Background

Leng Yulai and her elder sister, Leng Yaozhu, were among the Leng Family's greatest historical talents. Their father nevertheless broke clan custom by naming Yaozhu—already a Spirit Pagoda Spirit Envoy—the young clan head, a position for which Yulai had otherwise been the leading candidate. 187 224

After witnessing Yaozhu confess to Yun Ming, Yulai left in anger. The Holy Spirit Cult had already been observing her Dark Phoenix Martial Soul and exploited her emotional collapse, using a secret art to amplify her negative emotions until she became an Evil Spirit Master and one of the Cult's Four Heavenly Kings. 94 223

Seeking a Divine Craftsman to make Four-Word Battle Armor, Yulai planned to capture Zhen Hua and use him for the Holy Spirit Cult. She instead targeted Xia Yi, believing he could be used to threaten Zhen Hua, but Xia Yi imprisoned her in the Bronze Space within his Spiritual World. 208

During more than four years of confinement, Yulai studied the carvings of the River Chart and Luo Book, received occasional guidance from the remnant soul of Xia Yi's past life, and gradually purified the evil power in her body. She emerged determined to follow Xia Yi in pursuit of godhood, initially calling him “Master” before changing her address to “My Lord.” 208 230

Her reunion with Leng Yaozhu exposed the severe hidden injuries caused by refining the Demon God Sword: her organs, Soul Core, and Spiritual World were all damaged.
