Foreshadowing

Li Qi glanced at the Perfected One beside him.

His heart skipped a beat.

The malice from Immortal Heaven had vanished, only to be replaced by the other party's gaze.

Clearly, this Perfected One had heard their conversation.

Motherfucker, just kill me already!

Though the man had fallen in rank and had his own Great Dao devoured by Immortal Heaven, he still possessed the insight and vision a third rank should have, and his understanding of the Great Dao had not weakened.

In other words, this was like what had happened when Wu Tu had fallen in rank. Back then, Wu Tu had been able to cobble together an array at eighth rank that could contend with seventh rank, driving back most of an entire city's eighth-rankers alone...

And now Li Qi was supposed to fight someone like that?

"Wait a moment." Zhu Fengdan raised his hand again. "Could you give me some time before the match?"

"Teacher!?" Li Qi turned toward him, dumbfounded.

What match? Were you seriously planning to have me fight a third ranker?

How the hell could I possibly win that!?

Unfortunately, Zhu Fengdan could not hear him. Li Qi was currently in a state of Dao Integration. Though he retained his consciousness, he could not break free of Immortal Heaven, much less send messages at will.

There was only one problem.

Why could Li Qi still retain his own consciousness after Dao Integration?

Li Qi himself had not even realized there was a problem. He still thought he had not undergone Dao Integration.

After all, he had never undergone Dao Integration before. He had eaten others, sure, but could being the tiger possibly feel the same as being the meat?

Zhu Fengdan did not hear Li Qi's words and instead continued speaking to Immortal Heaven.
