Background & History

Su Ren once lived as a mercenary and moved in the same circles as former outlaws such as Han Wenlong. His mercenary group was attacked, and a failed breakthrough during the incident caused his genes to collapse, reducing his rank. He also lost his left hand and foot to a Spirit Beast in his younger, more reckless years. 3 28 39

After settling at P-314 Shelter, Su Ren became an instructor and the shelter’s second-in-command. He raised Su Shijie alongside Bai Xinxin, Bai Congcong, Li Wei, and Li Meier; although several of the children were orphans of his fallen comrades, he considers all of them his own family. 3 21 48

When Su Shijie revealed his encounter with an Evil Spirit and the abnormality of his soul core, Su Ren immediately treated the matter as a dangerous secret. He tested, trained, and guided his son personally while helping him conceal the true nature of his Bloodline Transformations. 5 6 8

Su Ren repeatedly accompanied Su Shijie into the wilderness, where he taught him how to hunt Spirit Beasts, use surrounding psionic energy for cultivation, and survive unexpected encounters with Contaminated Beasts. During one such battle, he held off a contaminated giant black wolf despite his injuries, allowing Su Shijie to interfere with Soul Tendrils and create the opening for its death. 7 8 16 17

His investigation into Contamination Sources and Evil God cultists placed him in conflict with Sergei, commander of P-314. When Sergei seized the shelter and attempted to recruit him, Su Ren used Illusion to defeat him and escaped to continue searching for his children. 18 51 52

Following the destruction of P-314, Su Ren relocated with his family to Binhai City. His prosthetics were eventually replaced with healthy limbs, and he became a senior executive at Huang Family Security before later taking coaching work at the Wang Family’s Martial Arts School. 156 157 462

Appearance

Su Ren is initially depicted as a rugged, stubbled man with a disabled appearance: a hook replaced one hand, while a wooden support replaced one foot. After moving to Binhai, he regained complete limbs and adopted a more refined, handsome appearance. 5 6 156

In dangerous situations, his demeanor becomes cold, calm, and methodical. He reacts to threats against his family with immediate seriousness, carefully limits the spread of sensitive information, and views Evil God cultists as enemies who should be eliminated without hesitation. 5 24 41

Although intensely protective, Su Ren deliberately encourages Su Shijie to make his own judgments.
