Power Progression
| Stage | Development | Demonstrated Scope / Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| Unawakened aptitude | Jennifer sometimes hears strange sounds when nobody is around. Wen Xishu concludes that she and Jack share an unusual potential and are mutually drawn to one another. 11 13 | No named supernatural ability is demonstrated at this stage. Wen Xishu instructs Jack to master his own power and protect her during the approaching disaster. 13 |
| Ghoul evolution and altered survival | Jennifer has the qualifications to advance into Ghoul Jennifer. Following the changed Desire Tower events, the reset scenario describes her and Jack as two monsters who successfully reunite. 14 | Her transformed anatomy, individual combat techniques, and exact evolution stage are not specified. 14 |
| Living Slaughter Tower counterpart | Jennifer is confirmed alive and non-hostile toward a Bunker climber, rather than remaining motionless like a puppet in the earlier Monster Compendium depiction. 84 | The changed encounter reflects Wen Xishu's intervention in her fate; it does not establish a named new ability. 84 |
| Boss-Level existence in Moen City | Slaughter Jennifer communicates with Wen Xishu and other Boss-Level beings. She and Jack hold their own building and remain stronger than the rat leader empowered by Leo, although its increasing strength alters the city's balance of power. 110 111 | Jennifer and Jack have not received Gemini's blessing. Jennifer also refuses Virgo's recruitment because it requires leaving Jack. 111 |
| Later powerful form | Wen Xishu recalls that a senior student's encounter established the immense power of Jack's next-stage form together with Jennifer. He subsequently reunites with them during a Storytelling Club Incident. 163 | Jennifer's individual abilities remain unnamed, and no separate new evolution rank is identified for her. 163 |
Background / History
Jennifer lived with her mother, Yulia, in the slums of Moen City on the Strange Tower's twenty-first floor. Although Yulia wanted to sever ties with their poor neighbors and move into a better home, Jennifer cared deeply for the people around her—especially Jack, who sincerely enjoyed spending time and performing for her. 6 7
When Jack became a murderous madman, Yulia told Jennifer to hide under her bed. Wen Xishu found her there and identified her as the person behind the distress call. Unable to speak without attracting Jack, Jennifer communicated through her phone and followed Wen Xishu's written instructions as he led her through the Loop Building. 5 6
Jennifer accompanied Wen Xishu into Jack's room and watched the performance of Jack's life, grieving for the kind man he had once been. During their escape, she resisted a false projection of Yulia calling her to turn around, instead trusting Wen Xishu and refusing to look back. 7 8
In the Tower of Desire version of Moen City, Jennifer's happiness could be raised easily, yet ordinary climbers could achieve only the minimum completion. Wen Xishu determined that the source of her future unhappiness was Jack's engineered descent into madness. He saved Jack's mother from the corruptor posing as a doctor, warned Jack that Jennifer shared his unusual aptitude, and encouraged him to protect her through the coming disaster. 9 12 13
The doctor's interference had made Jennifer's fate especially dangerous. In the original storyline without that interference, Jack retained enough humanity to spare her. After the doctor engineered his mother's death, however, Jack's jealousy of Jennifer's relationship with Yulia led him to kill her when she turned back. Wen Xishu first prevented that outcome by earning Jennifer's trust on the staircase, then changed the underlying circumstances by saving Jack's mother. 13
Jennifer was delighted by the prospect of Jack becoming a monster and fulfilling his promise to give her an unforgettable performance. Her happiness reached 99 after Wen Xishu assured her that Jack would remain with her. 13
After the altered Tower of Desire events caused the Deception scenario to restart, Yulia abandoned Jennifer during the apocalypse. Jennifer later called for help to reach Jack's Deceptive Tower, where the two reunited. Their bond was described as closer to that of father and daughter than any ordinary relationship. 14
Her changed fate subsequently became visible in the Slaughter Tower. An earlier Monster Compendium depiction showed Jennifer motionless like a puppet beside Jack, which Wen Xishu associated with a trajectory in which Jack might have killed her. Zhang Wei instead encountered a living Jennifer who helped him rather than attacking him and asked about Wen Xishu. 84
Jennifer and Jack continued living together in their Moen City building. They met Gemini but received no blessing from him; he encouraged them to treasure one another and spoke of a future opportunity in the city. Jennifer separately rejected Virgo's attempt to recruit her because it would have required leaving Jack. Their local position became more troublesome after Leo empowered the leader of the rats they had been eating. 110 111
