The First Event!
The way others looked at Stephanie changed instantly. Before, in their eyes, the Silver-haired Girl had an almost inhumanly exquisite appearance, was excessively petite, and had a withdrawn personality, disliking all group activities. Moreover, those who entered the school at the same time as Stephanie, such as Cedric and the Weasley twins, had more or less witnessed her alluring abilities.
Although they now knew that Mr. Ollivander was Stephanie's grandfather, this praise still surprised them—after all, Mr. Ollivander was very proud of his wands.
Just now, when he was examining Krum's wand, which was made by Gregorovitch, although he didn't show it much, everyone present could feel his... regret and disappointment.
The feeling is that if he were to make it, the wand would be even better.
Now, Ollivander is praising his granddaughter so highly. While there may be an added element of family affection, everyone else hasn't forgotten one thing— Stephanie has been using this wand since first grade.
In other words, she created her own wand before she even officially enrolled at Hogwarts, and even used techniques that other famous wand makers did not employ.
This talent is astonishing. Those with quick minds have already realized that if their wands can be further modified and enhanced in the future, they will probably have no choice but to approach Miss Ollivander, who seems a bit difficult to deal with.
Stephanie's wand-making talent is so good; it seems that when they first met, she really intended to create a wand-making club.
Wouldn't it be more useful to give her my skill...? Sean scratched his head awkwardly.
Stephanie didn't show any joy at her grandfather's praise; she simply nodded slightly and then stepped back.
Finally, it was Sean's turn. Trusting Stephanie, Sean handed over his wand directly. Or rather, he didn't care if she noticed that his wand wasn't the original one; it was just that he hadn't registered it with the Ministry of Magic. As long as he made sure the wand was okay, that was fine.
Taking the wand from Sean, Mr. Ollivander held it up and examined it closely, turning it over and over in front of him.
Immediately afterwards, only Sean, who was closest to him, saw a very obvious look of shock in the other person's eyes.
Mr. Ollivander's withered hand stroked the wand anxiously, and finally returned it to Sean with great reluctance.
"Elm, thirteen inches, with Dragon Heartstring core. When you bought it from me, this was my latest creation—" Ollivander remarked. "Elm Wand are more suited to elegant, magically skilled, and inherently noble owners. In my experience, elm is the least prone to malfunctions among all wand woods. Wands made from this wood are least likely to produce foolish mistakes and can cast the most elegant spells. I think Mr. Wallop, you should understand this well..."
It seems Mr. Ollivander received his granddaughter's signal and is keeping it a secret from Sean.
"Yes, it is, but not very deep. I've only used my wand for two years..." Sean replied politely. "Yes, sir, it's a very good wand."
"However, Mr. Wallop, I must mention something—" Ollivander gave a meaningful look, "Wands should be well maintained."
"Oh, of course, I haven't been taking good care of it lately, but I will later," Sean replied somewhat awkwardly.
Although Mr. Ollivander covered for me, he didn't seem too happy about me losing my wand...
I don't know why Grindelwald insisted on exchanging my wand...
After the wand tests were completed, Mr. Bagman had everyone gather around for a photo. Sean stood behind Daisy and Stephanie, looking like their older brother (Stephanie looked a bit like Daisy's sister), while the Weasley brothers had their arms around his shoulders with big smiles. Cedric, the tallest of the group, stood at the back, giving a thumbs-up with a bright smile.
The Champion from the other schools stood together in a chaotic mess, and when Dumbledore stepped into the center, a huge cloud of smoke and flashes of light enveloped them all.
"This thing is making way too much noise..."
The group photo wasn't the end of it; everyone was also taken to have numerous individual photos taken. Several Durmstrang almost got into a conflict with the photographer because they felt he was standing too close to them.
When everything was over, Sean, Daisy, Stephanie went downstairs to eat. When they reached a secluded corner, Stephanie whispered, "Grandfather secretly told me that he wanted me to ask him something—of course, it's just some academic questions..."
