Outrageously Bold!
After the first wizard was convicted, the efficiency of the International Confederation of Wizards and the Wizarding United Guard increased rapidly. One after another, wizards who violated the law were brought to the forefront and then sent to prison under the weight of irrefutable evidence.
Some were sent to the Soul-Devouring Tower in France, others to Azkaban in England; the most secure prisons in various countries welcomed a new group of guests.
In this massive crackdown on organized crime, the reputation of the Wizarding United Guard was at its peak. In the eyes of ordinary wizards, the Guard Corps was a more reliable organization than the Auror Command Office of the Ministry of Magic.
Moreover, even the wizard politicians who initially supported the establishment of the Wizarding United Guard were praised, and the wizards serving in the Wizarding United Guard's offices in various countries were also welcomed.
In such an atmosphere, people have even begun to wonder who the next wizard to be tried will be.
A member of Pure-blood families? A renowned wizard and witch? A once powerful official?
However, most people did not expect that those once glamorous and powerful figures were merely a corner of the dark curtain about to be lifted, and the real flames had begun to burn...
James Potter, the head of the Wizarding United Guard British Office, has recently been a hot topic, with some even believing he is capable of running for Minister for Magic in a decade or so.
However, James and his team members looked serious in the office at that moment.
"... Our primary focus will be on self-preservation. We are not key members in this joint operation; our role is support. Do you all understand?"
"Yes!"
After letting his teammates go down to prepare, James went to his personal office, opened the briefcase he had brought, and took out a small crystal bottle.
The crystal bottle contained a golden liquid, and even when James forcefully pulled out the cork, the liquid inside did not splash or shake at all.
He raised the small crystal bottle to his lips, took a sip, and then handed it to Sirius behind him.
"It's almost time. The production of Felix Felicis is too low. This is a little bit left over from the gift I gave to Sean last time. Drink it quickly."
Sirius finished the rest of the Felix Felicis, his brow twitching slightly. "Oh, this wonderful feeling. The last time I drank Felix Felicis was more than a decade ago, but I remember it vividly— Lily's Potions- making skills are getting better and better. This time, there's no harshness in the mouth."
"Of course, Lily is Potion Master," James praised his beloved wife, then stretched his limbs, "But Felix Felicis isn't a cure-all, so don't be the first to rush in when the time comes."
Sirius leaned against the wall in a nonchalant manner, shrugging. "Normally, I would laugh at you for being a coward—but this time I have to admit it."
Even after drinking Felix Felicis, James's brow remained furrowed. "It's not just that he's terrifying; I've always felt there's something wrong with this."
"Didn't Dumbledore say anything to you?"
"No," James shook his head. "I asked Mr. Scamander for some information, and it seems to be true—however, Mr. Scamander also told me that my life is the most important thing in this operation."
Sirius scratched his long hair in a flustered manner. "It's true, but it should have been resolved back then, right? Besides, I heard that Dumbledore vouched for him back then."
"Who knows," James waved his hand. "This is a joint operation order from headquarters, and Dumbledore hasn't given me any clear information... Oh well, let's just do our job and keep an eye on our men so they don't lose their lives— Dumbledore should have a solution."
Sirius pursed his lips, looking rather unhappy. "If it were a school match, I'd be happy to blow their heads off—but now I feel like there's some conspiracy involved."
"Anyone with a keen eye can see that... the Lestrange Family hasn't been sentenced yet, and I suspect they're negotiating."
"I suddenly regret accepting your invitation..."
"I regret it too. I shouldn't have taken on this role in the first place... Damn it, Daisy sent a letter home last night while we were on a mission, and I didn't even read it right away?!"
"Let's go see it together after work today."
"Get lost, that's my daughter. You can only look at her after I've finished reading."
"Dude, you're getting more and more stingy..."
"Thank you for the compliment."
At the French Ministry of Magic office of the Wizarding United Guard, a stern-faced black wizard returned to his office after giving instructions to his team members. Inside, a slightly overweight middle-aged man was waiting for him.
