Does Snape Have Something to Give Too?
Had he ruined his own medicine? Sean frowned.
That shouldn't be the case. Although the aura and color are somewhat different from what Snape described, they shouldn't be so badly affected by staying up late, right?
Sean was very confident about the written test.
Snape said coldly, "I reminded you in class that when making the Swelling Solution, you must turn off the heat three times, each time for more than a minute! And you, Wallerup, given that the initial steps were not perfect, the third time you should have turned off the heat for only one minute."
Sean's expression froze. No one had told him that if the steps weren't perfect, the third time he had to turn off the heat should be extended.
Seeing his expression, Snape scoffed dismissively. "If the school hadn't kept telling me to lower my standards—you would never have gotten an O from me."
Huh? Sean's expression suddenly turned strange.
An O is also considered excellent, representing the highest standard in the assessment. Sean expected to achieve an E, exceeding expectations, which would constitute a complete success.
Snape actually gave me an O, someone who gets points deducted every day in Potions?!
Wow... Daisy's magic is amazing...
He understood the origin of O.
Snape said coldly, "Wallerup, you're lucky, but don't think that a merciful Omega can make you complacent."
"I understand, Professor. I will study even harder in the future," Sean replied quickly, looking up.
Snape slowly stood up from behind his desk and walked up to Sean, his face cold.
"Smack!" He slammed a black notebook hard against Sean's chest.
"Professor?" Sean didn't react for a moment.
Snape's nasolabial folds twitched, and he said with a mixture of disgust and reluctance, "Take it—"
Sean flipped through it with a puzzled look, and then was surprised to find that it was actually a class notebook!
It contains various tips and tricks for brewing Potions, as well as more detailed explanations of various Potions, even more detailed than textbooks!
This... this is Snape's private notebook?
Sean looked at the giant bat opposite him in disbelief.
Snape was clearly very displeased with his expression. "Wallerup, are you trying to tell me that you can't even read?"
"Of course not, are these your notes, Professor?"
Snape said nonchalantly, "Now it's yours."
Sean's eyes lit up; this was good stuff!
"Don't look so naive, Wallerup," Snape said dismissively. "For some fools who can't grasp the wonders of Potions, this is the only way we can teach them—a boring and rigid method."
He added, to himself, "That's something I scribbled down years ago; it's completely useless now. But for you, maybe you can find some knowledge in it to fill your pathetic brain capacity."
Completely useless? Sean had just glanced at the system panel.
Snape's Potions Notebook (Gold).
Just like Professor McGonagall's notebook, it's gold!
Snape was displeased with Sean's surprised expression. He swung his arms forcefully, putting his hands behind his back, and his long black robes whistled through the air.
"Um, is this for me, Professor?" Sean asked cautiously.
"It's not a gift, it's—a handout," Snape corrected the error in his sentence.
"Was there anything after that? Like during the second-year final exams, since I don't really have much talent..."
"Fool!" Snape roared. "If, with this notebook, you still can't brew Potions to my satisfaction in your second year, then you can shove your own head into the Cauldron!"
"I understand, Professor," Sean replied quickly, but a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips. He glanced at the furious Snape and added, "Professor, Davy—no, a friend's sister is doing well. She ate quite a bit this morning..."
Sean almost thought he was hallucinating. Did Snape just look relieved?
However, Snape roared again, "I'm not your or your friend's babysitter, I don't care about that! Now—get out of my office!"
"Okay, Professor~" Sean grabbed his notebook and quickly rolled out.
After Sean left, Snape stood there for a long time until the wound on his arm began to ache, then he frowned and walked to the door.
He pushed the wooden door hard, and as if to make sure, Snape took out his wand and cast a spell to make sure the door wouldn't be pushed open before sitting back down at his desk.
Snape no longer sat upright; he seemed to relax completely and leaned back in his chair.
"Phew..." He let out a long breath.
After a while, Snape frowned again. He looked at the hardwood chair behind him, thought for a moment, and then took out a piece of parchment and began to write.
Order list: Velvet upholstered chair.
Sean was in high spirits when he returned to the Common Room. He wanted to share his joy with someone, but he couldn't find Hermione anywhere.
He probably went to the library again... Sean returned to his dorm, changed his clothes, and lay down on his bed.
"A very fruitful haul... "Sean grinned.
Not to mention the many versatile Potions, the special Phoenix Feather that Dumbledore gave him was a real treasure, although he was somewhat puzzled by his experience of reaching into the flames and grabbing a human hand instead.
Sean was certain it was a human hand, yet the other party possessed the abilities of Phoenix ...
Could that be someone whose form the Maledictus is Phoenix? That doesn't seem right...
Moreover, Sean hadn't forgotten that Dumbledore had mentioned his sister Ariana, Dumbledore that day, "We still haven't been able to save her."
Another way to understand this is: Ariana is not dead, but is in some kind of predicament.
No wonder Dumbledore was able to reconcile with Grindelwald. If Ariana were dead, Dumbledore would never have had any dealings with Grindelwald again.
However, Sean couldn't know the details of Ariana's predicament, but he always felt it was related to the Phoenix, and perhaps, that hand was...
Upon closer reflection, he realized he had never actually seen Fawkes.
Besides the Phoenix Feather that the system displayed as being of gold quality, the other item was Snape's Potions Notebook.
This was equally significant for Sean. Only those who have experienced it know how cautious he was in front of the Cauldron, despite his Potions talent being only 2.
Snape's notes will be of great help to him in his future studies.
Now, Sean even felt that Snape's gloomy face had become kind.
If you could get a notebook for getting a few scoldings, Sean would even be willing to provide a list of insults!
