Background / History

Leng Yaozhu was long devoted to Sky-Piercing Douluo Yun Ming and never married or had children. After accepting Gu Yue as her disciple, she redirected her hopes toward raising Gu Yue into an independent, peerless figure rather than letting her become dependent on Xia Yi. 82

She has a younger sister, Leng Yulai, whose descent toward becoming an Evil Spirit Master deeply affected her. Leng Yaozhu believed she had wronged Yulai and remained determined to purge the evil aura from her sister’s Soul Power before it became irreversible. 81 156

Leng Yaozhu publicly accepted Xia Yi as her disciple, partly protecting him from factions interested in the Ice God’s Heart he had swallowed. The announcement made him politically associated with the Spirit Pagoda and strained his standing with the Blacksmith Association. 98 99
