Background / History

Xia Yi began as an unusually intelligent ten-year fox in the Star Dou Forest. Unlike ordinary young soul beasts, he used traps, deception, and combat timing to hunt prey far stronger than himself. His first meeting with Gu Yue ended violently when he attempted to strike her throat; her survival and his calculated tactics made her suspect that he was hiding extraordinary secrets 1 3.

The Plane Master forcibly transformed Xia Yi into a human child with Innate Full Soul Power. Gu Yue assumed responsibility for him, while Di Tian and Zi Ji subjected him to a month of intensive training supervised by Bi Ji. His ability to immediately learn techniques and infer further applications astonished his trainers, but he remained guarded and refused to reveal his secrets 5 6.

Gu Yue sent Xia Yi into human society through Eastsea City, intending for him to enter Shrek Academy's Zero Class. His assessment against Tang Wulin established his reputation early: Xia Yi defeated Tang Wulin in three moves, seriously injuring him and beginning a long-running rivalry 7 8.

While adapting to human life, Xia Yi pursued blacksmithing through Mu Xi and the Blacksmith Association. He is also vain, playful, and frequently shameless.
