Chapter 504
"Why is it thundering?" The students who were whispering in the towering stands looked up in surprise.
The once cloudless sky suddenly became covered with a thick layer of gray fog. Dark thunderclouds appeared out of nowhere, lightning flashed among the clouds, and fine rain began to fall.
The rare good weather in the Scottish Highlands changed in an instant.
While everyone else was confused, the two groups facing off turned their attention to Sean.
Oppugno... This doesn't seem like a weather-changing curse...
Reinhardt Nott, who had been spouting nonsense and constantly mocking Sean, suddenly changed his gaze towards Sean.
Unlike other wizards, he possessed an exceptionally keen instinct for danger, a talent he had possessed since childhood. And right in front of him, Wallerup posed a significant threat!
He had never experienced this feeling even from his own principal, Professor Karkaroff.
Reinhardt's expression involuntarily turned serious—what kind of spell had this guy used...?
Sean slowly waved his wand. "A fool like you will never understand the difficulty of creating a spell, especially deriving a completely different new spell from an existing one."
The yellow bird he had summoned had long since disappeared, and only the thunder in the sky grew ever more deafening.
"The Avis isn't a very useful introductory Summoning Charm..." Sean explained as if he were giving Transfiguration to lower-grade students, "However, Hermione's 'Oppugno derived from the Avis is already a mature offensive spell, and also..."
He tugged at his collar.
"The attack power of Oppugno depends on the Avis summoned..."
Summoned creature...?
Durmstrang and his group stared wide-eyed.
Before anyone knew it, several enormous flying monsters had appeared directly above the arena. They were circling freely, and with their movements, the thunder and rain grew increasingly intense.
They were several eagle-like creatures covered in golden feathers, with a pair of huge wings, two pairs of smaller wings, and two lion-tail-like tail feathers. They let out angry screechs, and lightning and thunder bounced on their feathers.
Most of the people present were middle and upper grade students, who immediately recognized the creatures.
"Thunderbird?!" a Durmstrang student exclaimed. "Impossible! How could Thunderbird be in England!"
This large bird, Magical Creatures native to North America, could not possibly appear in the England except through smuggling, and it is not a low-risk Magical Creatures that is permitted to be kept as a pet.
Magical Creatures of the xxxx danger level could easily hunt down a team of adult wizards, and yet, above the Quidditch Pitch, four Thunderbird had appeared!
Reinhardt's pupils contracted sharply as his sense of danger frantically reminded him—these four Thunderbird were after him!
Where did this Thunderbird come from...?
"The Oppugno derived from Avis can already be considered a mature attack spell..."
"The attack power of Oppugno depends on the Avis summoned..."
Reinhardt turned sharply to look at Sean, his eyes filled with disbelief.
Sean casually waved his wand. "I told you, you'll pay for insulting my friend—unfortunately, I can only summon a few birds, not as skillfully as Hermione..."
"But that should be enough?" Sean pointed his wand at Reinhardt expressionlessly. "Oppugno!"
You call this a little bird?!
Before Reinhardt could utter a curse, a tremendous sense of threat swept down from the sky!
The four Thunderbird let out terrifying howls, spreading their enormous wings, their griffin-like tails trembling violently, and lightning flashing.
People around, especially the students in the stands, were horrified to discover that there was even static electricity in the air.
But this is nothing compared to what Reinhardt has to endure!
He felt completely locked onto by four terrifying Magical Creatures. Their magical ability to stir up storms was even more terrifying than the lightning spells used by powerful wizards. In fact, he could even sense that the storms stirred up by the four Thunderbird were specifically aimed at him!
The Thunderbird's lightning storm shouldn't be able to be freely controlled and attacked on a specific target... Just as this thought flashed through Reinhardt's mind, a bolt of lightning as thick as a stadium stand exploded!
The tiny electric current seemed to have a life of its own, coiling around Reinhardt and instantly sending a strong numbing sensation throughout his body.
How is that possible?!
Before Reinhardt could react, he was already trembling and half-kneeling on the ground. He had just taken out his wand and hadn't even had time to raise it.
He struggled to lift his paralyzed body, but his vision was completely black.
Four Thunderbird swooped down!
Upon the sudden appearance of so many highly dangerous Magical Creatures, Durmstrang's students instinctively took several steps back, even lowering their wands.
They had only gathered because of the so-called "face" of being classmates. Without anyone to organize them, the group of students was like scattered sand, and not a single one dared to cast a spell at the oncoming Thunderbird.
Krum also stared in shock at all of this, and finally reacted when the Thunderbird was only ten meters above the ground.
"Wallerup! Tell your Thunderbird to stop attacking!"
Sean lazily held up his wand, and transparent magic gently flowed out, forming an umbrella. The rain brought by the Thunderbird pelted the magical umbrella, and the water flowed down the ribs.
He flicked the water and replied with a laugh, "A fine spell in the realm of child's play, a few cute little fluffy birds—no big deal, right?"
Then, to Krum's horrified gaze, four Thunderbird swooped down and began a frenzied attack on the paralyzed Reinhardt.
Their claws and beaks were sharper than the finest knight's longsword, and Reinhardt, completely unable to resist, was knocked down in an instant.
The bright red blood spread along the water, and several deep gashes appeared on his body.
The Thunderbird swooped down, then circled back up, circling the arena once before spreading their wings and continuing to target Reinhardt.
However, the intense pain seemed to break the other person out of the numbness. His face was covered in blood, the veins near his temples were bulging, and his face was contorted.
"Wallerup!"
Reinhardt didn't even think about defending himself; he raised his wand, and a blinding red light shot straight toward Sean.
"Avis (Avis) —"
Before Sean appeared a large flock of cute yellow birds, chirping and circling together, before devouring the menacing curse.
