Background / History
Peter Parker operated as Spider-Man while concealing his identity from Aunt May and Gwen Stacy. After Venom’s attack, Jude Herbert exposed his identity and pressured him into silence over Ivy’s superpowers; Peter feared losing his Daily Bugle job and upsetting Aunt May. 80
Ivy later fired Peter from the Daily Bugle, but Jude immediately employed him as a researcher at Heissem Technology Company. His first major assignment was analyzing recovered symbiote flesh, where he identified its anomalous biology and worked alongside Jude’s cloning and armor projects. 83 85 86
Jude eventually helped reveal Peter’s Spider-Man identity to Aunt May and Gwen. Their acceptance relieved Peter, who had expected fear and rejection. 105
During the Inhuman conflict, Peter assisted the Inhuman leadership in developing a spaceship while secretly sabotaging it. When the Inhumans attempted to leave the Moon, the vessel exploded; Jude recognized that Peter had prepared the sabotage in advance without informing him. 214 217
After an interstellar arena defeat and Jude’s cruel tampering with a transformation potion, Peter openly fought with Jude and was kicked back to Earth through a portal. 259 260 On returning home, he discovered a duplicate Peter had been living in New York. Fearing that the clone threatened his uniqueness, he killed and buried him despite uncertainty over whether either one was the original. 261 262
Peter later reconciled with Jude after Aunt May confronted him over his resentment and reminded him of Jude’s help to their family. 342 He eventually became associated with Parker Industries and expressed a preference for a more balanced, peaceful life than Jude’s constant adventuring. 426
Personality
Peter initially embodies the ideal of a young superhero: he protects civilians even when severely outnumbered, refuses to kill defeated enemies, and worries deeply about the safety and approval of Aunt May and Gwen. 105 118 121
He is eager to learn, especially in science and engineering, but is strongly affected by Jude’s approval and intimidation. He admires Jude’s inventions, works intensely for his research salary, and often defers to Jude despite privately resolving not to become a puppet. 89 97 245
His experiences gradually harden him. He secretly destroys the Inhuman spaceship, becomes willing to kill his own clone, and acknowledges that his former compassionate moral compass has been damaged by Jude’s influence. 217 262 326
Abilities & Skills
Spider Physiology
Peter gained superpowers after being bitten by a super-spider. 80
- Uses webbing for rapid travel and restraint. 114 123
- Possesses enhanced strength and durability, though enemies such as the Sinister Six can overwhelm him without armor. 119
- Has Spider-Sense, which warns him of immediate danger; it detected Reverse-Flash’s arrival but did not give him enough time to react. 97
- Retains his superpowers even after surrendering his intellect in Mephisto’s bargain. 307
Scientific Research and Engineering
Peter develops considerable technical ability through work at Heissem and prolonged collaboration with Jude. 83 214
- Analyzed the symbiote’s cellular structure and recognized that it did not resemble a known life form. 86
- Produced large quantities of laboratory equipment efficiently during Operation Phoenix. 97
- Contributed physics and engineering expertise to Jude’s battle-armor work. 99
- Led construction work on an Inhuman spaceship and independently completed the Star One project from Jude’s blueprints. 214 218
- Developed Black Widow 1 under Jude’s supervision. 371
- Was assigned to create a molecular erasure machine combining black-hole simulation and teleportation functions. 373
Spider Armor
Peter’s armor is activated by concentrating and shouting “Marvel is great!” 114 121
- Generates armor directly from a subcutaneously implanted chest chip. 121
- Enhances strength enough to overpower Rhino and defeat the Sinister Six individually. 121
- Uses back thrusters for flight and propulsion. 121 123
- Deploys eight mechanical spider legs for shielding, grappling, cutting, mobility, and combat. 121
- Contains a combat AI using a simulated version of Gwen Stacy’s voice; the AI can scan targets and upload operational tutorials to Peter’s brain. 121
- Its destructive power can cause major collateral damage; the Sinister Six battle collapsed a commercial street and surrounding buildings. 121
- Peter consciously limits its lethality, choosing to incapacitate opponents rather than kill them. 121 123
Sabotage and Strategic Planning
Peter can act covertly and ruthlessly when he believes it is necessary. 217
- Secretly sabotaged the Inhumans’ spaceship during its development, eliminating their departing leadership. 217
- Used tactical prioritization against the Sinister Six, initially attempting to neutralize Vulture to reduce the team’s aerial advantage. 119
- Was able to disarm Doctor Octopus and temporarily blind Vulture even before receiving his armor. 118
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Cowboy 1 — Battle armor developed with Jude’s guidance. 105
- Spider Armor / Power Armor chip — Emergency armor system implanted by Jude without Peter’s knowledge while he was drunk. 121

- Black Widow 1 — First-generation armor developed by Peter under Jude’s instruction. 371
- Unknown transformation potion — Given by Jude for Peter’s battle with the Silver Surfer; it mutated him into a painful Cronenberg-like form and was later revealed to have been tampered with. 259 260
Relationships
- Jude Herbert — Employer, mentor, collaborator, and frequent manipulator. Their relationship shifts from admiration to open conflict, then reconciliation. 83 105 260 342
- Aunt May — Peter’s guardian and maternal figure. Her acceptance of his superhero identity is deeply important to him. 105 342
- Gwen Stacy — Peter’s girlfriend and emotional support; he is devastated when the Gwen-voiced armor AI is destroyed. 105 259 261
- Ivy — Jude’s ally and former Daily Bugle superior who learns Peter’s identity early; later helps mediate his conflict with Jude. 80 83 342
- Harry Osborn — Friend and eventual ally in Power Armor production and combat. 189
- Crystal — An Inhuman who attempts to persuade Peter to join her; he remains loyal to Gwen and Jude’s plans. 217
Story Role / Major Arcs
Heissem Technology Researcher
Peter is recruited from the Daily Bugle into Heissem Technology Company, where he studies symbiote biology and assists Jude’s research, cloning, and armor projects. 83 85 86 96
Sinister Six Conflict
The Sinister Six ambush Peter to exchange him with A.R.G.U.S. for their freedom. He is badly injured, unmasked, and captured before triggering the implanted Power Armor. 118 119 120 Using the Spider Armor, he defeats all six while trying to avoid killing them. 121 123
Inhuman Revolt
While appearing to aid the Inhumans’ technological progress, Peter secretly rigs their spaceship to explode during the slave rebellion’s aftermath. Jude praises the act as ruthlessly effective, and an eighty-meter statue of Peter is later erected beside Jude’s on the Moon. 214 217
Interstellar Arena and Break with Jude
Peter enters an arena match against the Silver Surfer after betting one million energy coins on himself. His armor is destroyed, and Jude’s potion turns him into a grotesque but damage-resistant creature; after his defeat, Jude deliberately prolongs the mutation as punishment and profits from Peter’s loss. 259 260
Clone Crisis
Back on Earth, Peter encounters another Peter Parker who had replaced him during his absence. Unable to accept the possibility of sharing—or losing—his identity, Peter kills the clone and buries the body outside New York. 261 262
Mephisto and Hell
When Aunt May’s condition worsens, Peter considers extreme technological solutions and is offered a bargain by Mephisto in exchange for his intellect. 305 He later accompanies Jude into Mephisto’s Hell and helps recount their victory over Mephisto after returning home. 308 338
Trivia
