Background / History

Xiao Yan was a Xiao Family disciple whose cultivation had remained at the third stage of Dou Qi for years. He vented his frustration on the Xiao Clan’s Back Mountain, where Xiao Han approached him and recognized the significance of the ring on his hand and its resident mentor, Yao Chen. 2

Yao Chen offered to guide Xiao Yan toward strength if he would leave the Xiao Clan, but Xiao Yan refused because he feared for his father’s safety. This decision established his loyalty to his family despite his desire to recover his former talent. 6

Xiao Yan’s relationship with Xiao Han rapidly became hostile after Xiao Han destroyed his marriage certificate with Nalan Yanran. Their conflict intensified when Xiao Han took the Eight Extremes Collapse from him and later stripped away his cultivation and Intelligence. 14 24 92