The black wizard glanced at the other man. "Old Man Aiken, you shouldn't have come. The plan has reached a critical stage, and I don't want any accidents to happen."
Old Man Aiken stroked the bare skin where his hand was missing, his face grave. "You're worrying too much. And those foolish Mudblood don't know, but don't the smart ones know? Our partnership is already out in the open."
"Speak quickly if you need anything. The Portkey have already been distributed, and we need to leave immediately."
Old Man Aiken narrowed his eyes, a glint of fear and resentment flashing within them.
"After it's all done, I want to meet him."
The black wizard glanced at his bare left wrist. "Don't dream, Old Man Aiken, we're not going to give him any chance to cast a spell."
Old Man Aiken's chest heaved violently twice. "Then tell me, what should I do with my hands?!"
"Don't worry, someone will give you a satisfactory answer."
In the headquarters of the Wizarding United Guard, in the hall with its silver-gray walls, wizards in uniforms stood in a densely packed line.
The head of the Guard Corps, Cyril Marshall, looked serious and said loudly, "This mission will be the most challenging since the founding of our Wizarding United Guard, and it will be the greatest test you have ever faced!"
She paused, glancing at the crowd below the stage. "But this is the original intention behind the formation of our Guard Corps —to bring true equality to the Wizarding World! Those who hope to escape the sanctions of wizarding law, those who use their abilities and power to do evil, we want them to know that justice may be absent, but it will never be late!"
"Yes!" the team members roared in unison.
"Now, let's go!"
As the Guard Corps disappeared one by one, pulling the Portkey, Marshall repeatedly reminded his captains of the precautions for this operation.
"Remember, you must stay in the main hall!"
One of the team leaders hesitated slightly. "Ms. Marshall, what about all those students? What if..."
Marshall's eyes remained unwavering. "Foolish! Our advantage isn't numbers, it's public opinion! We need to let the students see all this, and then tell their parents. And do you even know who he is?! If this were outdoors, he would attack us without hesitation before you could even say anything. Those students aren't the ones we need to protect; they're the ones protecting us, understand?!"
"But what if he really goes crazy and acts recklessly..."
"No," Marshall's eyes deepened, "He is not that kind of person. In his eyes, the life of a wizard is above all else, and those unbloomed flowers are more important."
"That's just who he is, and he'll never change," she said forcefully.
"Merlin's beard, Professor McGonagall actually agreed to let you start self-studying fifth-year material..." Hermione muttered to herself as she held several thick books in the stone corridor of Newmontgard Castle.
Sean glanced amusedly at the parchment tightly tucked between the girl's two books. "Didn't she also agree to let you study the third-grade material on your own?"
At this point, Hermione lowered her head dejectedly. "Sean, why didn't you say so sooner... Good heavens, I had already finished the second-year curriculum in the first semester."
Sean shrugged. "You didn't ask me, and besides, you and Daisy Animagus are at a crucial moment..."
"Shh!" Hermione quickly covered his mouth, and only released her hand after looking around and making sure no one was paying attention to their conversation.
The soft touch of the girl's skin disappeared, Sean raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry, I've been watching the whole time."
"Then be careful!" Hermione glared at him, then lowered her voice even further. "Animagus is illegal!"
Daisy, who had been standing beside the two of them, interjected, "To be precise, Hermione, it's illegal not to report it to the Animagus —so you tacitly agreed?"
Hermione turned around and glared at Daisy again. "Yeah, my two best friends are Animagus Fire Dragon an illegal Animagus, what can I do?!"
"No, it's because that day I said if I turned into a cute little animal, I'd let Sean carry me to fly up to the sky and see it, and you were tempted too!" Daisy hit the nail on the head.
"I... I... Hmph, maybe I'll turn into a flying animal too?"
"Then you can give me a ride then?!" Daisy beamed, her beautiful green eyes forming lovely crescent moons.
"No way! You've been eating so much lately, you'll turn into a pig!"
"What's wrong with pigs? They can eat and sleep well..."
