Dumbledore's Pain

In the quiet dormitory, pale moonlight shone down, and only Dumbledore soft but clear voice echoed in Sean's ears.

"I always thought that Blood Curse and Obscurus might be in a 'competitive state,' a kind of opposition between Curse Magic and Dark Magic, a competition between two kinds of magic, but I recently realized that I was wrong."

Dumbledore sighed deeply, "Aurelius managed to control the Obscurus, partly with my help. I found a way to temporarily suppress the Obscurus's power, and Aurelius himself was special. Under that suppression, he finally learned how to control the Obscurus."

"Actually, I was originally quite proud. Although not every Obscurial is as special as Aurelius, I could at least offer them some help, extend Obscurial lives, and reduce the damage they suffer when the Obscurus erupts. That's what I originally thought, and that's why I did it to Daisy."

Sean saw that Dumbledore's face was full of self-reproach.

"However, I didn't realize the special nature of the Blood Curse. It brought out the wild instincts of the beast, and the suppressed Obscurus to regard that consciousness as another host..."

Sean's mouth dropped open slightly, revealing an expression of disbelief.

Has the Obscurus combined with the Blood Curse?!

Dumbledore's next words confirmed his suspicions. "The Obscurus within Daisy quietly split into two parts, one binding Daisy's consciousness, and the other controlled by the animalistic instincts brought about by the Blood Curse..."

"When Daisy transformed into her other form, the already uncontrollable Obscurus became even more savage. That power relentlessly harmed Daisy herself and also frantically sought to destroy everything around her. But under my suppression, that madness didn't manifest, and none of us noticed anything amiss..."

Sean and Dumbledore both fell silent.

Looking at the remorseful old man, Sean said softly, "Professor, it wasn't your fault. If you hadn't suppressed him, perhaps it would have happened much sooner..."

Dumbledore weak smile, "You're so considerate, Sean. Lily told me the same thing... But I can't forgive myself. An old man who has studied magic for hundreds of years couldn't even save a little girl, and..."

The old man lowered his head. "Sean, have I told you? I have a younger sister..."

Sean didn't speak, but he could hear the pain in Dumbledore's voice.

"Her Ariana, just like Daisy. She suffered immense pain, and I, her incompetent brother, haven't been able to save her until now..."

Dumbledore looked up, Sean saw a very complex expression flash across the old man's pale blue eyes.

"Professor, I'm so sorry..."

"No, Sean, you don't need to feel sorry," Dumbledore rubbed his eyes and smiled again. "I've always believed that we need to learn to examine ourselves, to acknowledge the mistakes we've made, and then to make amends."

He straightened up, transforming once again into the great wizard who commanded respect at first glance, "Before rectifying that mistake, I must first address the most recent one."

Dumbledore looked at Sean: "Help me, son."

"Of course, Professor."

Golden flames flickered in mid-air again, Dumbledore reached his hand into the flames.

"Sean, reach out your hand."

Sean reached out his hand, somewhat puzzled. Dumbledore's teleportation ability in Hogwarts Castle clearly came from the Phoenix, but until now, he had never seen the Fawkes in its true form.

You should know that he had been to the Headmaster's Office many times, and the Perch there were always empty.

His hand went into the golden flames, and Sean's eyes widened as he instinctively tried to pull his hand out.

"Sean, don't worry," Dumbledore said softly from the side.

"Professor?"

"That's a long story. I might tell you it when Daisy is able to attend school normally," Dumbledore smiled.

Sean fell silent, glancing at the golden-red flames, his breathing quickening slightly.

Just now, what he grasped was not Phoenix Tail Feather, but a warm and soft hand!

A warm feeling enveloped Sean, flames burned, and he and Dumbledore vanished from their spot in an instant.

They teleported outside the school, Dumbledore held out a hand. "Sean, you don't seem to have been Apparition before?"

"Yes, Professor." Sean was still looking around, trying to figure out who had teleported him and Dumbledore outside the school.

Dumbledore smiled and said, "Then you'd better hold on tight to me, it's not a pleasant feeling—I almost threw up the first time."

Finding no trace of fire, Sean quickly grabbed Dumbledore's right hand.

Then, the surroundings suddenly turned pitch black. It was as if he had been squeezed into a ball by Giant, with an immense feeling of pressure coming from all directions. It even felt as if his eyeballs were trying to drill into his body.

This is much more troublesome than having Portkey...

When he opened his slightly teary eyes, he realized that he was standing in front of a building.

It was a tall, classical villa, built against the mountain, which looked gloomy and dilapidated under the moonlight.

"We can't stay at St. Mungo's's. We can't take the lives of other patients lightly. This is the inheritance of one of Sirius's uncles, which he generously contributed," Dumbledore explained, then led Sean toward the villa.

He picked up the worn door knocker and knocked twice, and someone immediately came to open the door.

"Professor," Sirius opened the door, his expression serious, "Has he arrived?"

Dumbledore stepped aside, revealing Sean behind him.

"Sean, thank you so much." Sirius shook Sean's hand firmly.

"Oh, Harry is my friend, please don't be so polite." Sean returned his smile.

As we followed Sirius into the house, we found that quite a few people were already standing in the living room.

James Potter, whom I had met once before, was standing by the campfire with a serious expression. Beside him, a short, stout middle-aged man was talking to him.

The living room table was being used as a potion-making station. Lily Potter was busy in front of a Cauldron, while a round-faced couple watched the Potions and talked to each other.

Sean recognized them immediately; the two looked remarkably like Neville, so they must be the Longbottoms.

Beside the campfire, a man with a prosthetic leg was drinking. His face was covered in scars, one normal black eye was small and bright, and the other prosthetic eye was like a coin, with the blue eyeball in the middle rolling back and forth.

It should be Mad-Eye Moody.

As soon as the group entered, Moody's prosthetic eye moved, and he and the others stood up.

"Professor, you've arrived." James shook hands with Dumbledore, stepping past the crowd, and then solemnly said to Sean, "Sean, thank you very much."

Lily, who had come from in front of the Cauldron, took her husband's arm. Her face looked very pale, and her lips were dry and chapped.

"Sean, thank you..."