During a later Storytelling Club Incident, Jennifer reunited with Wen Xishu in person. She asked him to eliminate the nearby rats, but he explained that he was present only as a weak avatar and could not help at that time. He invited her and Jack to seek him in Wind City if they encountered trouble they could not resolve. After he departed, Jack asked whether she had considered leaving Moen City, and Jennifer admitted that she wanted to see the outside world. 163
Appearance
Jennifer is a young girl with freckles, a ponytail, and large blinking eyes. When Wen Xishu first meets her, her extreme fear makes her otherwise cute features appear eerie. 5
- Freckled face 5
- Ponytail 5
- Large eyes 5
- Later holds Jack's hand after arriving at the Deceptive Tower 14
- Retains an affectionate, appealing appearance when later seen sitting on Jack's shoulder, in contrast to his increasingly terrifying form. 163
- Wen Xishu remarks that she has become heavier when she jumps into his arms during their reunion. 163
Personality
Jennifer is easily pleased by small kindnesses, but her happiness is fragile because the tragedy surrounding Jack and Moen City continually threatens to erase it. 9 10
Though initially terrified of Jack and the old building, she is observant, cooperative, and capable of keeping calm under pressure. She communicates silently when necessary, follows Wen Xishu's directions, and recognizes that the voice calling from behind her is not truly her mother. 6 8
She is also curious about the unknown rather than wholly repulsed by it. Jennifer is frightened by monstrous imagery, yet considers the idea of Jack becoming a monster “cool” because he is someone she trusts. Wen Xishu regards her as open-minded, intelligent, and potentially suited to become a witch. 13 14
Her later conduct combines childlike affection with a more sinister outlook. She speaks casually about eating people while asking how Wen Xishu became so powerful, and she expresses her intention to wait for Yulia's return with an explicitly malicious smile. Her warmth toward Jack and Wen Xishu nevertheless remains intact. 110
Jennifer values her comfortable life with Jack but remains curious about places beyond Moen City. Her refusal to leave him for Virgo demonstrates that their bond matters more to her than that recruitment opportunity. She later explains that she has never seen the outside world and wonders whether it offers more than rats to eat. 111 163
Abilities & Skills
Survival Judgment
Jennifer demonstrates no active supernatural ability during the initial Deception trial, but she displays unusually reliable judgment for a child.
- Communicates silently by phone while hiding from Jack, avoiding the danger of speaking aloud. 5 6
- Trusts Wen Xishu over the false projection of Yulia and does not look back on the endless staircase. 8
- Remains cooperative rather than creating additional danger while being escorted through the building. 6 8
Tower Aptitude and Evolution Potential
Jennifer possesses an unusual aptitude linked to Jack's own transformation.
- Jack reports that Jennifer sometimes hears strange sounds when nobody is nearby. 11
- Wen Xishu tells Jack that Jennifer has the same aptitude as him and that they are drawn to one another. 13
- She is associated with the designation “Ghoul Jennifer,” while Slaughter Jennifer's recruitment prerequisite is unlocked after the Deception scenario concludes. 7 14
- Wen Xishu believes she has the potential to become a witch, citing her intelligence, calmness, and curiosity toward monsters. 14
- The reset scenario describes Jennifer and Jack as monsters, and later Slaughter Tower communication places her among Boss-Level beings. 14 110 111
- No specific named supernatural power or individual combat technique for Jennifer is described in the available passages. Her later appearance alongside Jack is nevertheless associated with immensely powerful abilities. 163
Boss-Level Standing and Constellation Eligibility
Jennifer and Jack possess a stable base in their own building, unlike the weaker An Family brothers, who remain itinerant bosses. Jennifer states that Leo's empowered rat leader is still no match for the two of them, although its growing power has changed the balance within Moen City. This establishes their joint standing rather than a precise measure of Jennifer's individual strength. 111
- Gemini compatibility — Her bond with Jack satisfies Gemini's interest in closely connected pairs. Gemini meets them and encourages them to continue treasuring one another, but they have not received his blessing. 111
- Virgo compatibility — Virgo attempts to recruit Jennifer. Jennifer refuses because accepting would require leaving Jack. 111
- Diet — Jennifer discusses eating people and confirms that she and Jack have been eating Moen City's rats. No specific ability gained from feeding is identified for her. 110 111 163
Relationships
- Wen Xishu — Rescuer and trusted “Brother Shu.” Jennifer relies on his guidance in the old building, later reluctantly watches him leave, and records his name. 6 8 14 She subsequently seeks information about him from Bunker climbers and excitedly joins his long-distance chat channel. Mistaking that communication for an extraordinarily powerful Mental Invasion ability, she believes he has evolved far beyond her and Jack. During their later reunion, she jumps into his arms and asks for help with Moen City's rats. 84 110 163
