Early life and Shrek Academy

Dai Mubai was the Third Prince of the Star Luo Empire. As a child, he was injured during a conflict involving Star Luo guests and Heaven Dou personnel; Holy Light Douluo Ming Zhen stabilized his wound. Though pale and still recovering, Dai Mubai accepted the reality of competition rather than protesting his circumstances. 2 3

He was sent to Heaven Dou as a hostage amid the Star Luo succession struggle. Zhu Zhuqing secretly boarded his carriage and insisted on accompanying him, even under those conditions. The experience convinced Dai Mubai that Dai Weisi's six-year age advantage did not make the outcome immutable, and that he could not allow Zhu Zhuqing to be dragged down with him. 29

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing entered Shrek Academy together. At the time, he was a level 28 Attack-Type Battle Soul Master, while Zhu Zhuqing was a level 15 Soul Master. 9

Star Luo succession conflict

Dai Mubai's rivalry with his elder brother, Dai Weisi, centered on the Star Luo throne. During a return to Star Luo territory, Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing planned to secure two imperial Soul Bones—the Diamond Tiger's Left Arm Bone for Dai Mubai and the Thunderstorm Dragon's Palm Bone for Zhu Zhuqing—before Dai Weisi could claim them.
