Background / History

Ling Mo was a cross-world traveler who had previously lived in the Honkai World. After arriving on the Douluo Continent as an infant, he was found in the Star Dou Great Forest by Elder Xuan. Though initially suspected of being a soul beast reborn as a human, his awakened Twin Martial Souls confirmed him as human. Elder Xuan raised him with the care of a grandfather. 2

His martial souls awakened as a Herrscher Core and a Divine Key. Ling Mo initially misidentified the former as the Thunder Herrscher's core and the latter as Void Archive, only gradually discovering that the first was associated with the Herrscher of the End and that the second could manifest multiple Divine Keys. 2

Before entering Shrek Academy at age twelve, Ling Mo supported himself by hunting low-level soul beasts. He used the earnings to purchase a small home in Shrek City, partly to show Elder Xuan that he could care for himself. 2 3

At Shrek, he joined the Tang Sect and became acquainted with Huo Yuhao, Beibei, and Tang Ya. His team placed fifth in the freshman assessment after he deliberately accepted Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong's Golden Road to test its Martial Soul-sealing effect. 8 9

During a journey in the Far North, Ling Mo obtained the Snow Empress's Soul Ring under extraordinary circumstances, awakened his Stigmata, and gained access to the Stigmata Space. The Snow Empress later emerged there with memories of Ling Mo's Honkai World experiences, becoming bound to him. 9 11

After disappearing while seeking a Soul Ring to help Ma Xiaotao, Ling Mo awakened in the Seal of the Throne world. With Long Haochen's assistance, he joined the Warrior Temple, later becoming a member of Long Haochen's Number One Demon Hunter Squad. 24 29 33

Ling Mo is frequently mistaken for a girl due to his delicate, feminine features, even though he is male. He normally conceals himself beneath a full-body cloak. 2 29

Despite his tendency to appear detached or lazy, he is observant in battle and highly protective of people he values. He intervenes when Xu Sanshi tries to take Huo Yuhao's food by force, entrusts Benares with protecting him during dangerous ring absorption, and attempts to gain a Herrscher of Flames ring to save Ma Xiaotao. 5 9 24

His experiences in multiple worlds leave him unsure of what he truly wants from life. In the Seal of the Throne world, he often avoids major events and considers himself dependent on his weapons, companions, and the Herrscher of the End's interventions. 17 39
