Umbridge the 'Fearless'
"Sean, you're flawless—" Harry laughed, patting Sean on the shoulder.
"I almost burst out laughing! Good heavens, Fred didn't even see Umbridge's expression, what a pity!" Ron exclaimed, gesturing wildly.
With their arms around his shoulders, Sean casually shrugged. "All I can say is that the questions she asked were incredibly low-level."
After the Great Hall incident in the auditorium last night, Umbridge stormed out in anger. According to Peeves, her office was filled with the sounds of things being smashed all night.
Immediately after that, a new Ministry of Magic decree was sent to Hogwarts this morning.
The regulations clearly state that Hogwarts students must strictly abide by all rules while on campus, including but not limited to maintaining necessary etiquette in daily life and not gathering to discuss things in the school corridors.
At the same time, the regulations also emphasized the importance of Umbridge's Senior Undersecretary status.
Regardless of age, young wizards, great wizards, and old wizards must strictly abide by the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Magic.
However, despite the strict rules, the Hogwarts students' united front last night had an effect that Sean had not anticipated.
The Four Houses finally showed a high degree of unity. What used to be normal horseplay might have been considered a violation of the rules. However, the mischievous and rebellious students always had students from other colleges to cover for them.
In the castle, in the corridors, the sound of ' Umbridge's ' arrival can be heard from time to time—this morning, a Slytherin student even helped a group of lion cubs escape punishment.
Umbridge spent the entire morning wandering around the castle, but in the end, he couldn't find a single student who had broken the rules.
The Senior Undersecretary, who couldn't even maintain a fake smile, turned his attention to the classroom.
As the instigator of last night's events, Umbridge immediately set her sights on the Transfiguration classroom where Sean was.
The pink-skinned toad strutted around with a notebook, pretending to check the students' knowledge level.
It can only be said that she has some brains. If you were to examine Professor McGonagall's teaching level as a master of Transfiguration, she would probably be kicked out in less than two minutes—the kind of situation where even the Ministry of Magic couldn't speak up for her.
Sean naturally became Umbridge's target. Whenever Professor McGonagall habitually asked Sean to demonstrate, Umbridge would swarm over like a toad that had spotted a mosquito, staring intently at Sean with her bulging eyes.
If Sean's wand moves even a little slower, she'll start pretending to jot down a few notes, accompanied by a disappointed sigh and a regretful shake of her head.
That's all.
With Sean's current level of Transfiguration, even Dumbledore couldn't find fault with his handling of third-year material.
Later, Umbridge even got a little impatient. She kept asking Sean loud questions while he was casting spells, trying to influence Sean state.
like water off a duck's back.
Somewhat annoyed, Sean deliberately revealed a flaw: while turning the guinea fowl into a hedgehog, he intentionally transformed it into a porcupine first.
Umbridge's eyes lit up immediately, even though turning into a porcupine was much more difficult than turning into a hedgehog.
She bluntly stated that Sean's Transfiguration were subpar, and that students with such poor grades should be confined after school.
Then Sean picked up the "porcupine" right in front of her.
It was a hedgehog magnified several times! Sean had even given the hedgehog's quills a little special treatment, making it look more like a porcupine, but Umbridge, who was so eager to find a flaw in Sean's design, didn't notice at all!
Sean even offered some 'understanding' comfort to the other person—everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and it's normal for your eyesight to be poor at your age; none of us will laugh at you!
Finally, Professor McGonagall's resounding "Ravenclaw, add twenty points!" ignited a furious reaction from Umbridge.
She stormed out before the class was over, her short legs carrying her.
Just like Ron said, after the Transfiguration, the students were all laughing and talking about Umbridge's embarrassing situation, and it was a real shame that Fred didn't get to see it.
The group chatted and laughed as they walked toward the Great Hall on the first floor. As they passed the intersection on the basement level, they heard a commotion coming from below.
Neville looked in that direction with considerable surprise. "The underground classroom only has Potions, right? Would anyone dare to make noise in the underground classroom?"
Harry, however, looked on with schadenfreude. "Umbridge must have gone after that big bat again, hahaha."
Sean was also curious. It wasn't strange that Umbridge went to the Potions Classroom, but she probably wouldn't dare to mess with someone who looked intimidating, right? And given Snape's personality, Umbridge causing trouble for students wouldn't be within his anger range, unless she dared to question his Potions skills.
Hermione had been following behind reading a book, glanced to the side and frowned. "That must have been the second-year Potions."
Second grade... Sean raised an eyebrow.
He probably knew why the argument had broken out in the underground classroom.
