Background / History

Utred was initially the weakest of the Four Rule Overlords because the Destruction Rule received comparatively little Faith Power. To change this, he spread Battle Qi through certain Material Planes, enabling weaker people to resist while intensifying conflict and slaughter. The resulting increase in Destruction faith rapidly elevated his strength until he surpassed Rias and reached Great Perfection. 76

Eager to establish himself as the strongest Rule Overlord, Utred publicly challenged Rias and Vivian, defeating both with ease before numerous Sovereigns. He then challenged Of and suffered a crushing defeat, an outcome made more embarrassing because Utred himself had invited spectators. 76

When unfilled Sovereign positions remained for too long, Utred convened dozens of Sovereigns in Hell's Sea of Chaos and proposed asking the Supreme Gods to manifest all remaining Divine Sparks. The proposal passed unanimously, after which the four Rule Overlords jointly summoned the Supreme Gods. 77

Utred later exchanged a Destruction Divine Spark with Rias for Nut's Death Divine Spark. He selected Dannington as its recipient after assessing the young Seven-star Demon's potential and first taking him as an Overgod's Envoy. 87

As Destruction Chief Sovereign, Utred declared that Hell would be jointly governed by the Destruction lineage's High Gods. He divided Hell into territories for his aligned Sovereigns and renamed the continents accordingly. Four Elemental Overlords challenged this order and were decisively defeated. 88

Concerned by Rias and Of's growing power, Utred negotiated an alliance with Of: Of would support Hell in achieving Ten Consecutive Wins in the Plane War, and Utred would formally aid Of against other Sovereigns. The agreement was sealed by oaths to their respective Supreme Gods. 109

After Hell earned its Ten Consecutive Wins, Utred accepted Jie Ning's challenge but was wounded by the Four Realms Reincarnation Array and had a Divine Artifact destroyed. He later acquired a Supreme Artifact and demanded a rematch, only to concede again against Jie Ning's improved Magic Array. 118 122

Utred subsequently merged with Of into a two-headed giant to confront Rias, but her Final Array overwhelmed them and forced their retreat. He later expressed concern over Of's plan involving the reactivated Moss and the simulated world. 137 139

Personality

Utred is intensely competitive and driven by a need to prove himself the strongest among the Rule Overlords. His pursuit of power shapes both his cultivation and political decisions, from spreading Battle Qi to seeking Plane War victories and Supreme Artifacts. 76 109 122

He is battle-hungry and readily challenges powerful opponents, especially Of and Jie Ning. However, he can restrain himself when he recognizes that he lacks the confidence to win. 76 87

Despite his aggression, Utred is capable of long-term planning. He manages Hell's Destruction lineage, evaluates and recruits talented subordinates, researches useful intelligence, and forms alliances when direct strength alone is insufficient. 77 87 88 109
