Spirit Summoning Society

Jin Ping first confronts Bai Yueming during the attack on Jincai Credit, using his Master Grade Red Quality card [God of Trade Hermes] to process crimson materials through a golden balance scale. Hermes' connection to the scales is the source of Jin Ping's “Ghost Scale” nickname. 46

As president of the Spirit Summoning Society, Jin Ping recruits and coerces talented Card Masters through contracts. He attempts to draw Lu Su into the Society after the Talent Cup; when persuasion appears unlikely, he orders Gu Wu to try again and authorizes Lu Su's death if the attempt fails. 53

Jin Ping places exceptional value on Lu Su's position as Bai Yueming's disciple. After Lu Su joins the Society, Jin Ping orders him to prioritize concealing his identity above all else, even permitting him to abandon the Society's Donglai branch and its members as bait if necessary. 202

Australian Operations and Demonization Research

Four Calamity Gods Plot

After Lu Su reaches Diamond Grade, Jin Ping reveals that he intends to bring a Hall of Fame Grade Secret Realm—associated with the Four Calamity Gods—into Shanghai City. Lu Su concludes that Jin Ping seeks to learn the Four Calamity Gods' ability to devour Secret Realms. 322

Jin Ping orders Lu Su to obtain a post in Shanghai City and later instructs him to ensure an out-of-control Secret Realm Demon dies slowly, using Lu Su's official position to support his larger operation. 322 323

Lu Su ultimately exposes the scheme to Bai Yueming and the Shanghai City Card Master Association. When Adley transfers ownership of many Society contracts away from Jin Ping, Jin Ping realizes Lu Su has defected and launches an open confrontation. 329 330

Downfall

Jin Ping attempts to use Hermes to turn Lu Su into a material, but the transaction fails for an unknown reason. He later retreats after Lu Su destroys several of his subordinates and damages the scales supporting Hermes' combat power. 331 333

Following the Spirit Summoning Society's collapse, Jin Ping continues operating from the City within a City with Skin Peeler and Marcus. He allies with demons, absorbs much of the Fallen Cult, and accelerates his plans as Lu Su's growth increasingly threatens him. 348 359 362

To stabilize a third Secret Realm near Shanghai City, Jin Ping is forced to bear the cost of his contracts after Marcus turns the burden back on him. Contracted Fallen Cult members die as decoys, while Jin Ping himself is severely weakened. 367 368

Despite Ye Zhou's death and the successful opening of the third rift, Jin Ping's plan fails when Lu Su summons the Spirit King. The Spirit King prevents the Four Calamity Gods from descending, defeats Jin Ping's faction, and captures Jin Ping. 368 369

He is also volatile. Jin Ping treats Lu Su's apparent betrayal of Bai Yueming as proof of loyalty to himself, then becomes increasingly reckless when Lu Su's real defection is exposed.