The group headed towards the underground classroom, and sure enough, as soon as they passed through the gloomy corridor, a large group of students had already gathered at the classroom door.
Umbridge and Snape are facing off in the crowd.
"Professor Snape, I must remind you that all my actions were carried out under the direction of the Ministry of Magic!" Umbridge's voice was high-pitched and thin, but it carried a hint of guilt.
Sean looked across from Umbridge and gasped in shock.
Snape exuded an extremely cold aura. The gloom on his face was like ink that could not be dissolved. His long, hooked nose and terrifying eyes made him look like a fierce eagle with only its prey in its eyes.
Even Harry gasped in surprise, and Ron took a half step back, muttering, "What on earth did Umbridge do... I bet Ann, even if Sean and Harry knocked over twenty Cauldron in front of Snape, he wouldn't be this scary."
Snape stared directly at Umbridge, then slowly took a step forward.
This move startled Umbridge so much that she retreated to the corner, even pulling out her wand and trembling as she cried out, "What are you doing, Severus Snape!"
Snape ignored her wand, simply raising his chin slightly to look down at her, then said in an extremely disdainful tone, "Only I can reprimand my students. You—daring to reprimand my students in my class and overstep my authority to confine them?"
"Are you questioning my competence, Senior Undersecretary —Madam—" Snape drawled, causing all the students present to instinctively shudder.
Ron looked horrified. "Is Snape really that protective of his own?"
Sean waved to the Little White Flower running towards them. "She's probably pretty protective of her own... right?"
He would bet that if it were Harry, himself, or Ron Neville who were being harassed by Umbridge, as long as it didn't interfere with Snape's class, the old Batman would lose if he even raised an eyelid.
Daisy ran over to the group, took Hermione's arm, and caught her breath.
"Has Umbridge been giving you trouble?" Hermione asked.
Daisy nodded, then whispered to Sean and Hermione, "And then Professor Snape became absolutely terrifying..."
really...
Last night in the Great Hall, Daisy was the one who immediately stood up after me. Umbridge certainly wouldn't let the Little White Flower get away with it—however, she clearly chose the wrong course...
Umbridge, wand in hand, faced Snape, who hadn't even raised his hand, and she frantically shrank back against the wall.
The wand and the voice trembled together. "I warn you, you are merely a professor at Hogwarts! The Ministry of Magic and the School Board the authority to dismiss you! Don't think that just because you're a Potions master, you can do whatever you want! My colleague at the Ministry of Magic, James Potter, the head of the Guard Corps ' office in England, has a wife named Lily Potter who is a Potion Master. If the Ministry of Magic recommends you, you could be replaced at any time!"
Holy crap... Sean was dumbfounded.
How did you do that?
To court death in the most precise way— Sean swears he's never seen anyone more daring than Umbridge.
The scene fell silent. Snape finally lowered his head and looked calmly at Umbridge, his expression no longer gloomy, and even his eyes were no longer cold.
He looked at him like he was looking at a dead person...
Before anyone could react, Snape's hand moved with lightning speed, a red beam shooting out from the tip of his wand, and Umbridge's wand was instantly knocked away.
Umbridge screamed as she frantically held up the parchment in her hand, which contained the Ministry of Magic's ordinances.
"You!—You! I am Senior Undersecretary from the Ministry of Magic! You can't!"
Snape's wand gently parted the limp parchment, then slowly and forcefully pressed against Umbridge's throat.
"Could you repeat that again?" he asked through gritted teeth, his voice sounding as if it had been immersed in the deep sea.
"Severus!" Professor McGonagall rushed up from behind, quickly squeezing through the students and blocking Snape's wand.
Umbridge collapsed to the ground, coughing violently on the cold stone slab.
"Severus— " Professor McGonagall looked at Snape solemnly.
Snape snorted coldly through his nostrils, didn't even glance at her, and walked away.
Umbridge's eyes were filled with fear and resentment. She glared angrily at Snape's back, her lips twitching slightly, but in the end, she didn't dare to utter any harsh words.
"Wonderful..." Sean and his group exclaimed in unison.
Why did we have to mess with this giant bat?
Soon, news of Umbridge holding a wand to Snape's throat spread throughout Hogwarts. Amidst the ridicule, Snape's reputation actually improved to some extent, whether it was out of respect or fear.
However, the story doesn't end there...
At the dinner that evening, Umbridge, who had spent the entire afternoon mentally preparing herself, sat in the seat furthest from Snape.
She had only taken two bites of food when she immediately clutched her throat, her eyes bulging, and white foam began to emerge from the corners of her mouth.
