Campus and Admissions

Shrek Academy originally operated from a run-down village outside Suotuo City. Its grounds consisted largely of wooden houses amid ordinary village life; its decaying signboard was partly overgrown by creeping plants. Chronic difficulty recruiting students left it unable to maintain even basic facilities or stable funding. 34 35

Students

History

Suotuo City period

Shrek Academy struggled to recruit qualified students before Tang Hao presented Flender with a letter that secured admission for Tang San and Xiao Wu. 21 Ye Tianxing subsequently entered the academy disguised as Ye Ping'an. He found its severe enrollment standards had produced a school closer to a small village than a properly equipped academy. 35

Ye Ping'an passed the entrance examinations after defeating Dai Mubai, then fought Tang San and Xiao Wu during the final test. He later enrolled, defeating both Dai Mubai and Tang San in tests of strength. 37 39 Flender praised him as the academy’s greatest talent and credited him with helping solve its funding problem. 49

The academy’s students displayed solidarity against Canghui Academy during a restaurant conflict, though the incident reinforced Shrek’s reputation for troublemaking. 50 51 Ye Ping'an later left after escalating conflict with Yu Xiaogang, who had threatened to expel him. 63 69

Destruction and flight

While Shrek was distracted by conflict in Suotuo City, Ye Tianxing retrieved the Blue Silver Emperor and its spirit bone from the academy. The ensuing battle devastated the campus; its buildings were destroyed, and Flender fainted upon seeing the ruins. 73 74 75

The academy’s financial situation worsened after it could no longer fulfill its Soto Great Spirit Arena commitment against the Imperial Fighting Team. Sponsors and the arena demanded compensation, leaving Flender nearly bankrupt. 76

The surviving members fled toward Heaven Dou City, narrowly avoiding Spirit Hall and crossing the Star Dou Great Forest. They reached Heaven Dou Royal Academy after three months of travel. 102

Failed merger with Heaven Dou Royal Academy

Qin Ming had arranged for Shrek Academy to merge into Heaven Dou Royal Academy, whose Education Committee initially considered the strength of Flender and Shrek’s teachers valuable. 103 The proposed merger collapsed after Ye Ping'an revealed his former connection to Shrek and accused Yu Xiaogang of mistreatment and Shrek of encouraging indiscriminate troublemaking. 104

Yu Xiaogang publicly described Ye Ping'an as disrespectful and unfit to be a student, unaware that Meng Shenji and the other committee members had received major benefits from Ye Ping'an’s Soul Ascension Pills. 105 106 Prince Xue Xing, Dugu Bo, and the Education Committee sided against Shrek; the academy was forced to leave Heaven Dou Royal Academy. 107

Re-establishment in Heaven Dou City

With no safe refuge and Spirit Hall pursuers behind them, Flender’s group attempted to join Seven Leaf Star Advanced Spirit Master Academy. The academy was secretly founded by Ye Ping'an, who used the encounter to humiliate Yu Xiaogang and reject the proposed merger. 108 109 110

Liu Erlong instead took in the group at Blue Tyrant Academy, which was renamed Shrek Academy. 111 Ye Ping'an initially blocked sales of Soul Ascension Pills to the academy, tying relief from the blockade to Yu Xiaogang’s departure or public apology. 111 112 After Yu Xiaogang chose to kowtow step by step to Ye Ping'an, the restriction was lifted. 113

All-Continent Advanced Spirit Master Elite Tournament

Shrek Academy entered the tournament wearing conspicuous shit-green uniforms that drew public ridicule. 136 Its first preliminary match was against Seven Leaf Star Academy, where Ye Ping'an’s Evil Whale Crescent Slash defeated Shrek’s team in a single attack. 137 138

The academy then suffered further public embarrassment after Yu Xiaogang’s laxative incident caused the nickname “Shitrek” to spread. The team forfeited a match against Elephant Armored Academy while Tang San was absent and the incident continued to disrupt the academy. 140 143

Despite its early losses, Shrek Academy recovered after Tang San returned with mutated Dark Blue Silver Grass. It defeated Blazing Fire Academy, later advanced from the preliminaries, and secured a place in the elimination rounds. 145 147 158

During the elimination rounds, Shrek was disqualified from its opening match following a conflict involving Xiao Wu, Soft Bone Rabbits, and other academies. 170 171 The team later rose in the standings after Tang San began using the Clear Sky Hammer. 184

At the tournament, officials and spectators increasingly regarded Shrek as a habitual source of disorder. Its repeated conflicts led to public mockery, disciplinary action, and isolation from other academies. 171 172 174
