demon Realm, where its inhabitants mistook him for the returning Demon Emperor. He initially resisted the role and pretended to be mentally deficient to avoid responsibility, but ultimately accepted his identity as the Demon Realm Master after Lu Changsheng’s intervention. 352 463 464

He is also impulsive and easily excited by trouble, fighting, food, or the prospect of showing off. His confidence in his alchemy frequently exceeds his actual caution, leading directly to the North Abyss Palace incident. 42 109 111
Beneath his immaturity, Liu Qingfeng is loyal to Lu Changsheng and capable of sound judgment. He warned his senior brother about the danger surrounding the Eastern Emperor Bell, sought support from their sect, and eventually chose to leave Lu Changsheng in order to become independent. 75 122
His growth remains uneven: after returning from years of solitary cultivation, he was proud of his advancement but immediately demoralized by the greater progress of his peers. 265 266
