History

Ancient era and decline

The Xiao Clan was formerly counted among the Ancient Eight Great Clans. Its ancestor, Xiao Xuan, was one of the Five Great Powerhouses and possessed three Different Fires. While attempting to use the clan's bloodline power to reach the Dou Di realm, he was besieged by two Nine-Star Dou Shengs of the Hun Clan and the Void Swallowing Flame. His body was destroyed, leaving only a remnant soul. 17

Xiao Xuan's fall was followed by the clan's decline. The Gold Devouring Rat Clan, once the Xiao Clan's gatekeepers, remained unharmed when the Hun Clan invaded after Xiao Xuan's defeat. 318

By the time of the Wutan City arc, the former ancient clan had diminished into the Xiao Family, with its members living in Wutan City. Xiao Han later tells Xiao Xuan directly that “the Xiao Clan no longer exists” in its former form. 413

Wutan City period

In Wutan City, the Xiao Clan was one of the Three Great Clans, led by Patriarch Xiao Zhan and governed alongside the Three Great Elders. Its Back Mountain, Council Hall, Dou Skills Hall, and Training Field served as important clan grounds. 11 23 88

The clan maintained a coming-of-age examination for its younger generation. Members needed to reach the seventh stage of Dou Qi to qualify; those who failed could be assigned to clan businesses rather than remain in the main family. 2 88

Although it possessed the Profound Middle-Rank cultivation technique Raging Lion's Aura, the clan's wider resources were limited. Even Yao Lao considered it a minor force once outside the Gamma Empire. 6 11

Xiao Han's leadership

Xiao Han's return on the Amethyst Winged Lion King altered the clan's standing in Wutan City. Xiao Zhan's attempt to expel him for missing the coming-of-age ceremony was abandoned, and Xiao Han was ordered to take the entrance examination instead. 88 89

After Xiao Han displayed One-Star Dou Wang cultivation, the Supreme Elder proposed him as the new patriarch. Xiao Han accepted on the conditions that he would not handle the clan's daily affairs and would retain the Tuoshe Ancient Jade Fragment, the patriarchal token. 94

Xiao Han formally replaced Xiao Zhan after defeating him and obtaining the patriarch's token. His ascension brought the clan major prestige, while its elders began considering eventual territorial expansion and even the establishment of a kingdom. 95 97

As patriarch, Xiao Han declined the Gamma Empire's Star Glory Duke title and instead obtained a section of the Monster Beast Mountain Range near the Tagor Desert. He intended for the Xiao Clan to establish its own nation rather than become tied to the Gamma Empire. 100

Restoration

During the contest over Xiao Xuan's inheritance, Xiao Han declared that he wished to reconcile the Xiao Clan and Hun Clan rather than seek revenge against the latter. He viewed peaceful coexistence as necessary because he carried bloodlines from both clans. 414

Xiao Han persuaded Xiao Yu to absorb the Xiao Clan's remaining Dou Di Bloodline from the Blood Pool. He chose not to take it himself, believing that his Hun Clan God-Rank Bloodline still gave him a route toward the Dou Di realm. 416

After Xiao Han became a Dou Di, the Xiao Clan's dormant Dou Di Bloodline was reactivated and elevated to God-Rank quality. Clan members experienced cultivation gains, while Xiao Xuan regained vitality and youth. 431

Following Hun Tiandi's fall, Xiao Xuan and many Xiao Clan Dou Shengs created a new independent space at the location of the clan's former one. The restored clan no longer needed to live under the Eastern Hun Family's protection. 432
