Background

Tang San grew up in Holy Spirit Village with his father, Tang Hao, believing Tang Hao to be only the village blacksmith. He awakened Blue Silver Grass with Innate Full Soul Power and became Yu Xiaogang's disciple after obtaining his first Spirit Ring. Spirit Hall's discovery of his unusual combination of Innate Full Soul Power and Blue Silver Grass led Bibi Dong to suspect that he possessed Twin Martial Souls. 13 14

When Spirit Hall agents investigated his family, Tang Hao killed the pursuing deacons and fled with Tang San and Xiao Wu. Tang Hao forced Xiao Wu, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit in human form, to become Tang San's sworn sister in exchange for protection. Tang San pledged to protect her “unless” he died. 14

Tang Hao brought Tang San and Xiao Wu to Suotuo City, where Tang San entered Shrek Academy through Yu Xiaogang's recommendation. Although Tang San initially trusted Yu Xiaogang completely, Tang Yuehua later revealed herself as his biological aunt and took him away from Shrek for further guidance. 21 117 118

Yu Xiaogang later convinced Tang San to secretly add Spirit Rings to his Clear Sky Hammer using a supposed ancient Twin Martial Souls cultivation method. Tang San reached level 52 and became a Soul King, but the process was stated to sacrifice his Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul. At the Blue Silver King's ruined territory, Tang San heard the lingering resentment of the Blue Silver King and the destroyed Blue Silver Grass. His Martial Soul mutated into Dark Blue Silver Grass, and he awakened the Dark Blue Silver Domain. Tang San was initially portrayed as composed and self-controlled; when Ye Tianxing first observed him at Shrek Academy, neither reacted to the other's gaze. He was deeply loyal to the people he considered family, especially Tang Hao and Xiao Wu, and readily placed himself in danger to protect Xiao Wu. 35 14 215
