"Xiao Feng, do you know them?"
Seeing Chen Feng staring in that direction, Tang San spoke up and asked.
"I have some guesses, but I can't be sure," Chen Feng replied.
"Who do you think they are?" Grandmaster suddenly asked at that moment.
Chen Feng turned back and saw Grandmaster looking at him, so he smiled.
"Are you testing me, Grandmaster?"
"That's right." Grandmaster nodded.
"I think they're from Star Luo. Those two children are most likely from the Dai Family and the Zhu Family," Chen Feng said without much hesitation.
"Your observation is good. Heterochromatic eyes are the hallmark of the Star Luo Dai Family, but how did you determine that little girl came from the Zhu Family?" Grandmaster asked.
"Uh... I guessed."
Chen Feng couldn't exactly say that he had read the original story, so seeing this pair had given him some ideas, could he?
"Your answer is correct, but you can't rely on guessing in matters like this in the future. Let me tell you about the characteristics of the Zhu Family." Grandmaster picked up his cup and took a sip before beginning his explanation.
"Because the Zhu Family has passed down the Hell Spirit Cat Martial Soul for generations, they have developed a specialized training method within the family. Those Zhu Family members who undergo this training, especially the women, can be identified by the way they walk."
Hearing that, Chen Feng looked once more at the Black-Haired Little Girl and noticed that she really did have a faintly feline bearing as she walked. It just was not very obvious, perhaps because she had not trained for long.
"So that's how it is." He nodded, showing that he had learned something.
Just then, the blond, heterochromatic-eyed boy suddenly looked over and walked toward them, speaking in a somewhat unfriendly tone.
"You lot have been staring at us and whispering to each other. If you have something to say, say it to our faces!"
"Hey! You—mmph, mmph..." Xiao Wu was about to speak when Chen Feng covered her mouth.
This little miss had quite the fiery temper. If he let her speak, a conflict that had never needed to happen would become unavoidable.
As Chen Feng manually muted Xiao Wu, he said, "It's like this. The moment I saw the three of you, I was struck by your heroic bearing and extraordinary presence, so I discussed with the elder accompanying us which family's outstanding children you might be.
"My teacher told me that on the continent, people with such bearing could only be from the Star Luo Dai Family or the Zhu Family. He also introduced me to some information about the Dai Family and the Zhu Family. If our discussion caused you any discomfort, please forgive us."
The blond, heterochromatic-eyed boy froze for a moment. The displeasure on his face melted away like ice and snow, revealing a trace of embarrassment.
"S-so that's what it was. Actually, it didn't really cause any trouble. I was too impulsive just now. I came over and lost my temper before understanding what was going on. Sorry."
As one of the nominal heirs to the throne of the Star Luo Empire, Dai Mubai had hardly received any proper praise since birth. Everyone's attention was fixed only on Dai Weisi.
And Dai Weisi truly was outstanding. Both his intelligence and cultivation talent were first-rate. Under such circumstances, although Dai Mubai appeared to live in splendor, the pressure in his heart was immense.
Now, hearing Chen Feng's words, Dai Mubai felt as if a long drought had finally met sweet rain. A wave of relief washed over him.
"It's fine. Since we've met, it's fate of a sort. Why not come over and share a table with us?" As he spoke, Chen Feng turned back and raised his eyebrows at Xiao Wu.
See that? This was how adults handled things. For someone who had lived a hundred thousand years, you'd practically lived it as a rabbit.
With her mouth still covered, Xiao Wu stared wide-eyed, unable to react for a long while.
Grandmaster, meanwhile, silently sighed to himself. At such a young age, he already understood the ways of dealing with people so well. It seemed there was no need to worry too much that this child would get himself into trouble with his words in the future.
"Mm, that works. I'll call Uncle Chen and Zhuqing over." The blond, heterochromatic-eyed boy turned to leave, but after taking two steps, he turned back again. "Oh, right. My name is Dai Mubai."
After saying that, he walked toward the middle-aged man.
It really was Dai Mubai. By this point, he should only be nine years old, perhaps not even that. He certainly looked rather immature, Chen Feng thought to himself.
"Hey! That guy was acting so arrogantly just now. Why were you still saying nice things to them?" Xiao Wu asked after pushing Chen Feng's hand away.
"When you're away from home, why create unnecessary trouble? Besides, we were the ones discussing them first, which was what drew Dai Mubai over here.
"Since it was only a misunderstanding rather than a matter of principle, there was no need to keep escalating the conflict and make a simple matter more complicated," Chen Feng said calmly.
"Xiao Feng is right. Xiao Wu, you should control your temper a little," Tang San also advised.
Having lived two lives, he naturally would not care about such petty disputes. In his view, Chen Feng had handled it very well, while Xiao Wu's temper truly was a little too explosive.
"Hmph! Fine, I get it. You two are the only ones with good tempers, is that it?" Xiao Wu huffed as she grabbed a pastry and began gnawing on it.
Chen Feng looked toward the counter and saw Dai Mubai saying something to the middle-aged man. Then the man's gaze turned toward them.
His eyes swept over everyone before settling on Grandmaster, revealing a look of surprise.
"So it's him? There has been no news of the Golden Iron Triangle for so many years. I never expected to see one of them here today."
"The Golden Iron Triangle?" Dai Mubai also looked at Grandmaster in surprise. "Uncle Chen Yun, is he a member of the Golden Iron Triangle? Which one is he?"
"He is the Horn of Wisdom." Chen Yun thought for a moment, then nodded. "Since we've encountered him, we'll do as you said and go over to greet them."
He looked at the attendant at the counter.
"Please bring the food we ordered over there."
"Yes, Lord Soul Master," the attendant replied.
"Let's go, Zhuqing," Chen Yun said to the silent Black-Haired Little Girl beside him.
Zhu Zhuqing nodded absentmindedly and followed behind Chen Yun and Dai Mubai.
Seeing this, Dai Mubai sighed inwardly.
Not long ago, Zhu Zhuqing had just awakened her Martial Soul when it was discovered that she might be able to perform Martial Soul Fusion with Dai Mubai.
And that meant Zhu Zhuqing would be forced to join Dai Mubai in the brutal struggle among the heirs.
But Zhu Zhuqing clearly still could not accept this. She did not understand why, overnight, the sister who had once doted on her had changed completely, nor why her father's attitude toward her had begun to grow cold.
It left Zhu Zhuqing deeply saddened. She did not want to fight her sister to the death, and for a time, she became somewhat depressed.
Dai Mubai did not actually want to fight his eldest brother either, but the rules had always been this way, and he could not defy them. So while he was out hunting Soul Beasts this time, he could only bring Zhu Zhuqing along to help her clear her mind and see whether she might improve.
That was why he had traveled so far instead of choosing a Soul Beast gathering ground within the Star Luo Empire.
