Background
As a human child, Doma was regarded as a child of God and became the leader of the Eternal Paradise Cult. As the cult expanded, followers came to him seeking relief from suffering; Doma privately regarded them as pathetic and did not believe in the divine realm they hoped to reach after death. 116
After becoming a Demon, Doma remained the cult's leader and used its believers as a source of food and influence. He transformed Daki and Gyutaro when they were in despair, helping them rise into the Upper Moons. 103
Under Hongyue's command, Doma researched ways to counter Breathing Techniques. This knowledge made him especially dangerous to swordsmen, whose reliance on breathing left them vulnerable to his ice crystal dust. 103 112 124
Appearance
Doma is a handsome, pale Demon with an outwardly gentle and approachable demeanor that contrasts sharply with the discomfort his presence evokes. 103
- Pure white hair, compared to bleached oak. 103
- Unique rainbow-colored pupils. 103
- Usually wears a soft, cloying smile that conceals his genuine indifference. 103 119
- His eyes display the characters denoting his rank as Upper Moon Two. 111
Personality
Doma presents himself as gentle, relaxed, and conversational, even while threatening or fighting others. Beneath that affectation, he is emotionally detached; his smiles and warmth are described as a playful disguise rather than genuine feeling. 112 119
He is intensely curious about unusual opponents and abilities. Kanae's mastery of Breathing Techniques and Kurozawa's Fighting Spirit and Pitch-Black Aura immediately capture his interest, and he is willing to experiment, analyze, and prolong a battle to understand them. 103 113 114
Doma claims to want friendship with Kanae, but his idea of friendship includes forcibly subduing and imprisoning her. He values his cult primarily as food and as a resource to deny Kurozawa Potential Points, though he also recognizes the cult's long history under his leadership. 107 115 116
Abilities & Skills
Blood Demon Art: Ice Manipulation
Doma creates and controls ice, ice dust, crystal weapons, and large ice constructs. His techniques can overwhelm opponents through scale, freezing effects, and battlefield control. 107 110 117
- Creates ice needles, blades, spears, vines, walls, and lotuses. 110 117 121
- His ice creations can burst into fine ice crystal dust after being damaged. 110 121
- The dust freezes victims internally when inhaled and can infiltrate through pores even if an opponent holds their breath. 110 112 119
- Uses solid ice to reinforce his body, allowing him to catch Kanae's Nichirin Blade with only minor damage. 111
Ice Bodhisattva
Doma can summon giant Bodhisattva-shaped ice figures that strike with immense force and speed. 107 110
- A single palm strike leaves a depression over a meter deep in the ground. 107
- The constructs can launch barrages of ice weapons and coordinate with Ice Puppets. 110 112
- At full output, Doma fields multiple Ice Bodhisattvas simultaneously; five surround Kurozawa during their final confrontation. 117 118
Crystalline Puppets
Doma creates Ice Puppets identical to his main body. They share his thoughts and Blood Demon Art capabilities. 110
- A puppet can manipulate Ice Bodhisattvas and independently use techniques such as Vine Lotus. 110
- Doma initially deploys three puppets against Kurozawa, then reveals a maximum of five. 112 117
- The puppets possess Fighting Spirit fluctuations indistinguishable from Doma's main body. 117
Ice Crystal Domain
Doma transforms the surrounding battlefield into a domain saturated with freezing ice crystals, vines, and pillars. 112 117
- Severely weakens swordsmen by forcing ice crystal dust into their bodies while they breathe. 112 124
- Enhances the activity and Fighting Spirit fluctuations of Doma and his Ice Puppets within the domain. 117
- Its dispersed ice dust is ineffective against Kurozawa once his Pitch-Black Aura fully protects him. 116 119
Frigid White Princess
Doma creates giant ice lotuses bearing maiden-like upper bodies that exhale freezing crystal-laden air. 117
- The emitted frost creates an ice-crystal forest of sharp vines and pillars across the battlefield. 117
Defensive Ice Sphere
Doma can enclose himself in an exceptionally hard, condensed ice sphere. 121
- The sphere redirects force rather than resisting it directly, preventing Kurozawa's blade from reaching Doma despite cutting deeply into the ice. 121
Relationships
- Kurozawa — Initially an enemy and object of fascination; Doma recognizes him as an unprecedented threat capable of killing Demons. After Hongyue subdues him, Doma obeys Kurozawa's orders, but later surrenders to him before his death. 103 117 124 171
- Kanae — Enemy whom Doma seeks to make his “friend.” He admires her skill and scent, but freezes and imprisons her when she refuses him. 107 111 112
- Hongyue — His superior. Hongyue uses her bloodline control to bind Doma and delivers him to Kurozawa; she later declares that Kurozawa's orders carry her authority. 123 124
- Daki and Gyutaro — Demons transformed by Doma. They respect him for giving them blood and aiding their rise to Upper Moon status. 103
- Akaza — A rival Upper Moon whom Doma defeated in a rank-up blood battle. Doma considers his own abilities particularly effective against Akaza's Fighting Spirit-based combat style. 103 117
Story Role / Major Arcs
Lotus Town and the Sacred Selection
Doma presides over the Sacred Selection in Lotus Town, appearing before his followers on an ice lotus and distributing ice lotuses to selected women, including Kanae. When Kurozawa is exposed, Doma orders cult members to attack him. 104 107
Battle against Kanae and Kurozawa
Doma battles Kanae with Ice Bodhisattvas, overwhelms her with ice crystal dust, and seals her inside an ice sculpture. He then uses Ice Puppets, Ice Bodhisattvas, and the Ice Crystal Domain to fight Kurozawa. 107 111 112 117
Kurozawa's Pitch-Black Aura eventually negates the most dangerous aspect of Doma's domain, while his complete demonization allows him to destroy Doma's constructs despite severe injuries. Doma is wounded and forced into a defensive position as dawn approaches. 116 118 119 121
Capture and Forced Service
Hongyue arrives before Kurozawa can kill Doma, binds him through her bloodline control, and offers him to Kurozawa. Kurozawa ultimately spares Doma, ordering him to hide in Asakusa and release Kanae; Doma accepts Kurozawa's authority. 123 124
Death
When Hongyue triggers the Upper Moons' bloodlines, a Demonic Hand manifests from Doma's body and attacks him. Unable to withstand the combined threat, Doma stops resisting and surrenders; Kurozawa immediately decapitates him. 171