Yellow feathers were scattered all over the ground, and the fine down was wet with rainwater mixed with blood, like a graffiti painting of yellow and red.
"Powerless—" Sean grinned, "Oppugno (oppugno)"
The Thunderbird roared in once more!
Another round of coordinated attacks ensued, Reinhardt collapsed helplessly to his knees on the playground. He was covered in blood, and the rain kept washing over his wounds, the stinging pain fully unleashing his ferocity.
"I want you dead!" He raised his wand, trembling, and a surge of magic condensed within him.
Sean narrowed his eyes.
Come on, let me see if you're truly a vessel for Sloth, or rather, whether you dare to reveal this secret in front of so many people...
"Enough!" Krum roared.
He ran up to Reinhardt, wand in hand, and a transparent barrier rose up, causing the swarming Thunderbird to collide head-on with the Shield Charm.
The ear-piercing metallic clang lasted only a second before Krum and Reinhardt behind him were violently sent flying.
He knelt on the ground, a tear in his shirt revealing a faint white mark on his exposed muscle.
It seems Karkaroff is indeed treating Krum well, and he even has a trigger-based Defensive Magic item... Sean curled his lip.
"Are you trying to start a war between the two schools?!" Krum roared, glancing back at Reinhardt, who was now completely unconscious.
The latter not only had a bunch of deep wounds that exposed the bone, but also several broken bones. If it weren't for the defensive Magical Item that Professor Karkaroff had given him in advance, he probably would have suffered such serious injuries!
"That idiot, he didn't even bring his Magical Item with him..." Krum thought through gritted teeth.
However, he didn't have much time to think. The Thunderbird were circling again, and the next attack was imminent. Helpless, Krum could only roar like this.
Sean still held his wand and umbrella, one hand in his pocket, like an old-fashioned gentleman welcoming an old friend in the rain.
"You Durmstrang are truly disgusting—" he said, frowning. "Your friend was rude and insulted my friend with the most vile words. Why didn't you stop him in time? And now you're telling me it's enough?"
Sean smiled faintly, "Hermione made the right choice not to accept your invitation to the ball."
Krum was taken aback, then gritted his teeth and lowered his head.
The Weasley twins, sharing an umbrella, were whispering to each other.
"Don't you think that although Reinhardt Nott got beaten up pretty badly, the one with the worst attitude from Sean was Kurum?" Fred said.
"That's what I think too. Sean looks exactly like someone whose girlfriend has been cheated on, and he's really upset about it." George nodded in deep agreement.
"But Sean invited Daisy to be his dance partner, didn't he?" Fred paused, then raised an eyebrow smugly. "Wow!"
George winked at him, "Wow~"
Fortunately, the two brothers were speaking quietly, and Sean was busy arguing with Durmstrang's two "Champion," otherwise he would have definitely had Thunderbird give those two guys a shock too.
Looking at Krum, who was still blocking Reinhardt's way, Sean arrogantly raised an eyebrow.
"And there's another one, that guy named Leon Schneider? Is that his name? Sometimes I'm really curious, where do you guys get the courage to compete against me in the Goblet of Triwizard Cup?"
"They even dared to secretly attack my team—I stand right here, ready to accept any challenge from any Durmstrang student, everyone, regardless of whether they are Champion or not, what year they are in, or what methods they use."
"Anything is fine—then, please prepare to lie down."
Sean stated the purpose of his trip directly, and his usual humble and gentle demeanor vanished, replaced by arrogance like that of a new generation of demon king.
He wanted to appear arrogant enough. Since the other party liked to hide in the shadows, he would just throw a straight punch at them, regardless of whether they were attackers or not. He would beat up the whole group first.
Moreover, Sean's provocation, though seemingly reckless, was actually the result of a lot of scheming.
This was merely a fight between students, and it wasn't two groups of wizards bombarding each other with spells; it was simply a private struggle between him, Reinhardt, and Krum.
It's normal for hot-blooded young men to get into a fight, right?
If Reinhardt, who was in a coma, could hear what Sean was thinking at this moment, he would probably wake up in anger and then faint again.
Let's fight?
You want to fight?!
You call it fighting if you unilaterally use four Thunderbird to bully someone?!
While verbally provoking Durmstrang's students, Sean was also subtly observing all the magic in the room. If any trace of Obscurus or Sin appeared, he would immediately lock onto it.
While Durmstrang's three Champion are the prime suspects, others cannot be completely ignored.
However, although he enjoyed bullying others, the other Durmstrang seemed to be completely intimidated by him. Faced with Sean's arrogant and domineering performance, not a single person dared to stand up and confront him directly.
After all, the intimidation of the four Thunderbird was truly terrifying, especially Reinhardt Nott, who was lying in a pool of blood. This guy, who was usually arrogant and haughty at school, was now like a dead dog.
Sean scanned the crowd, and surprisingly, not a single person dared to meet his gaze.
"What a pity, Leon Schneider didn't come," Sean thought regretfully.
Just as he continued to raise his wand, preparing to have the Thunderbird deliver the final blow to Krum and send him to Reinhardt's side as well.
Krum finally raised his head, and this usually resolute and strong man no longer looked like he used to.
He pursed his lips bitterly, his face full of defeat.
"It was Reinhardt's fault. He shouldn't have said those things to your friends. I'm willing to apologize to you, to Hermione, and to your friends on his behalf."
Sean raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Damn it, the Durmstrang people actually apologized.
This is truly a once-in-a-millennium event, especially since the person in front of us is a world-renowned Quidditch star.
However, as for the matter of apologizing...
Just as Sean was hesitating about whether to accept the apology, a roar came from above.
"What are you doing here?!"
The principal of Durmstrang, Karkaroff, has arrived.
