Overlimit Shooting

Carried to the rooftop like a piece of luggage, Xina squatted nearby with a stern face, assembling her firearm.

Even as she worked, she could not help muttering, "If I'd known you were going to carry me up here, why the hell did I bother running..."

For most of the rest of the day, the three of them were bored out of their minds. Aside from firing a few shots from above to assist teams calling for help, Xina sat beside the tripod, leaning against her Sniper Rifle and dozing off.

It was not until evening, when Mei received the Withdrawal Order, that she drove around to the base of Xina's building to pick them up and take them back.

From what Kiana and the others talked about, every squad had made good progress today. At this pace, everyone would be able to finish the mission and return home within a month.

When they set out the next day, Kiana, having forgotten yesterday's lesson, clamored for Xina to take them on another wild ride. Mary and Rosa were so terrified that they nearly drew their swords and held them to their own throats, begging Xina to show mercy.

Thinking of how she and the other drivers had spent last night maintaining the vehicles until their backs could barely straighten, Xina shook her head and refused Kiana's request. She firmly declared that she would never drive again—unless they did not expect her to repair the vehicle afterward!

And so, today's Assault Vehicle driver became Bronya, the St. Freya Car God.

It was just that Bronya's height was... a little too short for this vehicle.

Looking in through the front windshield, all one could see was half of Bronya's little head poking out from the middle of the steering wheel.

For the sake of her own safety, Xina could only sit expressionlessly in the passenger seat, becoming a human traffic-navigation system devoid of emotion.

After getting out at the same place where they had drifted yesterday, Xina once again took the Human-Powered Stair Climber to the top of the building.

Before they could set up the Large Sniper Rifle, another team ran into trouble.

"Hello, hello, calling Xina Squad, calling Xina Squad! Xina Squad, please respond if you receive this!"

An anxious female voice came through the Small Radio worn in the Valkyries' ears.

"Received. Go ahead!" Xina pulled a loose Sniper Scope from the Sniper Rifle case, using the scope—which cost as much as a sports car—as a monocular.

"This is Bixi. We've encountered a large group of enemies over here. We've already fired a signal flare. Can you see it from your position?" Before the caller finished speaking, a Dark Green Light Smoke Signal Flare shot into the sky from a certain direction.

"My God, there must be at least two hundred Death Stalkers in there alone."

Mary and Rosa lay side by side atop the wall, using binoculars to observe the dense mass of Death Stalkers below the signal flare's launch point.

"Captain, there are Assault-Class Honkai Beasts and Knight-class Honkai Beasts in there too. There are even several Chariot-class and Ballista-class ones. Can we really handle this?"

"Why not?" Xina dragged the Large Sniper Rifle to a platform with a broad field of view and lay prone.

She first held the Sniper Scope and estimated the approximate location. Then, she turned the dial on the side of the gun from zero to the maximum setting of five.

The next second, she took a deep breath expressionlessly. Her spirit, will, and weapon seemed to merge into one, while a virtual ballistic trajectory that did not exist in reality took shape within her mind.

The Herrscher of Shooting, the breeze brushing past the Herrscher's ear, the Holy Lance Longinus, and the distant moving Honkai Beasts were linked together by a white arc.

"Bixi, take your people and get under cover!" Mary stared at the Blue Light flickering at the muzzle of the Holy Lance Longinus and hurriedly warned their allies to watch out.

Click!

Xina pulled the trigger. A freezing current, a tempest, and that radiant blue glow burst from the barrel together. The blue energy mass, trailing a long tail behind it, shot toward the target point at several times the speed of sound!

Boom!

The energy mass exploded one second later. The entire street, filled with Death Stalkers and Honkai Beasts, was completely frozen by the impact of that High-Energy Explosive Bomb!

Not long afterward, Bixi Squad's laughter of survival rang out through the communication earpieces. "That was amazing, sis! That shot was insane!"

Hearing Bixi and the others' excited voices, Mary and Rosa, who had been worried that their allies might get caught in the blast, finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Can level-five Overlimit Shooting only be used once? What a shame..." Xina silently dragged the rifle, its entire body smoking black, down from the platform and tossed the weapon, which needed extensive repairs, into its attached large metal case.

The power of a single shot had frozen an entire street four kilometers away. Though it could only be used once, that attack—close to the level of an Emperor-class Honkai Beast—still made Xina curious about just what had been going through its creator's mind.