- Jack / Deception Jack — Beloved neighbor and protector. Jennifer enjoys his performances, remains devoted to him after his transformation, and reaches mutual favorability of 100 with him. 6 7 13 14 They continue sharing a building in Moen City, qualify for Gemini's interest through their bond, and remain together after Jennifer rejects Virgo's recruitment. 111
- Yulia — Mother. Yulia initially orders Jennifer to hide from Jack, restricts her contact with him, and later abandons her during the apocalypse. 6 7 14 Jennifer later says she is waiting in Moen City for her mother to return, accompanying the statement with a malicious smile. 110
- Remian — A neighbor whose hostility toward Jack helps trigger the crisis that endangers Jennifer. 6 7
- Zhang Wei — A Bunker climber whom Jennifer helps rather than attacks. Jack describes him as a human they rescued; his encounter provides the Bunker with evidence that Jennifer is alive and seeking Wen Xishu. 84 110
- Gemini — A constellation who meets Jennifer and Jack, approves of their bond, and encourages them to treasure one another. They receive no blessing from him at that time. 111
- Virgo — Attempts to recruit Jennifer, but Jennifer refuses to leave Jack. No retaliation follows her refusal. 111
- Leo and the rat leader — Leo empowers the rat leader, increasing the threat posed by the rats to Jennifer and Jack's position in Moen City. Jennifer repeatedly asks Wen Xishu to help eliminate them. 110 111 163
- Xue Mingye — A student who develops an extreme obsession with Jennifer, asking to see her and be tortured by her. Wen Xishu offers to treat his condition; the account does not establish that Jennifer reciprocates his fixation. 245
Story Role / Major Arcs
Jack's Haunted Building
Jennifer is the subject of a distress call in the Strange Tower. Wen Xishu hides with her beneath her bed, protects her from the madman Jack, and guides her through the looping building toward the exit. 5 6 8
Her trust is essential to avoiding the staircase's final trap. After several increases in favorability, she follows Wen Xishu's warning instead of turning toward the false Yulia. This prevents the death that the doctor's interference had introduced into her fate. 8 13
The Tower of Desire Investigation
Jennifer becomes the objective of a forty-eight-hour mission to find lasting happiness. Wen Xishu learns that simply cheering her up produces only minimal completion; he instead investigates Jack's fate and prevents the corruptor from destroying the bond Jennifer depends on. 9 10 12 13
Reunion with Deception Jack
After the scenario resets, Jennifer survives Yulia's abandonment and asks for help reaching Jack's Deceptive Tower. Her reunion with Jack completes the altered resolution of the Jack incident and unlocks further implications for her Slaughter Tower counterpart. 14
The wider resolution earns Wen Xishu Level Six completion through an Area Reset that frees the area's targets from their shackles. Jennifer's continued survival in the Slaughter Tower later demonstrates that his intervention affected more than the immediate rescue scenario. 17 84
Slaughter Tower Contact
News that a living Jennifer has helped Zhang Wei and asked for Wen Xishu brings her changed fate to the Academy's attention. During Wen Xishu's first Slaughter Tower journey, she and Jack enter the chat channel enabled by Scorpio's Cheating Knife and speak with him across the immense distance between Moen City and Longxia. They mistake this communication function for an overwhelming Mental Invasion power. 84 110
Jennifer supplies information about life in Moen City, Leo's support for the rat leader, and Virgo's failed recruitment attempt. Jack explains their encounter with Gemini and the absence of a blessing. Their testimony helps Wen Xishu understand how changing individuals' fates also changes the distribution of potential followers among the constellations. 111
Communication alone does not unlock their recruitment. Wen Xishu notes that his favorability with Jack and Jennifer remains 90 and concludes that he likely needs to reach Moen City to obtain their recruitment quests. 113
Storytelling Club Reunion
Wen Xishu tells the Storytelling Club about Jack and Jennifer seeking him, presenting their interest in a way that leads the audience to expect hostility. The ensuing Incident instead brings an affectionate reunion: Jennifer recognizes him immediately, leaves Jack's shoulder, and jumps into his arms. 163
She asks him to deal with the rats, but his avatar cannot provide that assistance. He offers Wind City as a refuge if she and Jack encounter an unsolvable problem. After he leaves, the two discuss venturing beyond Moen City. 163
Later Recruitment Limitations
When Wen Xishu later considers using Ascension to strengthen his allies, Jennifer and Jack are not eligible candidates. Unlike Tang Rui, they have not provided the written invitation needed for that opportunity. He considers obtaining such invitations through deeper bonds and increased affection in the Slaughter Tower. 397
