Background / History
Tang San was born to Tang Hao and Ah Yin. Ah Yin sacrificed herself on the day of his birth, leaving Tang Hao grief-stricken and unable to properly raise his son. As a small child, Tang San had to cook porridge for his father himself. 8
Before this life, Tang San was an orphan of the Tang Sect. He secretly learned its internal techniques and hidden-weapon arts, was ostracized for doing so, and ultimately jumped from a cliff before being reborn in the Douluo Continent. He later disclosed this past to Ming Zhen. 23
Tang Hao revealed that Tang San possessed Twin Martial Souls and was apprenticed to Yu Xiaogang. Tang Yunhua and Ming Zhen brought Tang Hao and Tang San to Calais City, giving him a more stable home and transferring his schooling. 7 8
Tang San eventually learned that his mother had been a hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast and the Blue Silver Emperor whose bloodline was the source of his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. 23
When Ah Yin's condition required a stronger bloodline response, Tang San voluntarily underwent a dangerous secondary awakening at the Clear Sky Sect. Ah Yin's Origin awakened his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, while the Asura God Sword's Sword Embryo unexpectedly fused into him. He survived the process severely injured but emerged transformed. 36 39
Appearance
Following his secondary awakening, Tang San's black hair became blue, his skin grew fairer, his features more refined, and his body taller. Tang Yunhua remarked that he now visibly resembled both Ah Yin and Tang Hao. 38
- Originally had darker skin and comparatively ordinary features among the Shrek Seven Devils. 211
- Has smooth, jade-like hands, trained through the Mysterious Jade Hand. 8 20
- His left hand becomes black, bulky, and clawed when the Asura Void-Breaking Claw is active. 20 44
- His time in the City of Slaughter left him emaciated, sickly pale, and visibly worn down. 211
- His eyes became gloomy and fierce after the City of Slaughter, reflecting his psychological strain. 213
Personality
Tang San is exceptionally diligent. Even as a child, he instinctively used spare moments to cultivate the Mysterious Heaven Skill, earning Ming Sui's private description of him as a “king of effort.” 8 He is also cautious about advancement, refusing to add Soul Rings to his Clear Sky Hammer prematurely after learning that another Twin Martial Soul wielder had died attempting the same. 108
He is direct about responsibilities he considers his own. When asked to awaken his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline for Ah Yin, he accepted the danger without hesitation, believing strength requires accepting its price. 37
Tang San is analytical and resourceful in combat and planning. He studies Martial Soul development, selects Immortal Herbs for allies, devises poison-based solutions, and identifies strategic vulnerabilities in enemy forces. 78 79 97 210 216
His pursuit of the Asura God's inheritance creates an ongoing moral conflict. The City of Slaughter's forced killings leave him questioning whether slaughter is compatible with the true duty of an Asura God. He concludes that judgment must be based on evidence and fairness, with violence serving as a means rather than a foundation. 210 211
