"Is that all you wanted to tell me?"
Lin Feng went straight to the point today, not wanting to waste any more time on other topics. He was here to kill two birds with one stone, to use the Wallbreaker operation to strike back at the ETO.
"Forgive my rudeness, Mr. Taylor, but I will now reveal your Wallfacer plan to the world."
"Oh? Then tell me about it."
Lin Feng smiled and gestured for the other person to speak quickly.
Wallfacer plan? Don't make me laugh!
He wasn't even wallfacing, so how could there be a Wallfacer plan?
The protagonist in the original story could solve the problems; why would he need to rack his brain to wallface? He didn't need to!
He hadn't even thought about a Wallfacer plan from the very beginning, and now someone wanted to wallbreak him?
He really wanted to see what this ETO Wallbreaker could do to break a 'wall' that never existed in the first place!
ETO! You've chosen an opponent you absolutely cannot defeat!
"Alright, Mr. Taylor."
Although Lin Feng's reaction was different from what he had expected and felt a bit strange, Von Neumann didn't think too deeply about it. His previous successful wallbreak had filled him with confidence.
If he could defeat Frederick Taylor, he could naturally defeat his son too!
Organizing his thoughts, the Wallbreaker Von Neumann began to speak. The clamor of the surrounding onlookers gradually subsided, and all eyes turned to the Wallfacer and the Wallbreaker.
"First, please allow me to briefly summarize the strategic plan you have announced to the outside world—to utilize the inefficient energy dissipation characteristics of macro-electrons to store the electrical energy collected by human civilization over centuries, thereby supporting future human fleets in defeating the enemy."
"May I ask, am I correct in my understanding of your strategic intent?"
Lin Feng looked at the Wallbreaker with some pity. "You're not going to announce this, are you? I already announced it publicly in the news, and everyone already knows about it. Is ETO's network information that far behind?"
"No, please allow me to say no. This is not your true strategic intent; this is a disguise."
Huh? What does that mean? How could I not know my own thoughts?
Lin Feng felt both annoyed and amused. He asked mockingly, "Oh? Then what is my true strategic intent?"
"It is survival."
The Wallbreaker Von Neumann replied with certainty.
Survival? Survival of what?
This answer left Lin Feng completely bewildered.
The confusion caused Lin Feng's initial mockery to subside. This change led Von Neumann to believe that his wallbreaking was beginning to show results, and he was peeling away the Wallfacer's disguise.
"You and your father, your intentions are too obvious. No, you are even more impatient and opportunistic than he was."
"What made me doubt your strategic intent was that immediately after becoming a Wallfacer, you couldn't wait to announce your plan..."
"What's wrong with that? If I don't announce my plan, am I supposed to complete such a massive amount of work all by myself?" Lin Feng retorted.
Von Neumann shook his head. "No, I mean, you really didn't need to make your plan public so early. There's no need to rush such a thing. Your actions are like desperately shouting, wanting to tell everyone—trust me, trust that this plan I've announced is my true strategic intent."
Lin Feng fell silent. What the Wallbreaker said was not wrong. The press conference he organized back then was indeed driven by such thoughts.
He urgently needed everyone to know his plan.
He had to do something in his position. If Lin Feng had openly slacked off like Luo Ji and done nothing, the United Nations would have found trouble with him within a few years, forcing him to work through special means.
For example, using the chains of family—if he didn't work, his wife and children would never see him again.
Otherwise, with Luo Ji's personality, how could he have wallfaced and eventually become the Swordholder?
Lin Feng believed that the UN had more than one way to force people's hand.
He didn't want to end up in that situation, so at the very least, he had to have a plan on the surface, a plan that seemed capable of defeating the Trisolaran Fleet.
Only then could the UN allow him to slack off.
Lin Feng's silence strengthened Von Neumann's resolve to wallbreak. He believed that Lin Feng's inner state was severely damaged because his 'true' Wallfacer plan was being revealed.
Von Neumann continued, "After realizing that the plan you announced was not your true strategic intent, I began to wonder what your true strategic intent actually was."
"I know all your movements and all the orders you've issued. Besides that publicly displayed disguised plan, you only seem to be interested in fusion reactors."
"In other words, you have an overly enthusiastic passion for 'energy,' which makes me suspicious."
Lin Feng said irritably, "What do these things you're saying have to do with the 'survival' you mentioned earlier? My plan was originally to hoard a large amount of energy and then use this massive energy accumulated over centuries to help future humans defeat the incoming Trisolarans."
Von Neumann nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Yes, your enthusiasm is reasonable and consistent with the strategic intent you've revealed. For a while, I thought the same way, and my attention wasn't focused on this."
"I could say, you almost fooled me..."
"...packaging your true strategic plan and disguising it as a seemingly false strategic plan, openly presenting it to everyone, telling them this is your true strategic plan. Am I correct, Mr. Taylor?"
What the hell?
You said my plan was fake earlier, and now you're saying it's real?
Are you deliberately messing with me?
"I don't understand what you mean."
Lin Feng genuinely had no idea what this Wallbreaker opposite him was trying to say this time.
"It's no use denying it, the facts are as they are. In China, we call this 'darkness under the lamp'."
Deny what? I don't even know what you're talking about! Lin Feng grumbled inwardly.
"Then tell me, what is my real plan?"
Von Neumann smiled confidently and said, "Your plan requires a massive amount of energy and macro-electrons. But this energy isn't meant to help humanity's future fleet destroy the enemy; it's meant to destroy the entire Earth, including humanity!"
Lin Feng's pupils contracted sharply, shock evident on his face. The onlookers in Washington Square were equally stunned.
"My God! The Wallfacer wants to destroy us?!"
"Is that true?!"
"What? He wants to kill all of us! And everything on Earth!?"
"That's impossible! Why would he do that?"
Von Neumann pressed his advantage, intending to completely expose Feng Taylor's 'true' Wallfacer plan!
"From the very beginning, you never intended to confront the Trisolaran Fleet directly centuries from now. Your plan is to detonate the ball lightning stored in various locations around the globe at the opportune moment, turning the entire Earth and all of human civilization into quantum ghosts!"