"If you keep eating like this, you'll turn into a pig in the real world!" Hermione said, hands on her hips, kicking Daisy.
Daisy has indeed been eating a lot more in the last six months. Sean and Hermione combined don't eat as much as she does, but the girl's waist is still without an ounce of fat, and her figure and posture remain slender.
Sean guessed this was a side effect of the Blood Curse; Daisy had lost too much energy back then, and now was the time to replenish it.
He smiled and walked to the front, leading the two into the Great Hall: "It's okay to eat more, Daisy is still growing."
"It's fine to eat other things," Hermione's tone softened a little, but she didn't loosen her grip on Daisy's hand at all. "But you have to give up those desserts! I don't object to them getting energy, but if you keep eating like this, you'll lose all your teeth."
"But my mom knows how to make dental filling solution. Just hold it in your mouth for a while and it'll be fine..."
"The natural is better than the artificial. Listen to me, there's a limit today, only two Pudding."
"All right..."
Amidst the noise, the group sat down at the long table. Sean glanced to the side and saw Grindelwald sitting at the head of the teacher's table, smiling and talking to the person next to him.
Grindelwald would usually come to the Great Hall for dinners two or three times a week, but he never gave any speeches or went into the Great Hall to ask about a student's studies, so people would glance at the principal a few times, but not to the point of being reserved.
After the crisp sound of a spoon tapping a wine glass, a delicious dinner appeared on the long table.
Daisy took the lead and grabbed several portions of food, then quietly started eating.
Sean smiled and handed him a glass of Pumpkin Juice: "Eat slowly, no rush."
"Waaah!"
After the main meal was finished, the leftovers were all gone, replaced by a dazzling array of desserts. Daisy's eyes lit up as she took several pieces, but Hermione immediately reached out her hand.
"Hmm?" Hermione had always acted like an older sister in front of Daisy, but when she glared at Daisy, Daisy could only pout and hand back the extra portions she had taken.
Sean nudged Daisy with his shoe. The Little White Flower, her mouth full of Pudding, turned her head in confusion. Then she saw Sean secretly pull open the large pocket of his robe, inside which were two portions of white chocolate Pudding preserved with Preservation Charm.
"Huh?!" Daisy's eyes widened in excitement.
"Shh... I'll give it to you secretly when we get back..."
"Um!"
Hermione looked at her suspiciously. "What are you two talking about?"
"Oh, it's nothing, it's nothing. I was just saying the Pudding was delicious today. Look, Mr. Grindelwald got one too," Sean said calmly.
Hermione turned her head, and sure enough, Grindelwald also took a Pudding and placed it in front of him.
Silky white chocolate poured over plump, soft Pudding —just one look is enough to make you want to scoop it up with a spoon, savoring Pudding deliciousness while watching Pudding jiggle smoothly. What a wonderful thing that would be!
However, before Grindelwald could even put the spoon down, the Pudding began to tremble slightly.
"Boom, boom, boom..." The sound of a heavy wooden door being pushed open came from outside the Great Hall.
After a commotion, the Great Hall doors were opened.
To everyone's astonishment, a dense crowd of wizards in uniform surged in, led by a stern-faced middle-aged witch, beside whom lay a person who had fainted.
That was Volto Bata, the guard of Newmontgard, who was clearly under the influence of many Stunning Spell.
And Sean was also familiar with that woman; she was Cyril Marshall, the temporary head of the Wizarding United Guard.
Daisy looked towards the back of the line and murmured, "Daddy..."
The Wizarding United Guard has been mobilized...
A sense of absurdity rose in Sean's heart: he had thought about this happening, but he hadn't expected the other party to be so audacious and to come so quickly!
He quickly turned his head to look at the teacher's desk.
At the head of the table, Grindelwald picked up a golden spoon and scooped up a spoonful of Pudding. He squinted his eyes as if savoring the wonderful texture and subtle aroma between his lips and teeth.
"How wonderful..." he smiled with satisfaction.
