Background / History

Tsunade is the granddaughter of the First Hokage and a disciple of the Third Hokage. Before the Third Shinobi World War, she advocated creating a formal Medical Ninja system; Konoha's leadership later regretted rejecting the proposal as shortages of medical personnel became critical at the front. 13 28

The deaths of her younger brother and lover, Kato Dan, left her deeply disillusioned with Konoha's leadership and the cycle of war. As the last active Senju on the battlefield, she remained through Konoha's conflict with Sunagakure, but resolved to leave once it ended. 28 66