Here it comes... Sean shrugged. "What?"
"How exactly do Unicorn Hair and Phoenix Feather get mixed together?" Stephanie asked, her face showing obvious confusion. "Grandfather couldn't figure it out, he was very curious—as was I."
"Hmm... how should I put it?" Sean was slightly embarrassed by the direct question right off the bat.
Although he gained a keen eye for wand wood and core materials when he activated the Wandmaker's Glory, the ability to mix two types of cores was not his own skill...
Seeing Sean's troubled expression, Stephanie immediately said, "I understand."
Sean chuckled awkwardly. If he knew how, he wouldn't mind teaching his friends, but the problem was he really didn't...
Stephanie, seeing his expression, thought Sean had misunderstood her meaning, and added, "I know you're not being cowardly, and I didn't mean to mock you at all. I asked the question because of my grandfather's instructions and my own curiosity, and I don't need an answer."
"I know, but I really can't explain the principle clearly," Sean said sincerely.
"Yes, that's normal. There are too many aspects of magic that we can't explain." Stephanie was incredibly understanding at this moment.
The Little White Flower who had been observing the two of them suddenly nudged Sean: "Sean, can you modify wands?"
"Um, I know a little, but not much."
"Then could you also modify my and Hermione's wands?"
Sean was both amused and exasperated. "My success rate is very low. What if I break your wands?"
"Then let's wait until your success rate is high!" Little White Flower said with a smile.
"That's no problem." This was Sean's idea all along; once he became more proficient, he would help his friends modify and enhance their wands.
Stephanie chimed in, "I can help. The wand coating can also enhance the wand's power."
"Okay, okay, hey Stephanie, can I see your wand? It's really beautiful..."
"Of course, take it." Stephanie readily handed over the wand.
"Wow, it's so beautiful... Hey, what's the purpose of this coating?"
"It has several benefits..."
Seeing the two chatting happily, Sean scratched his head in confusion.
When did those two become so close...?
Time flies, and soon it was November 14th.
Meanwhile, Rita Skeeter's article on the Four-School Tournament was published in the Daily Prophet, which caused some trouble for Sean —admittedly, intimidated by Sean's power, Rita Skeeter naturally wouldn't dare to tamper with the report, but his excessive flattery...
On that day, the cover of the Daily Prophet did not feature the group photo, but rather a solo picture of Sean.
The interview with Sean alone took up half of the entire report, and included at least five solo photos—and keep in mind, there were fifteen Champion in total...
The students who received the newspaper looked at Sean with a surprised and slightly strange expression, which troubled him quite a bit—especially after those second and third-graders came up with a badge.
The badge is adorned with blue and bronze, representing Ravenclaw, and features a large portrait of Sean at the center, with the words: Sean Wallerup – Hogwarts' finest Champion!
With a simple press, the badge will rotate Transfiguration an image of Sean holding a trophy.
Anyway, when that bunch of second and third graders came over showing off their badges, Sean wanted to double their Transfiguration homework.
So many of my own faces, it's so shameful...
But it was unrealistic to expect these kids who idolized him to change, so Sean decided to go all in and threw a bunch of Galleon at them.
The next day, the badges of all the Hogwarts Champion made their dazzling debut.
Let's all go together... that's what Sean was thinking.
So, under Sean's deliberate guidance, soon most of the Hogwarts students were wearing... six badges on their chests.
Apart from the Weasley brothers enjoying themselves, everyone else expressed a degree of shame—which made Sean feel much better.
However, to Sean's surprise, the details of the first challenge were not revealed until the day of the competition, indicating that the secrecy measures were very effective.
On the day of the competition, after lunch, the professors sent all the students to the paddock, leaving only the Champion from each school behind.
Next, the professors from each school led their respective teams toward the competition venue.
Professor McGonagall led Cedric's team, while Professor Flitwick naturally led Sean's team of three Ravenclaw.
