Background / History
Ling Mo fought the Herrscher of the End on the moon during his previous life. By forcibly wielding multiple Divine Keys and the Herrscher of Flames' power, he achieved mutual destruction with her, but the backlash sent him to the Douluo Continent. He later concluded that he had absorbed her Herrscher Core, which became one of his Martial Souls 1 2 4.
The End first reappeared when the Snow Empress nearly killed the unconscious Ling Mo in the Far North. Taking control of his body, she assumed an emotionless golden-winged form, dismantled the Snow Empress's regenerative cocoon, converted her hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring into a blue ring, absorbed it into Ling Mo, and destroyed the Soul Bone rather than allowing him to claim it 10.
After another intervention against the Imperial Beast, the End was targeted by the Will of Honkai. The Will could not directly seize her due to the Douluo World's own will, but her actions threatened the world's established fate and created an opening for it to interfere. To escape this vulnerability, the End resolved to integrate herself into the world's rules by creating a divine position of her own 27.
Following Ling Mo's second transmigration, she appeared openly in his Stigmata Space. She demanded his assistance in analyzing the new world's rules and locating an object containing part of those rules, intending to use Ling Mo's Martial Soul as a catalyst for their merger 29 30.
Appearance
Outside of possession, the End resembles an ordinary yet mature-looking young woman distinguished by a golden cross-shaped mark on her forehead 29.
When controlling Ling Mo's body in the Far North, she manifests a markedly different form 10:
- Ling Mo's hair turns snow-white.
- A golden halo appears above the head.
- A square, star-like mark appears on the forehead.
- Peculiar golden wings unfold from the back.
- Her golden eyes are completely devoid of emotion.
Personality
The End is direct, domineering, and contemptuous of those she considers weak. She treats the Demon God Emperor as insignificant despite his confidence, bluntly demands his Demon God Pillars, and shows little patience for negotiation 40.
Her interactions with Ling Mo are simultaneously coercive and oddly familiar. She threatens to remain in his body if he refuses to cooperate, physically intimidates him during their discussions, and openly claims to understand his character well 29 30 41.
Despite having served the Will of Honkai, she questions the value of destroying civilization for no benefit beyond hatred. Her stated objective is not indiscriminate destruction, but freedom from the Will of Honkai through integration with the rules of the worlds she enters 27 30.
Abilities & Skills
Herrscher Authority
The End is identified as the strongest and most effective executor created by the Will of Honkai. In the novel's power comparison, she is placed at the level of Douluo's Creation God or potentially above it 22 27.
- Her previous incarnations repeatedly destroyed human civilization for the Will of Honkai 27.
- Even in a weakened condition, she was considered beyond the threat posed by Di Tian and the Silver Dragon's assistance 27.
- The Snow Empress cannot summon the will to resist her overwhelming presence 40.
Host Control
The End can enter Ling Mo's Stigmata Space and take temporary control of his body 10 29.
- She intervened when Ling Mo was unconscious and under mortal threat from the Snow Empress 10.
- She later controlled him again to confront the Demon God Emperor and obtain the First Demon God Pillar 40 41.
- Her control is not unrestricted: Ling Mo's original soul remains present, and forced possession would cause their souls to influence one another 41.
- Ling Mo infers that she can act most freely when he has lost consciousness and his body is temporarily unoccupied 41.
Soul Ring and Matter Manipulation
The End can alter Soul Ring properties and destroy physical spiritual materials 10 41.
- She transformed the Snow Empress's blood-red Soul Ring into a sapphire-blue ring threaded with black-and-white light before merging it into Ling Mo 10.
- She crushed the Snow Empress's Soul Bone into dust 10.
- She compressed the First Demon God Pillar into a Soul Ring, refined its unstable patterns, and used crimson-gold blood from the Imaginary Space in its creation 41.
- The resulting dark-purple ring became Ling Mo's fifth Soul Ring after absorption 41.
Rule Integration and Divine Ambition
The End seeks to avoid the Will of Honkai by becoming recognized by the world wills of the planes she enters 27 29.
- She considers godhood the most efficient route to integration in the Douluo World 27.
- Because no existing divine position suits the many laws she controls, she intends to create one herself 27.
- She requires a catalyst to merge world rules and identifies Ling Mo's Martial Soul as a suitable one 30.
- She can sense objects that contain portions of a world's rules and directs Ling Mo to locate them 30.
