Background / History

Liu Qingfeng is the son of Liu Qing, the Sword Control Hall Master of the Great Luo Holy Land. Initially proud of his family background and his own talent, he was deeply shaken by Lu Changsheng’s appearance, manner, and presumed cultivation. Qingyun Daoist placed him at Lu Changsheng’s side so that he could learn from the Eldest Senior Brother and temper his childish disposition. 7 8

He quickly became devoted to Lu Changsheng, though he remained eager for praise and prone to being overlooked beside him. During their early travels, strangers repeatedly assumed he was Lu Changsheng’s pageboy or attendant, much to his frustration. 52 68

Lu Changsheng encouraged him to pursue alchemy, persuading him that he possessed unparalleled talent in the field. Liu Qingfeng successfully completed his first pill refinement and eagerly treated even a lump of black pill dregs as a “Peerless Immortal Pill,” sincerely trusting Lu Changsheng’s abilities. 34 35 37

While traveling with Lu Changsheng, Liu Qingfeng provided practical knowledge of sects and cultivation-world customs. He also showed genuine foresight when he warned that the Yin Yang Holy Land might covet the Eastern Emperor Bell, then sent a talisman message to the Great Luo Holy Land for aid. 54 75