Led by their Charms Class professor, they walked up the steps, across the cobblestone path, and then circled around the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
"Three Ravenclaw, unimaginable..." Professor Flitwick murmured excitedly to himself the whole way.
However, he didn't seem too at ease with Sean and the other two. As they approached their destination, Professor Flitwick turned around and solemnly instructed them, "Listen, children, if there is any danger, your safety is the first priority. No matter what the outcome, you will always be the pride of me Ravenclaw House!"
"Of course, Professor."
Sean held Daisy's hand the whole time. The Little White Flower was so nervous that she almost fainted as the competition day approached, and she was still dizzy while walking just now.
When they entered the huge tent, the other Champion teams were already sitting there, and they didn't look much better.
Krum stood there silently, his brow furrowed, while Reinhardt Nott and Leon Schneider both showed obvious signs of anxiety. Phoebe and her teammates sat together, taking deep breaths.
Even the Weasley twins, who were usually laughing and joking, couldn't laugh anymore; they each grabbed Cedric's shoulder.
"Cedric, don't be nervous."
"Cedric, don't be afraid."
"We will protect you!" the two said in unison.
After joking around together, Cedric, with a wry smile, found that he wasn't so nervous anymore.
Sean grabbed Daisy's hand and led her to a corner, then habitually patted the Little White Flower's head.
"Sean, I'm in fourth grade already..." Sickle protested pitifully.
Looking into her eyes, Sean smiled gently, "Yes, you're in fourth grade now. You've escaped the worst nightmares, you have the best friends, you've learned so much powerful magic, oh, and there's that Dragon Patronus that even the professors marveled at— Daisy. Look at me, and from the bottom of my heart, I believe you are one of the most outstanding girls I've ever met."
Daisy stared blankly at Sean, her face gradually warming up.
Sean pulled Stephanie over as well. "Besides, we're all here."
Looking at Sean and Stephanie's concerned and trusting expressions, Little White Flower took a deep breath and nodded heavily.
"I can do it!"
"Of course—"
As they were talking, a corner of the tent was lifted.
Hermione's here?
Sean leaned closer, he heard a sinister voice.
"Go, you guys, go, Miss Potter."
It was Snape.
Little White Flower gasped softly, then quickly looked up. After realizing no one was paying attention to her, she bent down and saw Snape outside the tent.
"Professor, you're here!" Daisy exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, yes..." Snape swallowed.
All the words I had prepared to say came out, and in the end, they all came out as. "Go for it, Daisy, be careful."
"I will, Professor!"
Snape let out a deep breath. "Wallerup, take good care of her."
Sean nodded seriously. "I promise, Professor."
Snape paused for a moment. "... Very good."
Then, he left the tent.
Then Hermione sneaked in. "Oh my god, I just ran into Snape... oh, Daisy..."
The two girls bumped into each other, and after looking at each other, Hermione couldn't hold back any longer and hugged Daisy tightly.
"Daisy ..."
"Hermione..."
After the two embraced for a while, Hermione released Daisy and looked at Stephanie.
"... Stephanie, you must also be careful." For the first time, she took the other person's hand.
Stephanie was slightly surprised. She instinctively wanted to shrink back, but she held back and nodded seriously. "I will."
"Sean ..." Hermione looked over.
"How about a hug?" Sean laughed.
"Hmm..." Hermione hesitated for a moment, but finally hugged him tightly—she hugged him so tightly that it was as if she wanted to meld herself into Sean's body.
There were no extra words, only a tight hug.
"I trust you..."
Mr. Bagman interrupted the girl's whispers.
"Alright—alright, come here, my Champion— " He was wearing an old Wimbourne Wasps jersey and looked disheveled. "I have to tell you about the first event of the competition. Oh ho ho, the audience can't wait."
He held up a purple cloth bag in his left hand and picked up five Magical Ropes of different colors in his right hand.
I recommend a new book. Just look at the cover and title, and you'll know how outrageous it is. Read it now!
