Background

Yu Xiaogang is the younger son of Yu Yuanzhen, the patriarch of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. His inherited martial soul underwent an extreme regression into Luo Sanpao, leaving him dismissed as useless within the clan from childhood. His resentment toward the clan’s contempt became the central motive behind his desire to evolve Luo Sanpao and return in triumph. 227 251 252

Luo Sanpao was a rare materialized martial soul with its own body, intelligence, and ability to eat. Yu Xiaogang fed it white radishes to strengthen its first and second soul skills, but its lightning-attributed soul rings and repeated use of its excretory skills left it prone to indigestion and incompatible with Light Attribute dragon flesh. 116 117

He became Tang San’s teacher at Nuoding Academy. When Bibi Dong reappeared and offered to evolve Luo Sanpao, Yu Xiaogang agreed to go to Spirit City only after arranging for Tang San to accompany him, presenting himself as a teacher who would not abandon his disciple. 110 112

Appearance

Following the Seven Absolutes Sun Severing Flower incident, Yu Xiaogang’s body becomes noticeably more feminine in appearance. He later manifests the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon through Martial Soul Possession.

Personality

Yu Xiaogang is intensely obsessed with proving that he is not the clan failure others believed him to be. His ambition centers on evolving Luo Sanpao into the Golden Sacred Dragon, becoming recognized as a genuine Martial Soul Theory Master, and forcing the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan to acknowledge him. He repeatedly endures humiliation, dangerous treatments, and physical pain in pursuit of that validation. 116 142 152

He maintains a composed, scholarly “Grandmaster” persona, often speaking with deliberate restraint and presenting himself as unfairly underestimated. Privately, however, he doubts his own ability to solve problems such as the Seven-in-One Fusion Skill, while refusing to admit those limitations to Liu Erlong. 227 291

His later actions reveal a calculating and self-serving side. He exposes Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls and parentage to Meng Shu in an attempt to obtain support against Gu Han, and Bibi Dong later reveals that he tried to kill her in exchange for restoration of his masculinity. 227 228 358

Spirit Hall and Luo Sanpao’s Failed Evolution

Bibi Dong brings Yu Xiaogang and Tang San to Spirit City, intending to reproduce Gu Han’s method of evolving a Luo Sanpao-like martial soul. Yu Xiaogang feeds Luo Sanpao Holy Light White Dragon flesh, but its Light and Lightning attributes clash; the martial soul can absorb little nourishment before violently expelling the material. 112 116 117

Unable to accept failure, Yu Xiaogang searches Spirit Hall’s library, continues feeding Luo Sanpao dragon flesh and medicine, and endures Gu Han’s supposed treatments. The treatments are designed to torment rather than help him, but Yu Xiaogang persists because he remains fixated on becoming a Golden Sacred Dragon wielder. 119 141 152 153

Seven Absolutes Sun Severing Flower

Bibi Dong gives Yu Xiaogang the Seven Absolutes Sun Severing Flower in hopes of solving his martial soul problem. He consumes the entire flower, breaks through to Rank 30, and suffers severe burning effects that strip him of his masculinity. 157 158 159

Luo Sanpao becomes the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, but its original skills remain unchanged. Yu Xiaogang’s First Soul Skill consequently forces him to perform its explosive excretory effect himself, causing him to collapse in humiliation. 160 161

Suotuo City Infamy

After Gu Han exposes his history with Bibi Dong and his use of Spirit Hall resources, Yu Xiaogang lashes out with his first two soul skills to rescue Flender and Qin Ming. The resulting foul mist and waste engulf the area around Suotuo Great Soul Arena, making him notorious throughout Suotuo City. 209 210 211

He later attempts to use Tang San’s identity as Tang Hao’s son, as well as Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls, to convince Meng Shu to cooperate against Gu Han. The attempt instead worsens Tang Hao’s opinion of him and contributes to the rift between Yu Xiaogang and Tang San. 227 228 234

Return to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan

Following the loss of his arm and Tang San’s crippled leg, Yu Xiaogang returns to his clan with Liu Erlong and Flender. He fears revealing his evolved martial soul because its first two skills remain humiliating, but Yu Yuanzhen publicly forces him to demonstrate it. 251 254 255

Yu Xiaogang initially receives the recognition he always desired when the audience sees his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon. Gu Han then pushes him to reveal all of his skills; the First and Second Soul Skills turn the ceremony into a catastrophe, humiliating Yu Xiaogang, Yu Yuanzhen, and the entire clan. 255 256 257 259

Betrayal and Downfall

Yu Xiaogang continues seeking ways to restore his reputation, including claiming that he can develop a Seven-in-One Fusion Skill and planning to use Bibi Dong’s knowledge of Twin Martial Souls to strengthen Tang San. 291 304 305

After Tang Chen and the Asura God offer restoration of his masculinity, Yu Xiaogang betrays Bibi Dong by drugging her and abandoning her in the Star Dou Great Forest, intending for her to die. Bibi Dong survives, exposes his actions, and later takes revenge by castrating and torturing him. 338 356 358 359 361

When Bibi Dong offers freedom for himself and Tang San in exchange for abandoning Liu Erlong, Flender, and their companions, Yu Xiaogang accepts. Gu Han then exploits the wording of the promise, leaving Yu Xiaogang humiliated before the crowd once again. 361 362
